  1. Agree, he is just an average League 1 defender that the division is peppered with. He's no stand out but he'll do a job with the right people around him.
  2. It was the current BoD that got us through the financial mismanagement by Rae, the very BoD you continually slate. We were also helped by people writing off loan repayments from the Club plus other income received. And you still haven't named players signed by Chisholm that weren't worth the money.
  3. So basically pushing the boat out to buy better players nearly put us under, exactly what your advocating the current Board does for Bartley now. Who in your opinion were these expensive has - beens we didn't need?
  4. Aye but Billy Hewitson wasn't the Chairman then so Kunter won't be bothered with details. I agree it was about the worst comparison Kunter could have made, but I'm somehow not surprised.
  5. Thanks, I think you explained that before but I couldn't be bothered searching back for it.
  6. I might be talking pish, quite often do, I'm not a shareholder so don't see accounts, but is there not a sum set aside in the accounts allocated for pitch upgrade? Sure someone mentioned it on here. Perhaps Greenacres is the go-to man to ask about finances (or failing that, SD).
  7. We got a (UK) Government grant towards the pitch upgrade (£170,000 rings a bell) I believe, Gretna 2008 got a grant towards upgrading their floodlights at the same time.. Our local Westminster MPs were in the papers heralding the granting of the money which was awarded under each Club's Community Trust Schemes.
  8. Don't know if he was playing with an injury or not but in the first game away to Clyde he was hooked just after half time, didn't look interested and nothing was coming off for him.
  9. Average. Ok going forward when he's in the mood, got a decent strike on him. As has been said by others he's capable of the odd gaff. We kept Hendrie last season and put Quitongo out on loan to Clyde when Bartley came in but, for me, it was 50/50 which one was best. Just an average League 1 player would sum him up.
  10. I'm surprised that someone as negative about the Club as you are bothers to support it at all. Have you ever posted anything positive? You don't like Hewitson, we get it.
  11. It might end up like the 'tea towel' one from a couple of years back, it was widely slated when unveiled but it was surprising the number of people who actually bought it. I'm of the age (and build) now when, luckily, wearing replica shirts is something to be avoided.
  12. I could be (probably am) wrong but was Kabia not just a loan? Would he be classed as a re-signing? I'd be happy enough with Connelly again tbf.
  13. That puts the tin lid on it, if Oliver has a player on toast then they must be very suspect.
  14. So that's a striker and defender signed that have less than positive reviews from previous clubs. I really hope Bartley knows what he's doing.
  15. Sounds like this Doherty boy has got a lot of people to prove wrong about him. Hopefully it turns out to be a good fit and Bartley can get something out of him. Bartley says he's looked at the boy a few times so he must see something to work with.
  16. QotS Kyle Doherty (forward) signs from Clyde on 2 year contract Josh Todd (mid) re-signs on 1 year contract Charlie Cowie (gk) re-signs on 1 year? contract.
  17. In Marv we trust, by by feck he's making it hard to do so.
  18. A wee piece on Stephen Dobbie in today's Sunday Mail talking about his coaching /managerial ambitions, not much about QoS in it to be fair. No link available
  19. Aye, thought that was the story being referred to. It does say players being linked in National newspapers, doesn't mean there was any substance to it at the time, just speculation, and MB was quite right to dismiss it until discussions had taken place. I hope no one is suggesting Marvin was telling porkies.
  20. I never saw or heard him claiming we were or weren't signing Church. He did say any signing would be announced officially when pen had been put to paper.
