Max seems to dismantle as much as he builds though. Signed an excellent centre back last year only for differences with Max leading to him vanishing. If rumours to be believed the same thing has happened again with Todd. As for giving him time, there’s only so much rebuilding and “getting it right” that can be achieved with our limited budget. As things stand, it seems the harsh reality creeping in is that where we’re at now is possibly a case of us having found our level already, hence falling attendances and the knock on affect this has on our budget. Other clubs seem to be able to attract generous sponsors or investors that help them progress, whilst two or three others clubs have a sugar daddy bankrolling the whole thing (always wondered, is FFP is even a thing in the lower leagues ), but this seems to be something BU consistently struggle with.

I’m the opposite. Maybe it’s a generational thing but I’ve zero interest in Punk coming back, always found him to be upper mid-card entertainment at best and have never got the hype around him. As for Miro being mentioned as a potential foe for Punk - Lana’s recent comments adding fuel to the fire that he might be on his way back to WWE. Agreed.

I gave it up and smoking in general almost 2 years ago now. My view hasn’t changed at all though, and I believe it should be legalised, taxed and subject to qc to get rid of all the overpriced shite.

Don’t need to add much to what @alta-pete said there to be honest. As per any business, it wouldn’t be worthwhile if they’re not turning (and trying to maximise)a profit. The only time you might see less of a mark-up is where the car market (used or new) is a little more saturated with that particular type of vehicle. For example; my old Ford Focus that I was talking about above - I saved just shy of £2k buying it new down in Nottingham instead of from a dealership up here. Simply put - There’s far more people, far more stock and far more dealership’s trying to flog cars down in England and so the market was far more competitive. ETA: Had great fuel consumption up the gears that car. This was 2010 and it only cost about £50 to fill the tank with diesel and being pretty much motorway the entire journey, IIRC I think it only used about 1/4 of the tank to get back to Falkirk from Nottingham.

I’ve sold three cars to them over the years and found them to be no bother to deal with. Well, certainly the Falkirk branch anyway. Back in the day there always used to be so much time spent shopping around for prices plus no-end of time-wasters when selling a motor, so in that respect WBAC are excellent if you want a fairly quick, hassle-free sale. My old Focus had a couple of issues needing fixed when I sold it, but WBAC actually outbid a couple of dealerships and I ended up with around £500 more than I expected based on the then “going rate” and what I was offered elsewhere. The guy a WBAC said he’d pay more to guarantee the sale because he’d make a profit on the car either way because their mechanics could either fix it at peanuts rates. Worst case was they’d write it off, strip it down and make money by either reusing and not having to buy-in parts, or selling on parts. He said thats what happens with probably half the cars the “disposable” brands i.e. Ford, Vauxhall, Citreon, Peugeot once they’re over about 8 years old or more.

Ridiculous. They should just have made the call (off) today like various other teams have, especially with the travel involved. At least then folk can make other plans instead of last minute.

Basically all of that modern “Club” music. Don’t even know what that genre is called nowadays. How it’s so insanely popular and folk can listen to it all the time I’ve absolutely no idea. Absolutely horrendous that that sort of crap seems to make up 75% of the charts and what’s on the radio these days. Keep it in the nightclubs and get it tae f**k anywhere else. Despite my leanings toward a certain staunch football club, I cringed right through the Europa League run every time I heard “I’m Feeling It” blasting through the stadium PA and wince any other time I hear it. That song to me is the epitome of that fucking awful type of music and it’s just a fucking awful tune full stop.

With Dalbeattie’s close proximity to the Solway Firth there’s perhaps a glimmer of hope that the salty breeze might keep the pitch playable but I would guess it’s very unlikely to be on.
