  1. Apart from Motherwell, none of the teams I really wanted tbh. Will Queens Park push on from last season or fall away? As 19QOS19 says, decent chance of 2nd in the group if Bartley recruits decently. Still a feel of pre-season preparation about these games though.
  2. You'll only get positive reports from us I think. Very able keeper, no keeper's flawless but he'll do well in the Championship. A good signing for both parties.
  3. Fuxake, looks like we'll have to get the bailiffs in to evict this lot. They just don't want to leave.
  4. They did basically save us from certain relegation in the Rowe/Eadie era by being docked 12 points (or was it 15) for failing to fulfil a fixture, no surprise they've been clawing those points back from us gradually (with interest) since then. Always had a soft spot for Accies since that time but hoping we can come out on top against them this season.
  5. I think she put a cross in the "no publicity" box. Never let anyone in Thornhill know you've won money, your circle of friends will increase rapidly. Edit to add: SD has just blown that hasn't he.
  6. Not long for you to wait now, hopefully we'll all meet again - in the Championship - sooner rather than later. Wouldn't want to "Falkirk" it down here too long. Best of luck to Pars and Diamonds.
  7. Or to put it another way, he was mince in that spell, and Johnston and then Gibson giving him the game time that they did was a joke. Easy to say in hindsight after his exploits of the season just ended, but maybe if they'd used Paton more often and more effectively up front instead of out wide I'd hazard a guess we would have scored a few more goals. MT's a wee bit harsh blaming Cameron's ineptitude as a striker for our relegation but when you need your striker(s) to outscore the goals being conceded you expect a wee bit better return for chances created that he managed.
  8. I'm sure a lot of Queens fans wondered if Dykes and Obileye were good enough at the time to cut it in the Premiership. Rhuari might make it with having better training and players around him.
  9. Aye, remember him in that game. Think he was only over here during the close season in Canada/America for experience.
  10. Didn't recognise the name until the Canadian link was mentioned. Think his dad played in Scotland before emigrating. His dad might have been a pal of Naysmith or one the coaching staff. Can't say I recall the lad being exceptionally good or bad, just an inexperienced average player. Think he was on the fringes at Vancouver Whitecaps. I'm sure he also played at a decent level of ice hockey in Canada.
  11. Seems fine now ta, must have disabled something when re-setting.
  12. Reset my phone to factory settings, got logged back in to P&B, getting notifications of others posting, etc, but can't quote ( no quote button showing) or post as the Reply box doesn't open. Not on app but Chrome.
  13. Chat on here from a few clubs fans would be happy to sign him. Of course would like him back here but we've got 3 (?) keepers signed up now. Think he'll be aiming for something a bit higher tbf.
  14. ^^^^ Very much this. Can look good going forward and has a good shot on him but not really consistent enough. Maybe played carrying an injury in mid season so don't want to be too hard but had a couple of 'mares.
  15. If Dumbarton fans thought Gregor Buchanan was above decent then Durnan will have nothing to fear.
  16. We'll be well down the list of Clubs that Premiership players are interested in imo. Livi probably won't be paying massive wages (by Premiership standards), Greenacres will know if that's true, but unless they are young players lookin to stay full time, or older pros seeing out they're careers, we probably can't afford them. Marv will let us know soon enough if there's any signing news.
  17. That's the problem though, there's actually very little (or no) QoS football related things to discuss at the present time. Of course we could all start listing players that we hope to sign, what formation Bartley prefers, etc, but that's pointless as its all speculation, and until news comes out of the Club of anything remotely football related we are all just filling time with trivial matters. Edit to add: if you want to discuss football related matters it's maybe better if you realise that resigning and re-signing are different things, and it's confusing if you use the wrong one. Almost as bad as putting an extra m in Doonhamers.
  18. No honestly I can't do links. Someone usually kindly obliges. See post above
  19. Are you joking, takes me all my time to work my phone. Also in Courier: Bartley says he's been in contact with Rico Quitongo. He has been offered club facilities for his injury re-hab. His contract has expired and no talks on renewing but he has the support of the Club until he's fit. And no I can't do a link.
  20. Bartley in today's Standard rubbishing claims that we have made offers to sign Daniel Church and Josh McPake. Lazy journalism to fill columns he says. I personally wouldn't rule anything out.
  21. Agree about idiots feeding gulls/poorly disposing of food waste being the main problem attracting the gulls, but is the ideal nesting conditions on the old Stand roof not a factor in them returning each year. Surely removing the layers of moss, etc would make it less appealing to them, something that should have been done on a regular basis years ago. The Council claim they have reduced the gull population in the town centre but that only drives the birds out into other surrounding areas like a Palmerston. Surely any netting should have been fitted before now before gulls had started nesting. I get that it's easier to do in the close season but its too late by then.
