Darvel legend on a serious note are u happy now or are u annoyed cause u weren't happy at the beginning of this project then u were when things were good but now ur anti money man again so come on what is it are u happy it's gone downhill or sad and what did mick oh look at me Kennedy know and how much money did he put in and now he wants his money back or is that wrong

Im far from happy I’ve been a player and fan all my life , I’m nearly 60 and last thing I want to see is this , but when the budget gets bigger after mick leaving questions need to be answered , it’s guys with no junior experience making junior decisions which have led to this but trust me darvel won’t be dropping down the divisions

I wouldn't pay particular attention to anything he says or has said   , he's a mouth piece and a total shambles and pretty much personifies everything about darvel FC since they've emerged from pretty much nowhere .

I haven’t stopped laughing since u said Martin Mcgarvey and Paul frize were better players than ian macshane

Writing was on the wall bringing in a fannyspangle as manager.

I get some of you guys don’t like him but you have to show a wee bit of sympathy here to a man who took the job promised the earth in all probability and then a few months later he’s been told to get rid of players to reduce the wage bill , he must be wondering what’s he’s landed himself into

Quite incredible that the Aberdeen result was still in this same calendar year.  There was a brilliant opportunity to embrace the excitement in the local community and grow the club even further.  Instead there has been one shit decision after another!

Mate with the cup run last year darvel with a wee bit savvie should have been set up for the next 3-5 years and been comfortable but 3 months into the next season we are having a fire sale , if what im hearing they got for fergie and  what they bought Moore for i know nothing about the game 🤦🏻‍♂️

Huge investment over the years. I’m guessing that with all the players and coaching staff brought on board for this season there won’t be much change left out of 500/600k if the rumours that some players are on 5k a week.

Ha ha ha ha I’ve no idea what highest paid player is at ek but I can assure u it won’t be 5k per week

So you're saying some of the mess is Mick's fault due to his signings?

Not at all , mick would have came and asked for a player and I would have said yes or no , that’s what managers do and it’s up to the people who make these decisions to do exactly the same thing

Agree with your second sentence. However, if you were projecting based on gate receipts, those never materialised either.

What I'm getting at is that the whole thing was built on mibbes and vanity (which looks like proving to be its downfall). Undeniable that the club is in a better state than it was before you all started this project but the doom merchants look to have been proven correct.

Aye cause the people who were football orientated and knew the game left , when we left mick was in as strong position as gall didn’t want to say no to him but mick knows I wouldn’t have allowed some of the signings and then this year it’s just went totally out of control with stupid transfer fees , silly signing on fees and daft wages ,it was madness and doomed to failure

They must have raked in £50/60k this season from transfer fees from EK alone.

Aye and shelled out stupid transfer fees for guys who are nowhere near as good as the players who had left , add in stupid signing on fees and it’s no long in going

Looks like Darvel realising they need to live within their means, players leaving at a strange time in the season, strong rumours of dressing room unease between players and mcinally(who would have guessed it). Social media now almost none existent compare to last season. Fan base dwindling at an alarming rate.  With aging players brought in on big money with 2 year deals, this is worrying times. Darvel's attraction was money for players, also in Michael Kennedy there was a charismatic manager, although perhaps a bit to egotistical at times he was very engaging with fans and had a good pull of players wanting to play for him. To go from MK to Tony McInally who has only caused trouble and cost teams a lot of money is always destined for disaster. For the sake of the club the board need to get a grip of spending/budgets, build bridges with local people that helped run the club for years and have the clubs interest at heart. With John Gall having security over the pitch I worry for the long term plan for the club.

Brilliant post but where do u get the info that John has security over the pitch ?
