Syversten gets better with every game he plays. Big season for him and i reckon he’ll be one of the first names on the team sheet.

He looked a bit shaky on Saturday at Linlithgow but last night he was a lot better on the ball and also brought the ball up the pitch a few times. He ended up scoring a goal by starting the move from defence and ending it with a nice volley just a shame Wallace was offside so it didn’t count. Not much to say about his defending ability yet as it’s only pre-season but he looks an exciting prospect.

Craig Howie has now signed, two year deal.

Can’t read too much into friendlies but thought Smith and Syversten looked good. Grant as always never lost the ball and looked a class above in the first half. Howie looked a lot more calm tonight and even though we conceded 3 goals I thought he looked good. The other 2 trialists (Robertson and East Stirling one) came of the bench and didn’t do anything to impress and I wouldn’t particularly want them back but we’ll see.

Week 1-Hibs

Craig Howie from EK is number 4. I think the trialists on the bench are all youngsters, 2 of them from the 2003 squad.

He’s back in Scotland now so I imagine we’ll have his decision in the next few days. Would be sad for him to leave but as many have already said, I have full confidence in the management team to bring in the right replacements either permanent or loans.

Fitzpatrick and Cuddihy listed as midfielders on the website, I imagine both will mostly used as defenders? McStay’s profile also gone.

Hopefully staying but I doubt it, he’ll have several full time offers like Lang did most likely.

Most seem to have Clyde in the top 4 and if not just outside the playoffs. Goodwillie and Lennon probably play big parts in that thinking.

Compared to Smith and Hooper from Annan (who are supposedly off to Peterhead), I definitely think we managed to get the better two.

Where will be best to park for the game tonight? Will the forge be available?

Rankin is one of the fittest players in Scottish football. I was at an SFA scouting course which was ran by Donald Park and he mentioned Rankin was the best professional there is. Has a takeaway only once a year, and that’s on the final day of the season. Apart from that day he’s in the gym pretty much all the time and looking after himself the best he can. Usually when that age get the type of injury he did is question them returning but I have no doubt he’ll be back fully fit and ready to go for the start of the season.

I wasn’t at either loss to Peterhead, I’m only judging on the performances I’ve seen. Some might have different opinions but either way we should be confident and hopefully we will get the job done.

Annan are a good team and for me the team that’s gave us both the best games and toughest challenges this season but we have to go into the game confident considering; Last 10 games against Annan, Clyde have won 6 and drawn 4. Annan haven’t lost at home since December and have only dropped points twice since then at home and one of them was a draw with Clyde. Annan are 8 games unbeaten, winning 7 of them, their last loss was against Clyde. Clyde have beaten Annan 3 times this season with the other result being a draw in which Goodwillie wasn’t playing.
