  1. Where’d you find that stat? Injured or otherwise I think Zinchenko would’ve played less regardless as was usually playing second or third fiddle to rapey Benjamin, Danilo, Kolarov etc. I think had it been against Man City or one of the other top 4 clubs then that substitution might have happened.
  2. Viera coming on was basically a straight like-for-like substitution as in midfielder off, midfielder on. Viera’s also regarded as a bit of a prospect hence the £40m fee and also one of Arteta’s signings that he’s obviously keen to phase in. It paid off too with Viera getting the assist for Oedegaard’s first goal. Arteta clearly sees Zinchenko as a left back primarily and his first choice left back. So in that respect I can understand the substitution and leaving Zinchenko in defence. I’m still on the fence whether Zinchenko or Tierney is the better player. I want Tierney to be from a Scottish point of view but I’m not that naive I’d slate Zinchenko for any little mistake he makes or flaw in his game. Pure speculation but my feeling is that Arteta simply has little trust or faith that Tierney will get through 90 minutes or be able to stay fit for more than 2 or 3 games at a time. Whilst Zinchenko’s had injuries this season, Arteta will know him from Man City and also trust his medical team at Arsenal. And the less said about Tierney’s injury record the better.
  3. Well there’s a whole lot to cram into the 2 hour finale if they want to stand any chance of something that even semi resembles a decent way of ending this show. I am fully prepared for disappointment and the words “you’re fucking kidding me” to come flying out my mouth. I feel a dreadful cliffhanger type ending incoming so those that have stuck with it to the bitter end are invested in the upcoming movies in the hope they finally give us a proper conclusion. Anyone know the score with Fear TWD? Is the next series going to be the last for it too?
  4. If anything decent came out of tonight it’s Civil Service getting beat by Caledonian Braves and Podcast Utd getting pumped by Tranent.
  5. Better its checked just to be on the safe side though. Anyway, back on topic - It’s quite likely I’ll be having the mixed grill in about 45 mins.
  6. Hard drive check urgently required.
  7. Well from a selfish point of view, hopefully what happens next is Max seeing yesterday that the 4-3-3 with Dan centre forward is the formation we need to play, our best 11 stay fit from now until May and we somehow claw our way back up the league and amongst some teams I believe we’re as good as if not better than.
  8. As per numerous posts above, by far the worst Dynamite in ages, made all the worse by the last few weeks (since the media scrum/Punk carry on) being pretty good. Still, echoing some of the above posts; Aye, there are far too many belts. JAS are awful and Jake Hager skips leg day. Jade Mangirl is an absolute bore.
  9. Much the same thoughts as above posts. Season 1 was absolutely incredible. Season 2 I enjoyed but by the last 2 or 3 episodes it was becoming a bit of a challenge. Season 3 and 4 for me were kind of a case of “well I’ve come this far” and sticking with it in the vein hope it all somehow came together wonderfully given how high the bar was set by Season 1. Unfortunately, it ultimately boiled down to it Season 4 being mind boggling seriously hard work and Aaron Paul being a massive downgrade from Anthony Hopkins. ETA: Credit where it’s due though, some tremendous performances particularly from Thandie Newton, and for me Westworld is up there with Peaky Blinders for the song choices and unique use of music.
  10. Well if the rumour mill is to be believed, Leigh Griffiths signs for Tranent Juniors tonight…
  11. Teddy daft. In the pub. Home from the pub.
  12. So much braindead vermin in society these days
  13. For clarity I’ve edited my original post as I meant to write “poor crowd” not “poor side” and I wondered how they were funded as they seemed to have next to no support. Their side seems to have come on leaps and bounds this season though so wondered if they’d come into a bit of money and made numerous changes.
  14. The Shire beating Podcast Utd is a (pleasant) surprise result. Have Civil Service gained a sugar daddy? Poor crowds last season playing at a glorified public park in front of three fans but this season there seems to be a massive change in their form and results.
  15. Can’t speak for Tranent but in Bo’ness case there’s a big element of our results being “self inflicted” with regards our league position and being out the Scottish. Bonnyrigg have a good manager and built a good team but ultimately they may just be getting to the point that their current squad are finding their level. K£lty being where they are is a completely different kettle of fish though.
  16. The back 4 was the least of our worries on Saturday. Defence was the only area of our team where for the most part the line up worked, albeit Devon is sound defensively at left back but favours his right foot and isn’t the strongest going forward so didn’t work well with Walker ahead of him. In front of the defence there was far too big a gap between centre midfield and the strikers. Despite Gemmell recognising this and trying to get forward, ultimately it’s not his game and we were often forced to go long to two strikers just back from long lay offs who didn’t work well together and got absolutely bossed by the Talbot centre backs. The line up first half with Walker left and Stevenson right also took them out the game and negated everything they’ve been good at this season and limited them to trying to go down the line which didn’t happen and they’d have been putting crosses in to two strikers winning nothing in the air and getting completely owned by the Talbot defenders. So alas, it’s finally got to that point where I have to admit - In Max I no longer trust!
  17. I don’t think I’m even going to attempt to watch this purely down to a strong dislike of Jennifer Coolidge’s big munterous face.
  18. Just a random observation, but AEW has been really good the last two or three weeks. Seems the media scrum has almost given the company as a whole a kick up the arse and even the normally beige hour of Rampage has been pretty decent. On that note, and with hindsight, I think I’d actually be quite happy if AEW were to empty CM Punk and Kenny Omega. Personally I’ve never really got Punk. Can’t say I’ve ever found his matches overly entertaining albeit he’s good on the mic in heel mode. Omega is an insanely talented performer but I’ve never really taken to the guy. Ultimately I don’t think AEW need either of them and the roster is pretty stacked anyway. Would like to see the Young Bucks back though, they at least offer something to the tag team division.
  19. This… And this… And this… (tho not sure I’d pick Kyle) It’s actually mental that a week ago folk were wishing (as opposed to predicting) what team should start against Talbot, give or take a player, but ultimately coming up with near enough the exact same line up. The line up most are saying is our strongest IS our strongest. Seems everyone can see it apart from the manager. It’s near enough the side that started the season strong, banging in goals, playing well and filling the BU support with optimism for the season ahead - Then the manager returned from his holiday. Pissed off with that result today. Talbot are still a good side credit where it’s due, but there’s no doubt in my mind that the BU 11 posted above which everyone apart from Max would pick would have bested Talbot over 90 minutes with no need for extra time or penalties.
  20. Yup, exceedingly beige so far.
  21. I’m a fan of Orange Cassidy too, he’s great to watch regardless of who he’s up against and his slacker gimmick is well over with everyone. Jericho speaks really highly of him as a performer and worker too.
