  1. You said it first. Good to have a keeper that commands his area too. .
  2. Aye, Botterill just doesn't look confident at all with pens.
  3. Don't forget the penalty shoot-out. Sadly it'll probably be the wrong Queens that win that.
  4. I get the "no goal threat up front" that a few are complaining about, but tbf we didn't exactly set up a lot of chances, Reilly's glancing header was about the best iirc. Too much neat inter-passing between our defenders and midfielders gave East Fife time to get bodies back behind the ball, when we did find our wide men they were well martialled by the defenders. We had a good spell just before the (very harsh) red card when we were well on top but after that it was hoping to hold out and rely on getting through the penalty shoot-out. Not wanting to be labelled a "lump it forward" advocate but East Fife would be delighted to sit back and watch us pass it about in our own half without troubling them too much. Still a very, very slight chance of progressing but realistically it's the start of the League campaign that Marv should be fully concentrating on now.
  5. Messi's got a picture of Dobbie on his wall. Greenacres still wants an experienced big target man in I think. Maybe Marv consults him about signings.
  6. Greenacres will be pleased, a bit of experience in defence. Can't say I'm too disappointed/surprised by the signing, a short term deal, good for both parties, and I doubt he'll expect to play every game once other defenders are back available. Can only wait and see how it goes. Maybe he will be ok at League 1 level.
  7. Logged on now, I must have tried to update password a couple of times cos checked emails and two updates sent, logged in ok with last one. I must have an account too cos they had my card details already so didn't have to enter that. Can't remember watching elgintv before unless they share streaming platform with other clubs where same password and details are used. Hope it's worth the hassle.
  8. Maybe a good thing I'm having bother logging in for the stream if its poor. Site says I already have an account for my email address but I don't think I've ever been on elgintv site before so no idea what password they wanted. I asked for new password which was emailed to me but isn't accepted when entered. It'll be something I'm doing wrong, it usually is, so I'll be relying on P&B or Live updates on the OS to keep informed.
  9. I think the likes of giving out the score after a goal seems to be a bugbear of a few on here, myself included, but just one of a few little thing that can easily be addressed. What would you rather have, someone who does the bear minimum with announcements, no music at half time, etc, or someone who at least tries to inject a bit of life into proceedings. He's got a few flaws but just needs someone to maybe advise him of these niggles. Regards the music playlist which some seem to have an issue with, we've a wide ranging age group of fans, not everyone will like his choice, thought Tuesday nights was good, more my era, but I appreciate more modern music needs to be played as well. He's not perfect but a pleasant change from the previous guy, who I appreciate served the club well.
  10. Apart from one or two little irritations for me which I've mentioned already, and covered by some posts above, I think the new announcer is doing OK, at least trying to build up a bit of excitement. Just a few things need tweaking imo.
  11. You think we'll meet better forward lines in League 1? It might be "the weakest part" of Motherwell team in your mind, maybe not scoring but they still proved a real handful.
  12. Thought Wullie G was a Pars favourite? As for Annan being cloggers, can't say I'm shocked.
  13. Must admit I was wanting someone with a bit more "personality" rather than someone just doing the basics like the previous announcer had got into the habit of doing, but there are some things that this new guy does which can be irritating. As has been said by others, giving out the score after every goal, the way he read out the half-time scores instead of just reading them out normally, wee things like that. He also read out the teams about 15 minutes before kick off but could/should have read them out again just before kick off. Don't want to slag the guy off too much, constructive criticism hopefully, at least he brings a bit of enthusiasm. As for the 'cheesy' playlist, give me more of that anytime.
  14. Aye, QP's transition to Professional status on the park certainly hasn't been matched off it.
  15. Just bought mine for tonight, also tried for a ticket for away at Queens Park but looks like the extra allocation is also sold out. How many tickets were we allocated in total?
  16. I've no idea where in the car park this valeting business is, surely in a corner away from the main approaches. Maybe got an agreement not to operate a few hours before and after match times, I don't know. Sure there's a valeting business runs in Falkirk's car park, even on match days, granted it's a bigger parking area and is segregated but I wonder if they've actually had any accidents involving match spectators slipping on soapy water.
  17. They'll probably end up on their arse, gravity can be a bugger. On the plus side they could get £250 from You've Been Framed if someone catches it on video.
  18. Is annan4eva going to be the Annan supporting troll for this season? Hopefully the more sensible Annan posters, I'm sure there must be 1 or 2, will join us for some good debates.
  19. Any upddates on injuries to Brydon, Wilson and Gibson plus any other doubtfuls? Realise Brydon's could be a longer term but will others make it for this Cup Group games?
  20. OK, was just curious as last season's ticket had the start and end dates for full season not ending half way through.
  21. Decided to buy my season ticket a couple of days ago. I like to print off a pdf copy in case of mobile phone malfunction at the turnstile ( or more likely my bad eyesight and stubby fingers causing cock-up), I notice it says event commences May '23 finishes Dec' 23 which seems a bit odd for a league season that runs from August 23 to May 24. What's that all about. Last season's ticket had the correct start and end dates.
  22. Apart from Saturday not being the best date I don't see how it was so daft, would rather have played Marlow than the likes of Gretna. It isn't as if it was going to cost us a great deal of money with it being at Palmerston. The greatest inconvenience would be on Marlow.
  23. Thanks for that, didn't hear/read MB's Gretna interview, will keep my eyes and ears open for more news. I've not bothered with any of the friendlies/bounce games yet but will probably take this one in (if open to spectators) as its something a bit different. Maybe be a bit more settled line-up than games have been so far.
