  1. I was comparing the team of the early nineties rather than the crowds. The only domestic matches this season where the crowds have been in excess of 12,000 are Celtic, Hearts, Rangers and Hamilton at Christmas. We had 2700+ at Dingwall on Saturday and our fans continue to boost the coffers of every other club in Scotland, except our own! The economic situation certainly has a part to play, but there is no question that apathy also has a part to play, and I've no idea why. If Derek McInnes gets offered and takes the job at Rangers, I am sure that one of the things that would sway him would be the disinterest of our fans.
  2. In my opinion, we have the most exciting team since the early nineties. What do they have to do to get a regular decent crowd coming along to Pittodrie? Since the Motherwell game on 23rd December, not only have we been winning, but we have been putting in outstanding performances and dominating games. Obviously not in the Celtic match, although I feel that we did ok in that match, but just ok. But that match aside the team have been scoring goals, keeping clean sheets and generally entertaining all Dons fans that have been at these games. The crowd on Wednesday was 10,384, and well done to the Dons fans in that crowd, but what does it take to get another three or four thousand along. Hearts, who are, generally speaking, a team of cloggers, are getting 14/15,000 of their fans along to every home league match to watch what is dross compared to the football that Aberdeen are playing at the moment. I really despair of our missing supporters. What do you want?
  3. Would you say to him if he was standing in front of you?
  4. Fantastic news! The Derek McInnes haters/doubters need to be reading what the players are saying about him. Basically if we didn't have McInnes we wouldn't have this team.
  5. Warburton stating that he is surprised that no team came in for Barrie MacKay before the window closed. Mark feeling a bit left out after teams desperate to sign Celtic and Aberdeen players?
  6. Willie Miller continuously has a go at Derek McInnes whenever the team doesn't play well, even if they win.
  7. Willie Miller has said that the Caley match on Saturday was a borefest. Is anyone actually disagreeing with that?
  8. If we don't sign anyone else, and have Hayes and McGinn on 1st February, I will be more than delighted.
  9. The Daily Mail have been at the forefront of this story from the outset. I presume that they are on a percentage of the fee.
  10. So did Niall McGinn at the end of the Hearts match in December.
  11. McInnes is confident that Maddison will return, looking to speak to McGinn's agent by end of the month and sounds like he's looking to loan Cammy Smith to a club that will actually play him.
  12. I've seen him a few times in the Under 20's and I'm less than impressed. But I may have been unlucky.
  13. I salute your knowledge of Aberdeen/Hearts results! However, to be a proper Hearts fan you must always use the 5-1 score for massacre/thumping/hammering etc.
  14. I would. Have thought you would have put 5-1. Are you sure that you're a Hearts fan?
  15. No matter what a very small number of fans think, Niall McGinn will be a huge loss if he goes. He has been a magnificent signing and re-signing and, although he undoubtedly doesn't play to his peak as often as we would all like, he is always missed when not in the team. If he played to his full potential in every match, we would have only had him for a couple of seasons. I still harbour a hope that he signs a new contract, but if not he goes with my best wishes and gratitude for some wonderful performances. But please leave Scotland!
  16. The small wing stand at Pittodrie was separate from the Main Stand and regrettably the only stand that I never watched a match from at Pittodrie. The wing stand was not damaged in the 1971 fire, or if it was it was only minor damage. It continued to be used until it was demolished to make way for the Richard Donald Stand 1991/92. If I had the use of a time machine, I would take my place in the wing stand just the once!
  17. He was poor today, given that he was, along with Scott Wright, our most experienced player. He really should have dominated that midfield today but didn't come close.
  18. I think that you read that incorrectly. I assume that actually said that you were hosts of the beastiality awards.
