  1. Only read a couple which weren't signed. He's generous with the greenies if you mention him anyway. Good lad is Spartans Telly, Grimbo, Spartans Telly, Grimbo.
  2. I've only re-visited the General Nonsense Thread a couple of times recently. Has Grimbo re-incarnated himself as Spartans Telly? If he did it as some kind of witness protection scheme he's giving himself away by posting the usual keech, and amassing plenty of red dots.
  3. Man goes to doctor complaining about a rash covering his body. The doc examines him and says it's probably an allergic reaction to the washing powder his clothes are washed in and to give his clothes an extra cold water rinse after washing. "I can't help but notice that for a white man you have an exceptionally brown scrotum but it otherwise seems normal." At home the man tells his wife that she needs to give his clothes an extra cold water rinse. "Fuxake", she replies, "I've got five young weans to look after, this house to keep clean, a part time job to do and you want me to give your clothes an extra rinse. I've hardly got enough time to to wipe my fuckin' arse properly." "And that's another thing I want to talk to you about" said the man.
  4. Agreed that the Rangers vote was embarrassing and upset a lot of fans but it did not really have a direct impact on the actual running of the Club at the time, it only made the Chairman and Board look a bit stupid. Even if a fans rep had been in place at the time it's doubtful if our vote would have been any different.
  5. You've got Hilson on your list, is he anywhere near fit yet? Noticed he was not on crutches spectating at the Dumbarton game.
  6. I'm struggling to think of a list with plenty of contentious stuff that the Board has been responsible for. Yes, there have been a couple of issues I would list that, on the face of it, were not handled particularly well. The dealings with the so called Young Team, faults on both sides imo, signing players without a Manager in place. Skelton's hiring and eventual departure and the Interim Managers role in this. I doubt if a non-voting supporter's rep on the Board would have had much if any effect on these issues however. To be clear, I don't consider myself a "forelock tugger" just an ordinary supporter who, from the outside, considers that the current Board has achieved more "pros" than "cons" over the past few years. I won't be too upset either way if a fans rep is eventually put on the Board or not, but for some to be suggesting that it's essential as the club is being so poorly run is a poor basis for mounting the campaign. I eagerly await a list from disgruntled supporters why they think the Board are not doing a reasonable job and what difference a fans rep would or could have changed things.
  7. I am not a Trust member but have often thought it would be a good idea to join and help out the Club even in my own small way. I was of the belief that the Trust's aim was to help and promote the Club through fundraising events and any other practical ways it could. Going by recent posts it appears that this is not the case and I am a bit confused as to what the actual aims of the Trust are. Perhaps someone would be kind enough to explain the Trust's role in connection with the Club as I genuinely seem to have the wrong impression of the work it does and what it's aims are.
  8. His daddy was a Director at Saints. Not saying that was the reason but it helps.
  9. Maybe SD or someone in the know can confirm if hospital radio still broadcast at our home games. It is just anecdotal evidence but I heard it was maybe stopped during the Gus season as recovering patients were suffering relapses when listening to our games.
  10. I'm not sure if there is still hospital radio as such but, going back a couple of years, it was a Pay-per- Listen service if you wanted to listen to any radio on the hospital's system which I would say reduced the demand for listening on a system which used to be free.
  11. Probably nearer the first figure than either of the other two I would think. I thought he did ok on his debut, nothing spectacular but a competent start considering he was put straight into the team with minimal preparation. He could maybe have done better in the lead up to United's third goal when he backed off the advancing winger and let him get the cross in but others were just as culpable in allowing them that scoring chance so probably unfair to single him out. It's maybe a bit unfair to give an appraisal after just one or two games, likewise with our other recent acquisitions, so I'll wait 'til they have five or six games under their belt before getting carried away. Early indications are favourable however.
  12. Yes, I appreciate that. I'm not entirely sure of the payment procedure for loanees, presumably they are costing the Club money to be here. Can we afford to pay a fee and wages for another midfielder when other positions need to be filled. Also there may be the prospect, hopefully, of one or two of the injured midfielders, thinking of Hilson and Pickard, coming back tho I'mnot sure of what stage their recovery is at. We also have Bell who has had a couple of appearances.
  13. Bring in another midfielder? I wouldn't have thought so having just brought 3 in.
  14. I thought we were rumoured to be interested in Mark Stewart from Raith Rovers. I haven't seen any mention of that recently. Maybe it was just that, a rumour.
  15. I personally thought Hooper did ok anytime he was used. He had a good game in the Cup win up at Hibs earlier this season but dropped back out of the squad for a while after that then picked up an injury in training or U20's. As has already been said he has failed to establish himself under a few managers so maybe best for him to move on. Getting regular games at a lower level may help him in the long run.
  16. Personally I've often wondered if this type of position is really necessary or just jobs for your pals. We play in a 10 team division playing each other a minimum of 4 times per season, apart from maybe the early season games and maybe when a club brings in a raft of new players you will pretty much know the opposition system and preferred method of playing. If you are playing a team from a different division in a cup game then the Manager can surely get to see them himself, they are always highlighting how many hours they put in not only with their own players but going to watch other games. It seems a bit pointless to employ someone to specifically do this job ahead of every game but I suppose it sounds good to the supporters that we have this ultra-professional approach to games.
  17. Certainly according to one of today's newspapers Airdrie have shown an interest in taking both players. Higgins is certainly experienced enough CH and could still do a job. He can also fill in at left back if needed. He can be a bit too casual at times for my liking but I confess I'm not one of his biggest fans and plenty of other QoS supporters feel he should be a regular starter. Anderson would be a good signing if he can re-discover his early season form. He can take men on and get some good crosses in, good attitude as far as I could see. He's also very good in the air for corners, etc. Struggled to maintain a regular starting spot recently but he was one of the reasons we had such a good run early in the season. FWIW I would have liked him to stay but he's obviously not in our Manager's plans.
  18. Did Naysmith take advantage of his concussed state when he asked him to sign for us?
  19. When Millar came here a lot of supporters thought he could do a job, now most seem glad to see the back of him. Past reputation counts for nothing it's what these players do now that matters. If his signings prove to be good ones then he'll deserve the praise, I'm not getting over-excited 'til I see some proof on the park. As for Skelton, history will show that he was Manager when Grant Anderson, one of our best players early in the season, Hamill and Stephen Dobbie signed (whether he had much say in this is a different matter) so he didn't do too bad considering our early season form.
  20. Disappointed if true about Hooper, I didn't think he got a fair crack at establishing himself in the squad. He had a great game in the Cup game up at Hibs but then dropped right out of the picture. I know he picked up an injury after that but since he's been back and available I thought he might get the odd game rather that move Brownlie out to a position he's clearly not comfortable at. As for Brotherston's "attitude problems" it strikes me that he may not be the only young player on the books who has this problem.
  21. It would be just the thing for Millar to join another Championship Club and start to put in the kind of performances that we all hoped he would do for us. It won't be the first time rejected players have come back to haunt us. As for Naysmith's releases and signing(s), I'll reserve judgement to see if there is any improvement in results before I start praising him.
  22. Going by some of the Falkirk fans' views that may not be far from the truth. Fans have widely differing views about players, let's hope the negative ones are proved wrong. Whilst his signing doesn't get me all excited I'll reserve judgement to give him time to settle in.
