  1. I've never understood why the Compare the Market meerkat "puppets" have Russian accents and names. Whilst it doesn't exactly keep me awake wondering, it does bother me slightly that I may be the only person who doesn't know the reason. And yes, apparently my life can be so boring at times that such things bug me.
  2. I'll take your word on that as I have no idea who she or clean bandit are.
  3. A fine instrument between her legs which she strokes lovingly. A Chello is the same as a cello but more friendly to play. ETA; Don't know what happened with that double quote.
  4. ^^^ This. I'm not really interested how many km a football player has run in comparison to his team's average, or how many % successful passes were made to teammates or misplaced. Commentators also like to throw in a lot of trivial stats as if to prove how smart they are. Things like "The player coming on as a sub actually played 15 minutes of a reserve game for an English League 2 side in 2008 whilst on loan from a Moldovian club." Aye very good pal but hardly relevant to the game your commentating on.
  5. It's taking me a bit of time to get used to the new format also. Is there no autosave of previous content now?
  6. People with "Caution, Baby on Board" or "Little Princess on Board" stickers in their car windows. In a lot of cases these people usually drive like arseholes and are more of a danger to their little darlings than other drivers will ever be. Also certain drivers who insist on driving big cars and 4 x 4's but who obviously struggle to manoeuvre and park their vehicles.
  7. The use of the term "early doors". Where did it even originate. Isn't it just as easy to say "early on"? People in the left lane who cut you up at roundabouts by not following the lane they are in and instead take a straight line across the inner lane and nearly taking your front wing off. The BBC's over the top coverage of Glastonbury. OK to have one channel and possibly red button covering it but sometimes it is on 3 channels and red button.(or maybe just feels like it) The television coverage of the UK Brexit vote which gives the reporters added opportunity to talk about "withdraw-Ring"and "withdraw-Ral". That tall Welsh man on the Ch4 Formula 1 coverage. I miss Suzy Perry.
  8. These European Championships, too many action replays whilst the game is still going on and spectators more interested in looking at themselves on the big screens than watching the game. Also coaches and their assistants who cover their mouth when speaking to each other in case someone is lip-reading. What's the big secret? I've noticed the same with tennis players during doubles games, hand over the mouth when talking to each other. And their habit of "fist-bumping" after every point whether they win it or lose it.
  9. Depending on type of door, facings (architraves) you want then about £400 would be a fair estimate, including plasterwork. Finishing the plasterwork off adequately and good decoration is important as the shape of the arch can still be noticeable if this is not done properly.
  10. Sorry pal, I almost feel embarrassed about posting it (almost).
  11. I should mark this question "SRS" but that would be a waste of time. What is the legal situation with using these electric mobility vehicles being driven on the roads. The past few mornings I have encountered one being driven on a busy country road leading into town, the road has no pavement and quite a few blind corners and is used a lot by lorries, buses, etc. It doesn't seem to bother the old chap driving it as he tootles along at about 4mph but it doesn't look very safe or sensible to me. Well done to the old chap for getting around as well as he does but I fear for his safety.
  12. Are conductors only required on electric trains?
  13. My PTTGOYN is discussions (arguments) about who is the best football player. It's a generational thing, you could go back as far as Stanley Mathews, where would he be on peoples' list. The way the game is played is constantly changing and comparing players of 10, 20 or 50 years ago against today's best players seems a bit futile to me. My more frustrating PTTGOYN is when you put your car in for repair and they say it will be ready the same day only to get a phone call late in the afternoon telling you it's not quite ready and will take another couple of hours the next morning. The car is a bit of an old jalopy to be fair which is why I don't kick up too much of a fuss in case they tell me not to bring it back to them again.
  14. Ceiling, walls, woodwork in that order I would say.
  15. And no doubt a few of these will go on to have successful careers as "celebrities" and role models for the gullible without having any talent at all. Talking of which I see a trailer for a new programme with Joey Essex where he puts on his usual "thick as shit" act (at least I hope it's an act). Can anybody actually be that thick. He'll be getting well paid for acting like a twat which is the most infuriating thing about it.
  16. At a guess I would say it is another sarcastic comment directed at the Commercial Dep't because of the cancellation of the music concert. What some don't appreciate is that there are plenty of instances where more experienced people have had to cancel events such as plays and concerts when ticket demand does not reach expected levels. Queens are not the first and definitely wont be the last to suffer because of this. The BoD are at least trying to bring money in from various sources in an effort to keep Season Ticket and admission prices down amongst other things, with more success than failure I would say. I wonder how many of the regulars who have a pop at the Commercial Department and BoD would be happy if these things were not tried out and the price of admission went up regularly each season.
  17. As sorry as I am to hear of the death of Mohammad Ali, I can't help but feel the media has, once again, gone a bit OTT following the death of a "celebrity". I am old enough to remember him starting out as a boxer and he grabbed the attention of the public with not only his boxing skill but his public image and theatrical style, I'm just not sure that his sad demise merits the amount of air time and column inches it is getting.
  18. Anyone know if Conroy or Jacobs have been offered new deals or are any other clubs showing an interest. I'm not too fussed about Conroy tbh but Jacobs might be worth another chance as he can fill in at several positions. Maybe players' holidays are hindering things being clarified.
  19. FFS, life and soul of the party this pair. ^^^^^. I dread to think what they post on a serious thread. Grimbo, how did you get out of Tesco without the security scanner sounding if the shirt still had the tag on it?
  20. I can see a few television screens getting booted in during the Euros with Hoddle, Ian Wright and Lee Dixon providing the "expert" analysis. What's happened to Andy Townsend? I didn't mind Andy tbh.
  21. CJ gets on my wick when he gets knocked out of the Final round and then pulls a sarcastic face when someone gets a question wrong as if to say everyone should know that. You weren't smart enough to get to the final so you're in no position to mock others ya tube. Yes it is the lawnmower and there's no need to call someone a dick.
  22. .... and free for old b*****ds like me with a bus pass. All over the country (Scotland anyway and Carlisle) I can go at the tax-payers expense so I'll put up with the sometimes dubious habits and behaviour of fellow passengers. Thank-you.
  23. Missed that. Where's he off to or is he staying at Utd?
