  1. It shouldnt happen though when youve got money in the bank and hes got a decent amount of time on his contract. Hamilton werent rushed into selling mccarthy and they eventually got over a mill for him and sold him at the right time for them. Im fed up with us selling players the first time anyone comes in for them.

  2. I don't think anyone would've compared him to Stokes....His biggest prob was injuries, his early part of his career with us had stats of a goal every 2nd game per starts...then in came May and Elvis to blow that when he had got himself fit to play week in week out.

I think ffc fans would be 50/50 or so on him, obviously has some feeling towards ffc with his non celebration with his Dundee goal recently, considering some of the abuse he got...

Under right management and with staying fit, could be a decent signing, last I looked, he seemed to have done well enough out there, tho injuries held up him signing if I recall, which is my concern with him...suprised to fuk to see him bring only 27

Have we learned nothing from his previous spell at the club for Christ's sake. He's a walking injury and that's continued since he left us. He was our for about 6 months with earache . Terrible signing that we shouldn't even be contemplating.
  3. Can we afford not to? Crowds dwindling, those that remain heckling and boo-ing the players. That doesn't help confidence and a vicious circle ensues.

A new manager may well be told to work with what he has, but would hopefully have the demonstrated experience to manage limited resources along with tactical nous.

We have a team of rookies, we can't keep giving them rookie managers and expect them to magically become experienced.

ETA - an experienced manager that can help the players make the most of their abilities will in turn make them more saleable assets, more than making up for the higher salary the manager would command.

The problem we've got is that the bod will probably say that holt was appointed as a result of them doing what many of the fans wanted. Fans wanted a proper recruitment process and they carried that out. They also wanted fan involvement in the selection and got that as the fans rep was involved in the selection process. Holt will unfortunately be here for a while yet id think unless relegation becomes a realistic possibility.

  4. It's been a very long time since we had so many goal threats in a single squad, I could see about 5 or 6 of our players getting double figures this season. You'd probably have to go back to the last year at Brockville for when that was the case before. Exciting times and should be good to watch.

I also think it should be said that Ritchie has backed Holt very well since Taylor left. Off the top of my head that's four new signings since then, which is far more than any of us expected. A more defensively minded midfielder coming in would be nice, but at the moment they'd just be sitting on the bench. I think what we have is fine though, we should be flexible enough to go to a 4-3-3 and I think we've got the players for that if need be.

Yes but what would've happened if Taylor hadnt left? We were needing these players anyway for the most part but I bet we'd have signed noone if Taylor hadnt been punted. The new boy looks like he's got a bit of pace which should give him a head start on most scottish players thankfully.

  5. Same was said when Darren Dods joined.

Your right to a certain extent and we managed to get the best part of two seasons out of him so in that case the gamble worked. However, it doesnt work every time and with the number of players out of work these days I just felt there might be someone else out there that wouldnt be as much of a risk.

  6. Its just a pity we hadnt thought about all these initiatives when we had a decent team playing in the SPL. If we'd given out more free tickets to kids then when they actually had an entertaining team to watch and we could better afford to let folk in for hee haw then perhaps more of the yougsters of today would be watching the team already. Same old story though that when things are going well there's very little initiative to do these things. Only when things tail off do we start finding ways and means to get fans to turn up. My worry is that as per usual we get a decent crowd on saturday boosted by the various offers available but then the perfomance on show by the team is poor and therefore you arent encouraging any of these people to come back and pay the full fare.

  7. Sibbald needs to get involved more during games. Even against stenny's young team although he scored a decent goal he did very little else when to me he should've been running the show at that level. Grant's a crackin player who i'd expect to see getting more and more involved as the season goes on.

  8. Current "Buy the Pars" total:

    urs8.png

Pars United required £100,000 of fan donations to buy the Club. As you can see, this has been more than matched.

Is that all you could muster? No wonder the cva offer is so embarrassing.

Its okay obviously to have a laugh and s joke according to some of these posts but a lot of people have lost a decent amount of cash due to this cva. You'd think more pars fans would remember that .

  9. A lot of people had the mentality of not wanting to give money to the club as they had absolutely no idea where it was actually going. As soon as the Pars United group started, fans were happier to go to the games, knowing that their money could potentially save the club.

Is that why there was less than 1300 could be arsed turning up against us? Surly people new where their cash was going by then?

  10. Shadwell, your setting yourself up for a Meltdown mate.

The truth is that 75%+ of the people that matter (the creditors) are happy to be shafted so, indeed, who are you to argue.

The difference between DAFC and Rangers is this agreement, it effectively means the debt is settled. Rangers never got that and have carried on regardless as the same club. There is significant difference in the two scenarios.

But going with 0 p in the pound your no better than the **** surely. The only difference is that the hmrc had a controlling share at rangers and not here. As i said before my club paid all its debts in full. You arent paying any of them it would seen so theres only one team who can hold their head up high here. How can anyone celebrate that when you consider the cash some poor people have lost.

  11. If your quite happy to shaft all your creditors then who am i to argue. Funnily enough we paid all ours in full when we were struggling. 1 quid to 1 quid. To me that was the best thing to do instead of leaving some poor folk out of pocket. If thats ok with you guys then you can sleep easy at night.

  12. Barrowmans one of these players that seems to float about clubs doing very little but still getting signed as one manager after another thinks they can get something out of him. Hes had one decent season in the second and since then his scoring record has been average at best even at the shoddy level of the first division. Will be disappointed if hes the best we can get.
