  1. I'm not sure why but i've just spent about 15 minutes scouring google trying to find evidence of this player around the early 90s (would this be the correct timescale?) and cannot find anyone who fits the description at all in any of their squads for seasons around that time.
  2. Weirdly i came onto this thread to ask the exact same question. The answer below makes pretty pleasant reading (it had better be in tomorrow).
  3. That almost certainly means they are classic fit then which will be too big for me i think. Thanks anyway however.
  4. I 'might' be slightly interested in these. Are they custom fit or classic fit? The best way to find out what they'd sell for is to check similar auctions on Ebay. In all honesty i don't think they'd top £20ish each, Ebay isn't what it once was i find.
  5. I did a bit of Plath poetry at school about 7 years ago or something. From memory the general themes in her poems are death/depression etc. If you google her i am sure you will get LOADS of information as she was really quite famous. You could do far worse than printing a couple of her poems off, reading up on her life a bit online and then sitting taking notes on the poems you have printed. That'd be a very decent start. I'm afraid i have no idea who Alasdair Gray is!
  6. I watched what must have been the second half of that film on Friday night too. I was actually wondering what it was that i'd watched so thanks for filling me in. It seemed okay from what i saw but it definitely wasn't brilliant. It was decent enough to keep me awake until the end however.
  7. I did and i'd pretty much agree with your sentiments. However i was probably more like 40 minutes longer than usual. The closer i got to Edinburgh the easier the driving was and although it was 30/40 a lot of the way it was 'do-able'. However, the driving i had to do to get to the motorway was really quite bad in and around Carron/Carronshore area to the extent that i thought i'd spun my car at a junction which was pretty nerve-wracking.
  8. Travelling from Carron in Falkirk through to Newbridge in Edinburgh today was a barrel of laughs. Driving around the Falkirk area is quite brutal and none of the roads seem to have been ploughed. At 8.30am this morning i was skidding around like nobodies business as the snow continued to fall in the Falkirk area, however it seemed to get better the closer i got to Edinburgh, and by better i mean marginally. Luckily i was in work by the time it started snowing yet again in Edinburgh. I can't see more snow coming though, haven't seen this much in years and surely it has to stop soon! On the bright side everything looks amazing when snow covered, unfortunately i feel i'm probably too old to be charging around horsing snowballs at windows and sledging down vertical slopes into jaggy bushes.
  9. Toasted thick sliced white bread with mayonnaise, ham, lettuce, cucumber, red onion, jalapeno peppers and cajun seasoning partnered by the old faithful - a pint of milk. John deadly!
  10. I had Hull V Wigan Over2.5/Bolton V Spurs Over 2.5/Burnley V Birmingham Under 2.5 Sebastian Larsson's pointless 94th minute goal done me like a kipper!
  11. £60 on Steaua Bucharest, Fulham and Dinamo Zagreb returned £150.
  12. Sliced Banana on toast before bed. Absolutely lovely and healthy into the bargain. Also had a bunch of grapes, continuing the health theme. It should probably be mentioned however that dinner was a chicken curry. It was home made and rather tasty, although as ever not spicy enough for my tastes as my mum makes them quite mild.
  13. If it was anything like my usual crack, then shite.
  14. Backed Torres/Podolski/Anelka to score first tonight in a treble. £2.50 returned £450 if correct. 2/3 not bad but Anelka didn't come near scoring first from what i gather. That's what happens when you bet multiples though.
  15. Seriously, what on earth are you on about? If it is in reference to rigging deals or something then that'd obviously only work when you are dealer which is only once an orbit and never online/in a proper tournament. I'm bewildered as to how there can be any other way...
  16. Never mind. I mistook you for someone who sits five feet from me at work. My mistake... It's an 'in joke' so you won't get it if i've got you mixed up with someone else.
  17. The Salmonella Shop can't afford better raffle prizes than Corona sadly...
  18. A bottle of Scotch Whiskey in the other Christmas raffle at work.
  19. £20 double on Genoa/Juventus returned £146. I initially miscalculated the returns and got £25 more than i thought i would back. Nice work when you can get it...
  20. £10 trebles and a fourfold on Aberdeen, Aston Villa, Blackburn and Wolves returned £508 from a £50 stake. Also had £6 trebles and a fourfold on Sunderland, Hamilton, Stenhousemuir and Burnley. All but Stenhousemuir won which was a nice £155 return. Had Stenhousemuir won it was something silly like another £600 profit.
  21. Thanks mate. Scorecasts are not something i generally do as they obviously play into a bookmakers hands but i was watching the match at a mates (i rarely see games due to not having Sky Sports) and placed the scorecasts for interest as i thought Owen would score and Newcastle would win. The bet i was more concerned about was my £30 on Newcastle at 11/4 which i frankly thought was huge. Utterly lovely lift coming up to Christmas though and my biggest single football win.
  22. I made £70 on Saturday when my £5 trebles and fourfold returned 3 correct results from a total stake of £25. I then went utterly goal crazy on Sunday and landed a £3.50 scorecast on Owen/3-0 Newcastle for over £600 and. Also had 1-0 and 2-0 scorecasts on so was happy for much of the game. My proper bet of £30 on Newcastle at 11/4 of course also came in. Was nearly £800 up on the weekend at one stage but did lose £100ish on Chelsea. Have banked £700 though so all is well.
