  1. They probably watch too much Eastenders or TOWIE so they probably are simpletons.
  2. Oak trees of similar age grow exactly the identical number of leaves each year. No other species of tree does this.
  3. I hate it when they grab the knob and twist without asking first.
  4. The last known recorded words of singer Perry Como were " Shut that tape recorder off, I'm not recording any more."
  5. His loan signings were good until he started chopping and changing, whether Rankin and Mercer were is arguable. Rankin is hardly picking up many plaudits from the fans and Mercer's not even getting a game from the bench now. Maybe he's still dizzy from the runaround he got V St. Mirren.
  6. Like all new Managers, Naysmith wanted to put his stamp on the team when he came in. I believe he told certain behind-the-scenes individual(s) not to interfere in 1st team football. If true then was a positive and required start. I think however he may have upset a few in the ranks by immediately stripping the Club Captain and Assistant Captain of their positions and bringing in a new player and giving him the Captain's armband. His after-match comments also don't seem aimed at fostering good team spirit. Despite him saying after Saturday's game that he is not in the habit of publicly criticising players he had done it on several occasions. I think under Skelton there appeared to be a good spirit within the squad. That was seriously eroded under the Interim Manager as performances got worse, and Naysmith doesn't appear to have been able to restore a positive team spirit. Maybe just a feeling on my part but there seems to be factions within the squad. We'll have to wait and see who comes and who goes in the summer and maybe when he has brought more of his own men in we will see players who want to play for him.
  7. Sally Magnusson owns one-fifth share of the largest sheep farm in Western Australia.
  8. Countdown's Rachel Riley is the Patron and Honorary Lifetime President of the Corporation of Women Industrial Developers and as such is listed as Rachel Riley (Cor. WID) on their official letterhead.
  9. At the big Council Car Park in town, plenty of all day parking spaces in the morning, yet some drivers persist in parking on the access road making it single lane, and you are forced to give way to other cars when you are driving in or out. Drive another 20 yards you lazy twats and park in the proper spaces.
  10. If getting a kitchen fitted don't get the same man to fit it as a bloke I know. Small kitchen about 2.4 m square, worked on it for about 2 weeks and it never seemed to get any further forward. He also kept asking for money for materials which he'd had already plus he had a young helper who was a bit of a tealeaf. The bloke ordered the wrong worktops and wanted cash to supply the right ones as well. The customer eventually told him to sling his hook. Ended up the customer's grandson, who's a lawyer, finished the kitchen off in about 2 nights, wall units, finishings, decoration, the lot. If this kitchen fitter offers to do the work give him a wide berth. His name's Pat Phelan.
  11. It's maybe fate so I don't waste so much of my day posting on forums.
  12. This type of scenario came to mind following the Lennon/Duffy spat at Easter Road and everyone was building up the next meeting between their clubs when more fisticuffs were predicted. As is usually the case it was all handshakes and hugs when they did meet.
  13. Thanks I'll try that. The windows down, heater on cure didn't work anyway.
  14. Sony Xperia about 18 months old. Had similar problem last week trying to delete texts but the delete function key at top right kept going to phone mode but it rectified itself. Hope this does the same. On a contract anyway so maybe get a replacement.
  15. Problems wi my mobile trying to write texts, etc as the end letter next to the o, the p one, won't work and always shows as o. Thought it was my stubby fingers to blame but it's not. Predictive text being used to correct things but I'm getting some strange choices. Also got to print longer words so I can delete letters to get the letter p. Slow work as my keyboard skills are not quick anyway. Is my mobile knackered?
  16. Can't see any report/score for last night's U20's V Mids game on the OS. Anyone got info?
  17. Bassard banks building your hopes up with an offer of increasing your credit then pulling the rug away a few days before it's due to increase, then a few months later coming back with the offer again. Make your mind up kantz.
  18. Banks/Building Societies advertising campaigns making them out to be caring, compassionate and friendly. Aye right. We'll help you out but we won't mention it will cost you a fortune to pay back. Halifax: Come in Mr. Top Cat, you're homeless, no money, no problem, here have as much as you want. Let's at least have a wee bit of reality.
  19. Funnily enough (or maybe not) this topic came to mind the other day. Back in the "good old days" you would never dream of going out with rips in your jeans for fear of being branded a scruff, now my old work jeans are the height of fashion. Fashionable haircuts as well have completely reversed. Nowadays it's trendy to have a lopsided hairstyle with possibly a few stripes cut into it as well. If my barber had done this when I was a youth he would be branded a hair butcher and wouldn't get much trade. You got a short, back and sides and that was it. Kids with "bowl cut" hairstyle used to be pitied as it usually meant their parents cut it themselves 'cos they couldn't afford the barber, now that style is "in". They say if you keep something long enough it will come back into fashion, that's all well and good but my flared trousers and corduroy Beau Brummel style jacket will probably be a bit tight on me now.
  20. "Mumbling" Paul Lambert as a studio pundit. SPEAK UP MAN. Him and Hoddle on the same panel, fuckin hell BT Sport, are you trying to chase viewers away?
  21. When they first came out my other half said she wanted a selfie stick as a present. I refused until she explained it wasn't a female pleasuring toy. Truth or Lie?
  22. The choice of opposition was nothing to do with the Club, would you rather that the club withdrew facilities for the game because a rangers legend team is the opposition, chosen by the player and his organising committee. The match is about supporting Derek Lyle. Who would you have as opponents?
  23. I would hazard a guess that almost all Scottish players have a "liking" for either Celtic or rangers, especially if they come from the Central belt. I would be surprised if many Queens fans did not have an inkling of which one Del favoured. As SD points out it is not the Club who pick the opposition. At the end of the day the occasion is to honour a player for his loyalty and raise funds for him in the process. Whatever your feelings are regarding rangers or Celtic, and I can't stand either of them, they are probably the only opposition which will generate a decent crowd. I believe it is a ranger's legends team so in that small respect they don't really have any connection with the rangers 2012 version. It would be interesting to hear which opposition the "objectors" would prefer that would be willing to fulfil this fixture and who would bring a decent support.
  24. By his own admission he has now decided to be more attack minded rather than have a more defensive mindset and you can see the change over the last two games. Admittedly Dundee Utd's defence was poor and Ayr were poor all over but the football on show was a lot better than we had seen for a while before that. Playing Dobbie alone up front was strange, he hasn't got electric pace, needs the ball to his feet, not chasing long balls punted forward. Naysmith's preferred tactic of goal-kicks/clearances being punted to a tall wide man I find infuriating as we more often than not lose possession too easily, thankfully there is an bit more variation now. We could also do with a bit more variety at throw-ins, some short, some long and some taken quickly. As for the players he recruited in January, loan players Thomas and Thomson are a definite plus, Rankin is, in my opinion, average and got too long a contract, and Mercer I'm afraid is playing a division too high. He's still young can be made as an excuse but he was brought in to do a job as a Championship player. My overall feeling about Naysmith is probably disappointment the he has finally got the team playing (fairly) entertaining football with a more positive approach but unfortunately he has been too late in changing his outlook to give us a better chance of maintaining a play-off challenge. He will no doubt be here next season, we'll see how he fairs when he is responsible for pre-season and moulding a team more of his choosing.
