I agree with what you say, I'm like that with Roxanne and the term is used across Ayrshire as a slang for dirty.

Though I also see what @Richey Edwardsis saying, it could possibly be perceived as something it isn't. I used to think it was cool as f**k to sing songs like that at school when I was younger, though it seems we've grown a sensitivity over the years. I wouldn't like to sing the song, knowing there's the possibility of offending someone.

This is my point though. Society has moved on (or at least in some places)

We should be able to use the word Black without fear of offending.

unless you’re one of the snowflakes who went to a school without a blackboard, never sang baa baa black sheep, never had a black eye and never been black listed.

black doesn’t have to be a race.

Well, one of us is claiming that a clearly racist song is not racist because their wife calls people "black". And then you claim that race is not an issue.

LMAO. You're well silly you are.

No, I’m saying we need to understand that black does not need to mean skin colour.

Skin colour should not even be a consideration, those who cling onto it like some kind of weapon are the ones who have the issue.

    but go f**k yourself, clown.

The "meaning of it" is also racist. Implying that "black" equals "dirty" is racist. I don't get what people don't understand about that.

I have not heard anyone use the term "black" to mean "dirty" outside of the football in about 15 years. No one actually says it anymore. Time to get that racist shite in the bin and lifetime banning orders should be issued to anyone engaging in such behaviour.

I’m not defending the song at all but it’s wrong to say the song is  racist.

black is commonly used throughout Ayrshire to signify unclean. my mrs is from Killie and will Often use black mocket as a phrase to describe people.

There is zero connection to race. In fact the mention of race is the only racist thing.

we need to move away from it though.

society also needs to move away from association of black and race. Skin colour isn’t relevant in todays society

Yes you're correct, just at first they weren't offering refunds, took them about 4 hours to announce that in a follow up.

This sort of scenario or any postponement for that matter is a good example of where this online ticketing has its drawbacks and i'd imagine it's now a bit of a nightmare for clubs getting refunds back to folk etc

I would think online ticketing should make the refund process easier if anything.

As simple as clicking a button.

For all the chat of Thistle taking our best players, they only actually signed one player from us. And even then the only other ex Ayr player they got that would’ve done well for us was Crawford. Moore, Forrest and McCowan all told Jobby to beat it.

Thistle have spent the last few seasons hoovering up our cast offs. They’re just a richer Stranraer.

David Mitchell, Steven Bell, Robbie Crawford, Aero, Doc, Tiffoney ( albeit he wasn’t really ours)

Won’t be long until the announce the signing of Andre Wright.

You can’t get international clearance for any player outside of a transfer window, including free agents. That would mean we’d be limiting ourselves to players whose most recent club was in Scotland, which would probably be a very small pool of players.

Likewise, if we cancelled Ramirez’s contract tomorrow, he wouldn’t be able to move to a club in another country unless that country’s transfer window was open.

Sorry but that’s nonsense. You can sign a free agent outside the window as long as they were released before the end of the relevant transfer window.

International clearance has nothing to do with it.

Was all for buying a streaming season but was put off by the price. I know it’s about a tenner a game but the streaming seems expensive as a lump sum. It’s less games but I can go to watch Perth Glory for the same all season (355AUD)

The A-League is awful though. Brisbane Roar could be playing in my back garden and I wouldn’t watch them.

Been to 1 A-League game and that was enough…

Have a bit of a problem this morning 😔

My wee boys best friends mum sent a message asking if my wee boy wanted to go with his friend to the Kilmarnock game today.

He's just turned 7 years old and he's been to a couple of Ayr games. He says he's Ayr daft and wears the shirt but I'm unsure if he's only doing that to please me, his Ayr supporting dad 🤔

Roxanne had a go at me because I don't want him going. She said I'm raising him an Ayr fan to avoid the old firm nonsense but apparently the killie situation is causing the same amount of drama 🙄

Do I let him go with his friend? Or do I stick to my guns here and put the foot down and teach him further about DKB and why they are bad?

what do I do in this situation?

    There’s only one option here…..

    Divorce.

Are you just choosing to miss out the part where I said if we narrowly missed out but there were signs of significant improvement then that would maybe be acceptable?

Depends on your definition of narrowly…..

Just think it’s asking a lot for a club that have finished in the top 4 twice in 20 years to go from 8th to 4th in one season when we will be starting the season with 5 or 6 new players in the starting line up.

Surely there is a middle ground - are we really happy to spend a season simply avoiding a relegation scrap? IMO, we quite clearly should be looking to challenge for the playoffs at the right end.

That sounds like another season of utter shite. Do all the work off the park as you want, but if all we are looking for on it is to avoid relegation then the rest all becomes a bit pointless.

Of course there is a middle ground. If we finish mid table, I’d imagine at times we’d have been in the mix for top 4.

I wouldn’t say the season has been a failure if we don’t finish top 4. Rome wasn’t built in a day, we’re in the middle of a long term project. It might take us a couple of seasons to get the right mix.

Jury is still very much out on Bullen. While there was a slight improvement when he came in it wasn’t big enough to say he’s definitely the right person to lead us forward long term. Just as a comparison the impact Dougie Imrie made at Morton is much more impressive than the one Bullen made.  That being said I do feel more confident having him in charge rathe thanKerr/Hopkin/Duffy.

Given the quality of the league I’d regard anything other than top 4 a failure this season. If we narrowly miss out but we can see there has been significant improvement then that may also be acceptable.

We still require at least 1 CB hopefully 2 and an attacking midfielder that is going to chip in with 5+ goals as asking Dipo to match Tomis total from last season is a big ask.

You can’t be serious, are you? Less than top 4 a failure??

we’ve finished 8th 2 years in a row in a leagues containing a poor Morton team, a Hamilton team in free fall. Raith who signed a rapist then imploaded and part time Arbroath.

We should be content to not be involved in a relegation scrap this year.
