  1. When working at people's houses and they ask if you would like a tea or coffee. Me: " No thanks but a glass of water would be fine." Customer: " There's cans of juice in the fridge if you want one" Me: " No, a glass of water would be great, thanks" Customer: " Do you want some diluting orange in it?" Me: " Water's fine thanks." Customer eventually brings the glass of water. "Are you sure you don't want juice or a can from the fridge?" Fuxake, why do people have to make something simple into a major event.
  2. Ex Queens man Iain Russell has hung up his boots according to today's papers. Finished his career at his favourite Club, Airdrie. Wants to spend more time with his family. He had the knack of exciting you and infuriating you in equal measure. He had off-field issues which were well publicised. Wishing him all the best for the future.
  3. I went with my wife to one of her school reunions. She and her old school chums started calling each other by the nicknames from their school days. They kept referring to my wife as satchel. Turns out she was the school bag.
  4. I've seen a similar trick with ping-pong balls but never with golf or tennis balls. She must have some set of lady part muscles.
  5. "Echo what others have said. Solid defender, good on the ball, will help young players. Personally I would like to have seen him kept on here but the Manager wants his own men in. All the best to him.
  6. A "friend with benefits" who bides-in for you visiting her. An informal partner as opposed to a hooker.(I hope). f**k sharing a house with her, visiting her a couple of times a week and getting fed and watered is a better situation. Unfortunately that means she controls the telly.
  7. I put this on PTTGOYN a while ago but it's relevant here. When the bidie-in says she wants to watch a tv programme that you have no interest in and she proceeds to yap all the way through it. Also her taste in music, "modern jazz" wtf is that even about.
  8. Yes I do know about the Ignore feature which is why I can't understand why I'm still reading your posts. (Only kidding, got no-one on ignore.) Yet.
  9. I'm not entirely sure but I think you're basically agreeing with what I was saying about Naysmith's tactics. The ball goes out of play when hoofed out wide on more than the " odd occasion", I would say about 75% are wasted. Also I'm not sure what your last sentence is supposed to mean to be honest. By the way it is possible to have differing views and discuss them without resorting to name calling. It's attitudes like yours which drive people away from these sites.
  10. In my view, even when Lyle starts beside Dobbie we try the high ball from the back for Lyle to flick on, sometimes more central but mostly out wide, result most times is possession lost. That's not a criticism of Lyle (or Dykes if he is playing) but more the keepers poor kick-outs and the Manager's reluctance to change what obviously isn't worth persevering with. Of all the things that got me seething last season I would say watching balls being launched out of the park from goal-kicks and clearances is def at no. 1.
  11. I've always rated Mark Stewart, only seen him play against us though. He is a "busy" striker, pushing up on the opposition defence, not letting them settle. If he did sign I would be disappointed, but not surprised,, if Dykes was picked over him as Naysmith obviously prefers a tall target man to hoof the ball up to. Lyle, being good in the air, is often deployed for this tactic also but I have doubts if he is still a 90 minute man. I wouldn't be too upset if Stewart did sign but as others have said, other positions are probably more in need of attention.
  12. I stand corrected, It appears I do know what it's called. Teletext is shorter though and basically the same thing.
  13. Black and white too, f**k paying all that money for a colour licence to watch the shite they put on.
  14. The BBC red button text service, I've no idea what it's called, it's on the tele and it's text so that's Teletext. Is Ceefax still on the go then?
  15. The sections draw was made last week, the fixtures were released a couple of hours ago.
  16. A bit late with this but never mind, it's still annoying. Cup draws on Teletext, they pick out a few fixtures to tell you about but ignore the rest of draw. Example: Betfred League Cup Draw last week they told us there was a Dundee derby and an Ayrshire Derby, that was basically it. Why don't they simply show the complete draw, not too difficult nor would it take up any more pages.
  17. There's a Domestic Cup Forum which includes the Betfred. Not much more info on there about fixtures tbh.
  18. I've heard Annan's wages are determined by how successful Henry's bets are, but I personally couldn't say if that's true.
  19. Welcome to our friends from the Highland Capital. Looking forward to a couple of trips up there this season.
  20. I'm surprised that no University or Government Department has carried out a survey linking dog ownership to illiteracy. It's the only conclusion I can think of when the cycle path /walkway I often use has plenty of signs saying dogs must be kept on leads and clean up after your dog seem to be completely ignored. Either that or most dog owners, around here anyway, just don't give a damn.
  21. Ex Queens player Dan Orsi wins the Junior Cup with Glenafton Athletic, set up their first goal too. I always thought he showed potential but unfortunately never seemed the same for us coming back from injury. We'll done anyway and commiserations to Tucker Sloan the Auchinleck Talbot Manager.
  22. Domestic Cup Football Forum may have this information but I'm sure it's mentioned in earlier posts on here too. I think it's this midweek. Edit: Did a quick check and no word of when fixtures will be announced.
  23. It seems to be Queens' policy not to discuss possible transfer or signing targets before the deal is completed. I can quite accept that, so regular interviews with the Manager in the early part of the close season would be fairly fruitless I would think. Plus everyone, even football managers, are surely entitled to a break.
  24. I also noticed that the ICT thread on the Championship thread had been locked before GTF day but the Brechin City one wasn't. Maybe I don't understand the rules.
  25. They probably didn't bother feeding the cat either. For future reference, and security, give them a spare key and keep a key for yourself, simples.
