  1. Does anyone remember the outcome of Ian Murray’s last visit to the Rock with St Mirren? Who was Dumbarton manager that day?
  2. I sell jam in my shop. Don’t think I’ve ever sold a jar to anyone younger than me. I take it you’re in that demographic?
  3. I remember Paul Hartley resigning from Alloa after a 5-1 defeat from Dumbarton. He might be keen to get back into the game at the level where he has a track record. Or might we just find ourselves in a new jam? ( probably only OKI will get this)
  4. A wee question for you. My grandfather's family were from Forfar and there has always been the story in the family that one of his brothers played for The Loons. Do you guys have a club history which includes all games, teams etc? If so, I'd be grateful if someone could check if Alec (or Alex) Glen who lived in Gallowshade, played for Forfar in the 1920s or 1930s? I'd be interested to know if he did indeed play for the club.
  5. Funny, I was chairing a sportsman's dinner in Dumbarton in April where Jim Leishman was speaking. We spoke about Froxy and Leish didn't rate him. At the time I was incredulous that he wasn't getting a game for Sons. All his skill is with the ball. Give him the ball. https://www.facebook.com/froxylias1993/videos/10214331863468353/
  6. Wait until there’s a director younger than you.....
  7. Our competitors are signing players left right and centre. Literally.
  8. On the goalkeeping front I see David Hutton who played for Arbroath against us is available. Also former Dunfermline and East Fife keeper, Ryan Goodfellow. http://pfascotland.co.uk/Membership-Benefits/player-availability-list/
  9. I think he'll have a number of offers Wilf, and perhaps a return to the junior ranks could be lucrative for him. Relations between Garry and SA were hardly brilliant at the end too. Good luck to Froxy for the international v Jordan tomorrow. She's quite a formidable woman but you have to fancy Cyprus
  10. I think he'll have a number of offers Wilf, and perhaps a return to the junior ranks could be lucrative for him. Relations between Garry and SA were hardly brilliant at the end too. I heard that but I think he could still do a job..... ETA from Alloa P&B thread "Fleming has been brilliant for us this season after moving back into the middle of the park. I have enjoyed watching him. Brilliant range of passing and he will certainly get another club. After a sluggish start he certainly made an impact . All the best Gary and thanks for the memories."
  11. Anyone think we should re-sign Garry? I think we could do worse.....
  12. There are already many comments and pictures appearing in social media.
  13. Earl and Countess of Dumbarton when in Scotland. Surely Sonstrust should send them a couple of forms and invite them to a game?
  14. I think it was Celtic who started all that football family malarkey. I’ve got a big enough family thank you. Players, officials and fellow supporters are acquaintances and friends. When I hear all that #sonsfamily stuff it gives me the dry boak. I have nothing against Aitken's Army, they support the team in their own way and they’re all decent folk. I couldn’t treat every game like a carnival - I’m quite a happy guy but no that happy.
  15. I think the training facilities thing with Russell might be just to see if he thinks he can still do a job - however it would have to be in his more accustomed position. Why the f*ck Handling has been offered a deal is beyond my comprehension.
  16. Don't agree with that. The Trust has to be able to act independently sometimes. However, the Trust does effectively produce the club website via Alan Findlay.
  17. You can be a hard man OK and whilst I admire your exacting standards, I think one has to reflect and recognise who we are and what position we occupy. Sometimes DFC is in fact too wee and too poor to attract world beaters. Walsh will have a decent career without troubling the Premiership, much like that enjoyed by Beanie. It was a pity we got him back when the music stopped. I'd be happy to see Hutton stay.
  18. I think I detect the flowing hand of Simon Barrow on that. Does anyone know what has happened to the Club Officials link on the website?
  19. Just wished him good luck on Twitter. He's been a good servant to the club.
