  1. Christopher Berra happened. Imagine that as our " defence" coach. Deary me.
  2. Well done Saints on making the top 6. The result today was a bit of a surprise but you have enough about you to pick up acouple of wins in the last 5 games. Enjoy.
  3. Put more succinctly than my original post. Beaton had made a decion on both penalty incidents that he had not seen any infringements which would have led to the award of a penalty. He was happy but a faceless 5th official decided he was wrong. It gets to the stage where its a case of " I'm not sure and if I'm wrong VAR will bail me out" And if it was clear cut it should not take 4 minutes to sort it out.
  4. From my angle behind the goals I thought they were 2 penalties, pulling arm away or not. I certainly would be screaming for them if it was in our favour. What's annoying is that Beaton missed both instances and VAR called him to account. Both St Mirren stands on either side of the pitch shouted for them at the same time so it was obvious to them but not the ref who was considerably closer to both incidents. The games being run/ ruined by VAR not the refs. I cannot shout at VAR as its in some darkened room in the depths of goodness knows where monitored by another incompetent.
  5. Never thought of Curtis Main as anything other than being a man of many clubs and being moderately successful at some, poor at others. He has found his form at St Mirren and works his socks off for the team. Thought he was excellent today. Whereas we have another Curtis who spends most of his time on his arse and struggles to do the basics. Has shown nothing since he came to us and doubt he ever will. To keep Anderson on the bench was a serious mistake , we will regret it.
  6. Read again please. You also said " terrible spectacle", wasn't for us .
  7. Depends if you win or lose 5-0 on it. I remember that night, it was a terrible spectacle for those Hearts fans that stayed to the end. Granted there were not many of them.
  8. "That pitch" argument is wearing decidedly thin now. Djokovic, Nadal, Federer etc all play their particular ball game on clay, grass and hard surfaces. They know what to expect and train, adapt to the conditions and it has not stopped them ( and others) rising to the highest level of their profession winning titles in the process. I suggest the balls, travelling faster on these surfaces and trajectory influenced by the spin imparted by the racquet and skill of the player is more likely to deviate from that A tenuous analogy I know but the pitch has been down for several years now. Time to suck it up boys and get on with it.
  9. Failed to pick up the tenuous link to the Jambos there.
  10. Bigger question is does Goodwin get the team bus back or is he marooned in Leith?
  11. Never mind, when Isma Goncalves comes back to fill that striker space , you will be fine.
  12. Didn't notice him in the photo until you pointed it out. Would have been good to give him a run out in the past week. Hacs he featured since the first game of the season?
  13. 4 points dropped when there have been + 7 mins added on. Concentration levels seem to go wayward.
  14. Or, of course, he may be 3-5 years older tan previously thought.
  15. After 2 games where we have attacked the opposition ( I know we were at home) suspect we will revert to 5 at the back, Shinnie in midfield, and try to shitfest a draw. Oh forgot about VAR, penalty to Rangers.
  16. Reiterating what has been said before. Shinnie, as per most of his appearances for the club, is an empty Jersey and rarely contributes something positive. Exceptionally talented, the " pointy man" as he's is recognised as in our section is terrific at waving his arms about , telling others what to do , while being a lazy git. Martingale has tried with Sean Kelly to convert him into a) a solid defensive midfielder b) a comfortable centre back. Failed on both counts. Fans from other clubs where he had been warned us about him being shit but it seems we were wrong to ignore them, especially with 2 competent centre backs warming their bums on the bench., Finishing , we had 13 efforts at goal before we got 1 on target. Shooting practice this week lads. It's frustrating as there are good players out there and we can deliver some good build up play. Must win next week to get the confidence built up.
  17. Has Hughes not blamed they players a) nae character b) nae heart ) c) nae fight yet?
  18. Hope all the St Johnstone players are OK. I feared for them as they fell over after a hard look from a Livi player and squealed like wee lasses. Developing a real talent there. Hope Arbroath stuff you.
  19. 5 bookings and a sending off would lead some people to suspect that your lads could have been a trifle over enthusiastic on the physical side of the game.
