  1. Killie aren't nearly as big as us, they couldn't afford him.
  2. Well, apart from the French polis murdering kids and the riots.
  3. Don't we know it, the number of aliases you've had over the years.
  4. Have to disagree. Whats the alternative, a bunch of pre season friendlies that mean nothing? Even with our current incomplete squad, we should still be good enough to qualify comfortably.
  5. It seems to have been a very slow window for a lot of clubs. If you look at the squads of most of our rivals, there are gaping holes which still need to be filled. I still reckon we need a goalie if Carson goes, a left wing back, right sided centre half and a couple of forwards. Other teams need a lot more, so i'm not panicking yet.
  6. Isma has always had his lfestyle issues. Despite his major role in helping us win the League Cup, more often than not he didnt turn up for us. I remember one game at Tynecastle towards the end of that season where he looked completely disinterested. There is a story from that time about how we had to send club reps to fish him out of nightclubs before games.
  7. I think McMenamin has said he wants to play at a higher standard of football, so if thats the case you'd hope it would be no contest between us and Larne.
  8. We need to sign this guy. McMenamin I mean, not Sule.
  9. That's a very generous take on it. If we look at the careers of some of those players, the only one who has made any sort of name for himself is Alfie Jones, who is currently at Hull, but when he came to us he was just a kid who looked entirely out of his depth. King and Kpekewa are playing in the national league just now (a bit surprised by that, thought that would be above their level) while the infamous Heatons last club in the UK was in the 10th tier in England, and he hasn't been heard of since 2020. He'll probably be out on the pull tonight, claiming to be a footballer. Total fanny. Nah, bottom line is Stubbs signings were just shite.
  10. Won't be killie as thats the pretend derby which usually happens later in the season. Probably be away to one of the old firm.
  11. That would be good, hopefully we get a bit more for him.
  12. I think we need 2 keepers we can rely on this season - we were always vulnerable last season in that area if Carson got injured, which fortunately he didn't.
  13. I think Nouble would be a gamble for sides at that price - he reminds me a bit of Curtis Main, generally underwhelming career but then joins a club and manager where there is a good fit and does well. Might not be the same elsewhere.
  14. 600k for a 27 year old with 1 year left on his contract who has spent most of his career bouncing around non-league clubs in England is a pretty wild valuation, as is 500k for Anderson - i actually think he's a decent player and wouldn't mind us signing him, but he's probably worth about 100 to 150k at most.
  15. Thank feck for that, there was an ominous rumour St Mirren were in for him.
  16. The worry though is, as random guy says, we add squad players then lose our star players late in the window with no time to bring in competent replacements. I am getting slightly nervous about the lack of signings, coupled with sinister rumours about Donnelly etc which makes me think we are perhaps having to lower our ambitions.
  17. I wonder if the delay in signings is because we are waiting on movement out and need that to happen first so we can increase offers to others.
  18. Before, any opposition fans beat me to it, Rob Street sounds like a Paisley past time.
  19. Agreed, and he's also very injury prone. If we do sign him this thread will also be infested with killie fans claiming we are signing their cast offs and natural order is about to be resumed.
  20. Killie fans on here are notoriously touchy. After I pointed out at the start of last season that their squad was shite and they'd be in for a relegation battle, they spent all season calling me weird and saying Killie lived rent free in my head, and bizarrely, every time they won a game, posted comments like "pray for hendo", which kind of proved that, ironically, it was me living rent free in their head. Their behaviour could be perhaps more understandable if I'd said anything controversial, but I didn't; their squad was shite and a relegation battle did follow. Just be careful ric, you might become their new obsession.
  21. I wonder if this is an indication we'll be changing formation next season given he's a winger.
  22. I was on a YTS in 1987 and Paul Chalmers mum organised my placement for me, she was a lovely woman and we spent more time talking about Paul and St Mirren than we did the placement.
