  1. I think the highlights reiterated a couple of things to me. In the first half we really did ourselves no favours. The amount of stray passes in the first half hour, in particular, was shocking. We don't usually struggle so much to get our foot on the ball. That was partly down to Montrose and their high press but also down to us not being particularly good at that time. Unsurprisingly the 10 minutes we started to pass the ball around a bit led to us getting our equaliser. Wright in goal looked comfortable, often in doing routine things which Ramsbottom makes look like hard work. But if he could reduce the timewasting a little bit then I'd very much appreciate it. His distribution was inconsistent but given Sam's is consistently dreadful it was an improvement! Defensively we tightened up in the second half but we really need more at the top end of the pitch. I think BBPF touched on it but, we gave Dundee a real doing with 10 men a couple of weeks ago so we are capable of getting at any team in our league and should never be giving any of our league opponents that much respect. Overall I was happy to get the point which, as I mentioned before, we wouldn't have picked up for the majority of this season. I believe we are looking to bring in 1 more loanee and hope it is at the top end of the park either a tricky winger or striker to play off Josh. On a side note, I feel we have more balance without Wilson and McKee in the team but we do lack the quality they are capable of delivering from deadball situations. At the start if the season we punished teams constantly from set plays. But we don't seem to be anywhere near as much of a threat now because deliveries have been poor (and McGeever is out injured!).
  2. That isn't so bad then. Hoping he can pick up with his form then on Tuesday...
  3. Was there any word about why MacLean was out yesterday? Really hoping he didn't pick up an injury that will keep him out for any length of time as he was just starting to contribute a bit more on the pitch. Apologies if I missed anything that was reported already.
  4. terrible chat... In what way were they pathetic? Is it possible that you guys are the issue in this and your perception of the game, getting caught up in the heat of it all?
  5. An angry bunch you guys are. I've openly admitted that it frustrates me the time wasting we have done this season. Sam Ramsbottom is the world's worst and if you ask anyone who sits near me at the games, I've verbally had a go at him on numerous occasions for doing it. Wright wasn't much better today but we weren't in the game so I understand why he done it, even if I don't like it. In what way is it "interesting"? I've yet to be given an example of how he was poor. The clock ran until about 98 mins so I think he done a fair job of adding on the time you mention. When did we con the referee? Your guys were fair throwing themselves about today. Yes we may have wasted a few seconds in the dying minutes taking a bit longer to get to our feet etc. But if you weren't in the game and we were in control of possession, playing away from home to a better team... you'd do exactly the same thing! Away and have a beer and put your feet up
  6. That's the thing though. Your use of language is incorrect. He didn't "kick out" he tripped a player and "took one for the team," so to speak. Very common kind of foul to concede and always a yellow card. What the Montrose player done in retaliation was the perfect example of someone "kicking out". We were dreadful to watch in the 2nd half today. We have been like that a few occasions this season and it isn't pretty. The main difference today was that it gained us a point when for a solid 3 months of the season we were playing every week and getting nothing, despite often looking a fair bit better than we did today.
  7. You seem a bit upset? It also appears you don't understand the laws of the game if you think Carswell deserved anything more than a yellow card. I genuinely thought the ref had a good game today and I'd love you to point out anything he got very wrong in the match to show me otherwise..? Worth noting that we don't always play that way and the fact so many of out own fans have commented on how eye bleeding it was to watch should back that up somewhat. We haven't had a great season and we'll take points like that though. That's 2 points in the last week we wouldn't have got a couple of months ago and twice coming from behind against teams in much better form and higher up the league than ourselves though. Fair play to Faz, despite the horrific viewing it made.
  8. Would any of the Montrose fans care to comment on the seethe at the end? Was it just because we had run the clock down and things and the frustration getting the better of you? As I said previously, the ref had a decent game in my opinion. From our point of view, Wright was pretty frustrating in the time wasting department and no improvement on Ramsbottom. But I feel that some of the "routine" saves he made, Sam would have made a bit of a meal of.
  9. Yeah we were solid defensively for sure. If we had been that tight in the first half we wouldn't have conceded the goal we did. But if wasn't nice to watch and we seemed happy to sit in despite finishing the 1st half on top and showing we could take the game to them more. We missed MacLean and his direct play today I felt. Orsi works hard but he isn't up to starting with how he plays, imo.
  10. Thought the ref was pretty good in that match. All the calls right in the end really. Hilarious stuff from the Montrose fans. We didn't offer much but for all their dominance Montrose didn't test our 'keeper at all really. Good point for sure.
  11. I think Boyle and Buchanan have been dreadful here... both caught for the goal. We wait on the ball far too often rather than going and getting it. Our left hand side is still a major issue but having a focal point is helping us and Josh seems to be getting some wee fouls which is helping us out. Thought his booking was a bit harsh. All that being said, I think we just about deserved the goal back when we got it.
  12. Seems strange given he wasn't mentioned as being doubtful or anything in the preview... Will miss him as he's been much better the last 3 matches!
  13. This was my view too. He should never have laying so low under the radar at Clyde for 5 years and shouldn't be playing football again. The fact Clyde managed to make money from him is also ridiculous. Bring him "home"... I'm sure he felt the same way when he was desperate to leave.
  14. I did enjoy how selective the Cove highlights were in providing "instant replays". Has Rory McAllister always been such a greetin' faced twat? He fair puts himself about as well at times... fair play to him with the amount of goals he has scored this season but I can't be bothered with all that nonsense. The full Cove team really are just like Paul Hartley, whining, moaning, and the sense of entitlement in that they should be getting everything and winning games. Then the terrible attitudes when they're not winning.
  15. That was my concern to be fair. If we can get someone who can recreate that FC United form I'm not caring about anything else.
  16. So aye. I've had some sleep. I watched the game loosely on the stream as I was getting sorted and leaving for the wedding I was playing at. From what I seen we were the better team in the first half for sure. If Duthie would sort his finishing out he'd be our top scorer and POTY shoe in! Everyone really is routing for him! Ramsbottom can get straight in the bin. He can't adjust his kicking at all and it really handicaps up before we start anything. Add in to that his ridiculous time wasting from the first second every week and the calamitous errors he throws in then I reckon he has easily cost us double figures of points this year. Also very frustrating to capitulate so quickly yesterday but nice to see us work hard to get back in it and gain a point! We can't have come from behind to gain many points this year?? We are 100% in a better position with the balance of our squad than we were at the end of the year so hopefully we can grind more or those "bonus" points and start beating the teams around us too.
  17. I did notice that but I was not long home from my gig and catching up on everything and was wide awake. Had to start some kind of rumour The fact he hasn't actually played for them would mean that something may have changed circumstance wise but yeah... it was just me throwing something out there
  18. Someone like this perhaps? Obviously a complete and utter stab in the dark but having recently played here would he still require clearance and things?
  19. That was most entertaining actually. Cove are a team I want to like but with Hartley at the helm and all the greetin' that goes on it is hard not to dislike them. Seems Hartley has either put his stamp on them or he is just a particularly good match for them. The sense of entitlement and, when things aren't going your way, the moaning and everything... I just can't be bothered with that stuff.
  20. Yeah, I was about to make that point. Would be fine if our main play was to the big striker. I also have the fear the Sam Ramsbottom could be the player to score the most (own)goals in this match.
