Yep, the women’s stable going all NWO with the spray paint is 20+ years outdated tiresome pish, although in the long run the inevitable break up and potential feuds/matches between any combo of the three could be decent. Orange Cassidy is easily my favourite in AEW. The guy is simply an outstanding performer and the whole slacker gimmick just works so well, and funnily enough maybe because being that character takes little effort. Hopefully Adam Cole is alive and well, but I doubt I’d complain were he to end up off tv for a prolonged spell again. Personally have found AEW to be a thousand percent more entertaining without him.

It’s “fitbaw” right across the central belt in my experience. Think Borders are the same but reverts back to “fitba” in Dumfries & Galloway. As for things I hate about fitbaw and has probably been said already - Is the B teams being allowed into the LL.

The league table makes this season all the more frustrating given teams we’ve beaten sitting above us. Best of luck to Spartans. Anyone but Rangers or Celtic.

Well in hindsight, we started the season on fire with Ian Little in charge of the team. If foresight was possible for how the season would pan out, I’d reckon the majority of the support would’ve wanted Max gone back in August and Ian Little promoted to manager, so I think this will wash and the supporters will see this as the best appointment to see out this season. Also, are there any obvious stronger candidates that are available right now, or any that are likely to jump ship now if they’re currently in a manager role elsewhere? Doubtful. As for someone new coming in now and deciding who they want to keep and move on - I don’t necessarily disagree with that. However, if Ian has a successful run of results until the end of the season then I see no reason he shouldn’t be considered. Also, Ian will know the current squad and how to get the best out them. Unfortunately I think losing the likes of big Dan might hinder Ian getting us playing exactly as we did at the start of the season. With regards financial backing, it makes it all the more curious whether the other team really are little more than an ego trip for the pair behind them. If there really was any desire to benefit the town on a footballing front, why wouldn’t you just seek to invest and back an already established community club whose senior side are long established, in a higher, stronger league and had better prospects? Certainly in the short term anyway. That said, maybe they did approach United with a view to backing and getting involved but got knocked back by the committee? Highly doubtful that happened, but at the same time I really can’t fault their ambition, albeit I think “doing it for the town” was way down (if even part of) their agenda as opposed to seizing an opportunity given the ownership situation with Newtown Park.

Nobody gave a f**k what you thought years ago and nobody gives a f**k now. Away count some calories you vile blob. The bold bit I feel is partly what’s prevented BU building on past successes. In no way is this a dig at the committee for the hard work they’ve put in over they years but there’s a reluctance to move away from the tried and trusted. There have been forward-thinking folk on our committee in the past that were willing to move with the times and go against the grain but then hit a brick wall of resistance to the point they felt there was no point continuing and left.

On paper this reads as a good idea and despite my grievances with how Athletic went about getting to where they are, I’ve never had a gripe with their ambition. So that said, I wouldn’t necessarily object to what you’re suggesting, but how would you even begin trying to implement it, particularly with the progress Athletic are making in their league at the moment?

Didn’t go yesterday but 100% agree with this post. Funny sentence to finish with given the rest of the post is a slavering mess. God knows who you were attempting to reply to. Seek help man. We had a good striker in Dan but let him go. Not an out-and-out goal scorer but created chances for others and was a handful to play against. Hard to disagree with your post though, although I think a manager that picks their best 11 in their most effective positions and not who he’s had a wee huff with that week might help too.

Just my back really. As for football, I stopped hurting months ago. The league and the Scottish are all that are worth bothering about and Mastermind Max seen that our season was down the pan before we even got to Halloween.

Pretty sure I won’t be alone in having very little appetite (unlike @Auld Heid) for these remaining fixtures, especially the away ones although I have a few jobs needing done in D&G so might go to Dalbeattie. Looks like that’ll possibly be my next and last game this season
