  1. Experiences tell you that the vast majority of inexperienced managers given their first job in the SPL fail miserably. Stevie Wonder could see that. So we dont just make that mistake once with Eddie may we confound it by bringing in Pressley and lo and behold we're relegated without so much as even a whimper. How anyone could then give Pressley the job after as has been mentioned his results i the last five games of that season against the dregs of the SPl is incredible. The BOd then gambled on himtaking us straight back up by gambling the clubs finances to provide the best budget possible. Pressley again failed miserably and we were never really in the hunt for the top spot despite the standard being perhaps the poorest for decades. The result was also trouble with the HMRC which saw the bod having to grovel to all and sundry for soft loans to stop us going bust. The fans then call for pressley's head which is ignored as usual and we then actually have half a season of decent football which is unfortuantely folowed by a return to the woful stuff we'd been accustomed to the seasons before. Some decent cup runs paper over the cracks and our clown of a chairman who wouldnt know a football if smacked him on the arse then decideds o ludicrously give our manager a 3 year contract. Pressley fails miserably to sign the right players in the summer and a woful start to the season follows with us still getting ploughed with the same old young team excuses etc. Meanwhile in a league where noone has a huge budget Partick Thistle and Dunfermline are fighting it out at the top whilst we struggle at home to part timers liek Airdrie who could only dream of budgets and training facilities like the ones available to our squad. The whole thing is a decacle from start to finish and noone can surely now provide pressley with anymore excuses for the situation we now find ourselves in. The man should be turning up tonight and offering his resignation before dispappearing into the night. In my opinion he's right up there with the worst managers this club has ever had.

  2. At the end of the day our budget is no less than the one Jackie McNamara has at Thistle and yet he's producing a team that are winning every week. Why are trhey getting a lot more bang for their buck than we are? They've managed to sign a number of up and coming scottish players plus adding the likes of Hugh Murray for experience. They've got a a really decent backbone to their team and they arent pissing money away on signings from down south. For example the boy Muirhead they signed from Annan is a very decent signing so why are we not looking at the lower leagues for players? All that and yet their still getting crowds of 500 less than us. Whose the chumps now??

  3. I would class St Johnstone, St Mirren, Kilmarnock, ICT, Dundee, Livi, Partick, Hamilton, Morton, Dunfermline, Raith, and us as the same size of club, at varying points in their cycle at the moment.

Are you having a laugh? St Johnstone, ICT,Livi, Hamilton, Morton and Raith have absolutely die supports these days. Christ we're going through a major trough at the moment and yet we've still got 2000 season ticket holders which is more than Hamilton, Morton , Raith and Livi get as their crowd on a saturday. If we were in the SPl just now we'd comfortably have bigger average crowds than St Johnstone, St Mirrren and ICT.

  4. Of course its not shite to pay loans back to people who gave us money, it is of course the correct thing to do. But having a business model that forces you to sell a player every year knocks progress, and thats if we even manage to sell a player, if we don't manage it we're financially screwed, again. I reckon it'll be up there with the top teams, but don't think we'll be the highest by a long way.

To me it all depends on who these people we owe are. If their people with no relation to the club then yes get them paid back as quick as possible but if their members of the board then f**k them as far as I'm concerned as their the reason we're in this mess financially in the first place.

I also can't belive that robbairn 1876 on this thread who thinks that midtable is a bonus and we won't get relegated . Come on for fucks sake . We've got the best stadium, training facilities and biggest season ticket base in the league. We should not be seeing midtable as acceptable. We might aswell give up if thats the case.

  5. Unfortunately every team has their fans who cant take a laugh. The big difference here though is that probably the fact that paisley panda was doing it straight in front of Falkirk fans could've been seen as inflammatary. In the case of our P.A. man though his comments were made at a Falkirk v Raith Rovers game where your hardly likely to be offending anyone apart from the usual sevco crew who don't actually know where ibrox is.

  6. Love all the Falkirk fans saying there not going to the game or sing "your not rangers anymore"

    1. Falkirk have a poor fanbase so it won't really matter it will only see your own club out of pocket.

    2. Again your fans are poor I doubt we'll even hear you lot sing the whole game as we'll be the ones who provide the atmosphere.

On the announcer guy, Can someone tell him to do something with those eyebrows? Thank you in advance. We are the people.

We may have a small fanbase but at least they were there when we needed it most. We hear all about how loyal the sevco fans are and yet they've had to rely on a punter fae sheffield who couldnt give two hoots to bail them out or they would no longer exist. Where were all yourloyal fans then when hoddit and doddit were trying to flog the club off??

  7. He will be bound by confidentiality even if he does know. MR was at the game yesterday so I assume a meeting is on for this week.

I'm all for confidentiality in the right context ie when discussing players wages etc but in cases like this its frankly ludicrous and makes a mockery of the position.

  8. Pressley for me just doesnt seem to understand that to win the first you need to be able to dig and play a bit. We badly need a real hard b*****d in the middle of the park or im afraid it'll be the same old story this season. When you look back at previous championship winning teams they could all play football and mix it with the best of them.

  9. My main issue isn't actually with the way we voted although i will be very disappointed if we voted yes to sevco entering the first on the basis that reconstruction would be looked at and nothing more . No its with the way our bod basically takes the piss out of the fans by the way it treats our fans director/ board rep. As a member of the bod he should've known by close of play that friday how we voted and yet what over a week later and he nor the rest of the trust seem to have a clue. If it hadnt been for the fans back in 96/97 we wouldnt have a club and this position was set up then to give the fans something back and to ensure that what happened then would never happen again. The current bod are make a mockery out of all of that.

  10. Is it just me or is Sally the luckiest manager on the planet just now. His record at Sevco is woeful when a few euro wins and not getting pumped out the league cup bu falkirks under 21's might have gone a long way towards keeping the club going for another few months and yet he's being treated as some sort of hero by the current buns. Not only that but he now gets to pit his wits against managers at a level he should've been at all along ie the 3rd division. After white and murray hes the next reason their up the shitter for christs sake. He should've stuck to shaggin sue barker instead of showing himself up as way out of his managerial depth in the SPL. Just shows how much Green knows about fitba that he's keeping this clown on as manager.

  11. We couldn't have afforded a decent, experienced manager when May left. I was disappointed at the time, but saw that if you're going to gamble on a manager on his first job, you have to give him time to learn the job, and mould a team that fits his vision. There were ups and downs in his first full season, some great moments, and some dire, but you could see he was learning, and what he was trying to do. Kaizen baby! I think you would struggle to find many Bairns wanting him out of the door now.

If I was you I'd swallow my pride, and come back. You're missing some great football!

P.S. Are the figures published yet to prove we had the biggest budget that year?

Rubbish signing a decent experienced manager would've cost us peanuts compared to the millions in revenue lost by appounting pressley and getting relegated. Pressley should bever have been near the job at that stage. He also blew our best chance of promotion by pissing a decent budget away in our first season down. Yes he's perhaps now beginning to find his feet but its difficult to say until hes got a budget capable of winning us promotion and i'm still not sure he has that this year. At least dundee's promotion though gives us more of a chance. Pressleys appointment was a shocking decision second only to the appointment of eddie may before him. The bod may have the clubs interests at heart but that doent mean to say they havent made a right arse of it over the last few seasons.

  12. I am not a Rangers supporter anymore than I'm a Falkirk supporter and have probably been at more Falkirk games in recent years than Rangers games. Indeed if you paid attention my team is Linlithgow.

But taking on your point how valuable was the game against Rangers to Falkirk last season. In additional gate money and match sponsorship etc? Indeed in beating them it gave further financial benefits that would not have come from beating another SPL team other than maybe Celtic.

My original point was in relation to the BILE out there from so called Scottish Football fans for the demise of another Club and also the potential impact that demise will have to us all.

Falkirk I used as one example based upon my own factual knowledge of the way they work being local.

The falkirk game against rangers was a bonus last season and nothing more. We'd have still posted a profit whether we'd got them or not. The simplr fact is that rules are rules and must be followed. There was two options for sevco. One was acceptance to the SPL the other was acceptance via the third division . If the situation is that bad financially for Spl clubs then they should've allowed Sevco back into the SPL. They Didnt so the only fair option left is for Sevco is to apply for access to the third division and to work their way back through the leagues. Parachuting Sevco into the first division is a ludicrous and scandalous idea and I can assure you I wont be back in another scottish professional ground if this comes off. I'd have the same feelings if it was Celtic, Aberdeen, Motherwell orany other scottish football club although we know that celtic apart we wouldnt be having this debate if it as nay other club apart from Rangers. If rules are bended so much that we start fixing leagues then what is the point of supporting a league structure as corrupt as the SFL/SPL.
