What’s going on with Hylton? I know he’s a free agent so the window doesn’t matter, but I thought he’d be signed up by now. If he wants to come back until the summer I imagine he’d be welcome.

I'd heard he was back down south looking for a club there.

    Results last night:
Lochee United 5-0 Forfar West End
    Blairgowrie 1-5 Broughty Athetic

    No issues for either side.

Connor Coupe another good signing for Lochee. So much strength in depth on those teams.

Think the only penalty I was not sure about was the 2nd one.

The other 2 i would agree with the awards.

As far as the licence issue I am not sure what ia happening with that although I hope it is something that is being looked at  however I am not sure what all the requirements for that are.

Spoke to couple people who saw the second pen from different angles and all seemed to agree it was harsh, although the boy sent off for it could've been off for the tackle he got booked for in middle of park. Was very impressed by Broughty centre half Mudie.

Can’t believe we started the game with 4 defenders on the park for the first time this season (if you don’t count Stewart as a defender) and it lasted 5 minutes. Then we lost another 2. Down to 1 defender again. And he has a broken toe.

Walker was apparently on crutches and could be out for the season. Steele needs an op so he is apparently out for the season. Hopefully Delaney not too bad.

I just counted. Including Hylton who we don’t know if he is away or injured at the moment, we have 12 players injured in a squad of 25. 🤣
From what I have heard from players on co-commentary over the past few weeks I think 5 are still medium to long term and the rest are either unknown or short term.

    Gaston - couple of weeks
    Steele - probably season
    Little - long term
    O’Brien - ?
    Delaney. - ?
    Walker - probably long term/season
    Slater - back soon
McKenna - mid to late February
Dow - running but still struggling
Norey - pulled up in training ?
Murray - pulled up in training ?
    Hylton - ?

Also Scott Allan out on loan

Scott Allan not played since end of September either 🤣

  5. Keen to see Delaney. Whilst I am a huge fan of Hammy and respect he's been a mainstay in all our success, he's very much an old fashioned full back. Hopefully Delaney can offer a bit more from an attacking perspective, but I can't say I really remember him (good or bad) playing against us.

  6. It's hard but until we are able to get reinforcements in our hands are tied. Boys playing out of position all over the shop, low on confidence, knowing that if they go over their ankle at the wrong time the sub goalie might have to come on outfield. Hopefully we can get at least 2 in this week and kick on from there. I didn't go today, how was the new lad Walker at right back?

Give the boy a break.  He hasn't played since November.

Tbf I retyped that post a couple times and left out a bit saying hopefully he's just the type who needs game time to get fit. He's someone I've had my eye on for a few seasons and I'm excited to see him for us.

Once more, these are not the games, that really matter, it’s getting wins against ICT, QP, Morton, Dunfermline, Ayr and Airdrie and possibly nicking the odd point against the other three, that’s where survival will come from

Ever year we have been in this league teams at the bottom have taken points off the top teams so these games shouldn't just be written off.

  9. Frustrating that we have been putting in decent performances but been completely hampered by having so many players out/playing out of position. Have to admit was slightly concerned with Innes Murray, he looked pretty unfit. Can't afford to be carrying players like that in the championship. Hopefully we can get some new players in asap and convert these good performances into points on the board.

We played well. Didn’t deserve that but we have to defend better. We were the better team. Slater was poor, as was Hylton. Jacobs was very good. I don’t understand why he was taken off. TOB and Steele very good as was Stewart. Hammy quite off the pace but we have no options. Bird was good and McIntosh worked his heart out. Goldie’s job seemed to be pressing high but didn’t do much. Almost promising.  At least we seemed organised.

Can't really afford Jacobs on a booking as he's terrible for late tackles and the squad can't cope with a suspension. I think Slater is an okay player but his set pieces are an absolute abomination, tonight and Saturday we wasted every single set piece with his pish floaty deliveries.

Aye. Rotten against United in the season opener and absolutely anonymous in his last game (I think) against QOS in the challenge cup.

Also the game against ICT he came on and shelled the ball out of play a good few times. Just don't think he ever properly won the managements trust, but also think we barely saw him in his best position (number 10 imo). I heard him and dick had an argument after the QOS game, but imagine McIntyre will give him a chance at least.

I am sorry to see Barry Sellars leave to club plus agree with the above that THIS season the "recruitment team" have done okay after only having one transfer window to work on as Steele and Slater are good players imo and Bird, Hylton, Turan etc are a lot better than the signings last season during the windows.

I am pretty sure they had some defence cover on trial as well but remember it is not them that pick the players to sign that would be DC and the coaching team but Dick would have the final say.

Not sure what will happen now with Barry away as as far as i can make out that will leave no local AFC staff to train the likes of Bird etc during the week unless the likes of Kev Middleton is still doing this?

    Kev still does this.

Due to bigger match day squads, the loan market hopeless for us, in the championship, very few good experienced pros available, alright loaning laddies to leagues 1&2 no use for the championship

Not sure what you mean by this?Loan market has never been for experienced pros. Since we have come into the championship Miko Virtanen, Craig Wighton, Ben Williamson, Chris Hamilton & Jack Hamilton have all been young lads who've come in and done well. Dick & co seemed to abandon the loan market in the last couple seasons, but I wonder how much of that was to do with Prem clubs not wanting to loan us players due to the way we played, and how Dick used them (Was not a fan of him but Hancock playing left wing for example). I hope that with a fresh start at the club under McIntyre we once again will be able to use the loan market well.

Taking Arbroath from League 2 to the Championship and keeping them there is quite literally a brilliant end to Dicks career if he calls it quits now. What an odd thing to say.

Don't want to take over the EF thread but the last 2 seasons have been absolutely grim and I imagine it has taken a lot of out Dick. So it would be nice if he could finish on a high somewhere. Not hard
