I take it Ricky is back from suspension for this?Fitting that most likely his last game for us at Gayfield will be against QP, and also incredible to think what’s happened to both clubs during his time at Gayfield!
Not one for dead rubbers but will head down to this I think.

Basically all of the players who were involved in their great season a few years back have been pinched by other teams.

Not sure what TOBs fitness situation is but I’d be resting him for the remaining games regardless. Seems like he’s not been fit since the end of 21/22.

Went to watch North End Vs Lochee tonight, North End were as brilliant as Lochee were poor. Familiar story from when I’ve seen the Chee previously, no real game plan or cohesion. Long ball to Linn and Hay was bread and butter for North End centre halves. Goal of the match Frankie Devine’s incredible strike for the second.

He's an absolutely fantastic team player. Will work himself into the ground, do the ugly side of the game. Run channels, hold play up. All that good stuff. It still pisses me off that we had fans berate him every week for us because he runs in a weird, ungainly way. Sure, he's not the most aesthetically pleasing forward in the world, but I'd kill to have him back at The Rock.
Genuinely lovely guy too with a really nice nature about him. As said above, he'll be one happily dishing out high-fives and selfies with the kids.
Since you’ve mentioned him - Dwight Gayle’s wife is from Forfar. Fun fact.

Not a huge fan of Dow but he’s probably a good figure to have around the dressing room. Not a winger in a million years though, and is infuriating to watch playing there. Perhaps will see more of him in his preferred 10/attacking midfield since it seems McKenna is offski

Had typed a longer post out but forgot to post and it disappeared - to summarise, would be gutted to lose Mikey as I believe he’s someone with the best interests of the club at heart. He is EXACTLY the type of player/character who has brought us our recent success, and it would be fairly damning if he was to move on at this stage of his career (Even if this is largely due to not getting on with McIntyre, I have no doubt there are some other factors). Really wanting the season to end now so we can clarify players futures and start moving forward.

Great to see Scott Stewart sign on. I wanted McIntyre gone but it’s clear that isn’t happening, he has my backing to get his own squad in now and make a good fist of League One.

Few people have mentioned that Dick should’ve stepped away after the 21/22 season, and whilst with the huge benefit of hindsight that probably would’ve been right, any manager in the world would’ve wanted another crack at it after the success of that season.

Delaney - Has been fairly anonymous in the few games he has played, attacking and defensively.

I wouldn't.Campbell's time was up and he (as well as the board) did us dirty but no one can convince me we wouldn't have had a better chance of staying up if he was still here.
Good part-time managers don't tend to stay part-time managers too long which results in a dearth of 'proven' candidates and it is a completely different task to full-time football so doesn't always translate. Airdrie are a good example, actually. Their squad is fairly modest for this level yet they are extremely well drilled and try to play with a clear style. As much as you can try, you can't implement that in 4 hours of training per week. At part-time level it is really about recruitment, personality and man-management. As stated above, McIntyre's recruitment has been poor. You can see from his interviews that his personality is hardly inspiring. As for man-management, we've had the Bird/Hylton and now the McKenna/McIntosh incidents along with the shabby treatment of Ali Adams.
When I think of the money wasted on full-time players over the last 2.5 years, with absolutely no on-field benefit, I wonder if we wouldn't have been better off trying to get some kind of youth system up and running again. Gold might not be the answer for first team manager but he'd have loads to offer if we did something like that.
I’ve been a pretty vocal opponent of a youth setup in the past, but Montrose seem to bring through players who can contribute so why can’t we. Could even have a few young lads from further afield in scotland, and house them up here instead of hopeless punts from down south.

Really feels like we have gone from watching a team of players who would go to war for each other, to a team of absolute individuals in a pretty short period of time. Just irks me that so many of the squad involved in relegating us will leave and probably never ever give the club a second thought, relegation is probably a minor inconvenience at worst to them.

I’ve seen quite enough of McIntyre, dealt a shit hand but bar the first couple games he’s shown nothing and we have continued to be an utter shambles. Cheerio.

I'm sure he doesn't mean literally the worst league season (i.e. league placing), and instead just means that bar that 4/5 game run it's just been totally miserable and we've looked so far off it. Have experienced shit seasons before but probably not with as many pumpings as we've received this year, can definitely sympathise with what he means.

You could, but there are also lights on both roads once you get back into town from arbirlot. Probably just as well waiting it out on the main road.

Plus its not just a case of letting a second keeper go, he became an international sensation and one of our few bright moments of a miserable season. To milk all that attention as a club, and then just decide "nah" seems a bit off.
Even then, if we were having an okay season, it wouldnt be that big a deal, but given that he was basically the only proper good news story in 18 months, its a shame how its gone. If only he'd been renting a flat and funding the meadowbank flats!
No, he didn't, but there is evidently a reason he's been a junior keeper all his career?Better to be proactive, than reactive. The international sensation stuff is pointless too, was embarrassing he was having to play up front in the first place.
