  1. There's an interesting piece here from 2014 in which Rankine is full of his typical bluster and the late Gilbert Lawrie identifies "One man within Brabco" as the guarantor for Rankine's money. Neil would never have accepted being owed that amount by a limited company with no guarantee.
  2. Is that really the choice? I'd certainly choose winning the trophy over finishing eighth.....
  3. They've played a game fewer but you never know. Robertson was on Radio Scotland last night and he seemed to still believe that they could make the (promotion) play-offs. They probably have the same chance of that as we have of avoiding the relegation ones but you never know.....
  4. I was at reception last night after the game. Froxy was just leaving and Stevie had just finished his interviews. Stevie called out “Jimmy!” and he came back in. Aitken put an arm round his shoulder and shook him warmly by the hand and said ”cheers”. I think he’s the type of player who appreciates appreciation. A small thing perhaps but decent man management.
  5. It wasn’t one of his better games last night but he still scored the winning goal and worked hard. I think you could compile an even more convincing list for the Irn Bru Cup.
  6. Really? I haven’t heard that one before.
  7. A solicitor friend in the Falkirk area tells me that the case isn’t going ahead tomorrow.
  8. It’s not without precedent for the council to go against its officers but I feel that the way this news has come out means that is probably unlikely. I don’t know if Rankine‘s court action has been timed for the cash injection coming the club's way next week or it’s a happy coincidence (for Rankine) I suspect the latter. Facts are known here. The council have sent out a smoke signal to say that Dalmoak is not happening and Brabco 736, whose entire strategy is based on it happening are being pursued for £200,000 which they don’t have. All they have is the majority shareholding in a football club and ownership of a stadium and land. On the Rankine debt it will depend what, if any guarantees are in place. Knowing Rankine as I do I suspect there will be a guarantee of some kind.
  9. It’s against Brabco 736 whose only asset is its shares in DFC whose only asset is the stadium and land.
  10. Waiting to find out the facts? On Pie and Bovril? On Sons Sorrow? Ok.
  11. Considering the yards of conversations and racour on here before about Dalmoak, I'm surprised that the last 24 hours' news hasn't elicited more response. These two news items (Rankine v Brabco and the naw to Dalmoak) are probably the most serious threat to the club's future since 1996.

  13. Indeed Neil Rankine v BRABCO 736 LIMITED a company incorporated under the Companies Acts and having their registered offices at 17 George Street, St Helens, Merseyside, WA10 1DB FAL-A6-18 Liddle & Anderson
  14. Apparently we get the yellow section at the end of the main stand. Dear SPFL, Naw.
  15. I would think that the proportion of those travelling by train or car will be higher than was the case in going to Shropshire. There were two coachloads (100 or so) at Oswestry but roughly 500 there supporting Sons. If we apply even the same ratio as that we *could* be looking at about 2500 going as it stands. We supposedly took 2,000 to Celtic Park for a cup tie in 2007. I was there and would say that was a pretty fair estimate. We were in the third division at that time.
  16. I think we’re all waiting for news on the tickets.
  17. I don't think he'd be keen on Rhapsody in Blue however.
  18. I'm sure those of you on Twitter will want to reply to this twat, sorry, tweet.
  19. Frank McTominay was in the year below me at Hermitage. Good lad and a decent footballer himself.
