  1. Did she have a really good jobby or something. Cannae beat a guid shite on Christmas day.
  2. Maybe in the 6 years between the last referendum and COVID actually having a coherent strategy in place to gain independence.
  3. It's the one economic fact in the independence debate that cannot be disputed. The UK has totally squandered Scotland's oil wealth. We have extracted more than Norway. So where did all that revenue go? We should be sitting alongside them as the richest country in Europe.
  4. This snifter character has just outed as another angry puddin to point and laugh at tbh. The cheek calling anyone else a "flag shagger" As any sensible commentator would acknowledge, Scotland doesn't have a national deficit as such. It has a "notional" deficit. This is unfortunately not a comprehensible distinction for the average britnat double figure IQ. The UK apportions a share of its debt to Scotland. This is then added to GERs figures that have never been designed to represent the economy of an independent Scotland. There is simply currently no way to determine an iScotland's fiscal state.
  5. Hope he stays at Villa. He is their main man.
  6. The phrase "couldnae hit a coos arse wi a banjo" does come too mind. He has been put through a few times in this campaign alone and has ballooned it. Definitely an area of his game he could strengthen.
  7. Your opinion is ridiculous. McTominay is a quality young midfielder, who would likely comfortably make the squad of every European international team. The fact he doesn't start in our midfield is testament to strength we have in that area. (He would probably be guaranteed more starts in midfield for England tbh)
  8. Very debatable claim that. I know a democratic way to find out though. Unfortunately the current UK government and their sycophants ain't very keen on the Scottish people determining their democratic will.
  9. Definition of "shallow minded idiot" = Person who forms their opinion on a nations constitutional future based on "emotion, culture and history"........... and the football team they support.
  10. The SNP leadership have acted far too slowly on this in my opinion. The currency issue was the big vote loser during indyref1. A properly planned out policy detailing transition to a new currency should have been sorted years ago. Work should have been starting on 19.09.2014. Not 7 year doon the line. Its a policy that needs time to become embedded in the minds of the marginal electorate.....far far in advance of indyref2!!! There needs to be time for the policy to be thoroughly critiqued, the arguments to be made and won. That is the stage we should be at.
  11. No. The current leadership of the SNP have been successfully castrated. That's down to poor leadership, idiotic strategy and governing party fatigue tbh. So I will give you that. There will be no independence under the current snp heidyins. However 50% of the population continue to demand independence. Despite all the nonsense floating around Indy politics in the last few years. You have to conclude that support is solid.....and it's only going to grow. So there is no comparison with Quebec. In the medium/ long term it can't be stopped. It's a couple of political cycles away at most. 5 to 25 years.
  12. In the eighties we had two of the best managers the game has ever seen. Stein in 82 and Ferguson in 86. We also had a multitude of world class players in both those eighties WC squads....and throughout our sixties and seventies teams. We very much underachieved in those decades. Disgracefully so.
  13. We could have won. We definitely have the game to beat South Africa. However it will require a far better team performance than what we saw yesterday. South Africa won by doing the basics well and ensuring the game was played to their strengths. They dominate the set piece, have a fast aggressive defence and a brilliant kick and chase game to pound the opposition back three and force knock-ons or turnovers. To beat South Africa requires possession. Too many of our players were off the pace. We were always on a hiding in the scrum, but a disorganised lineout, too many handling errors and penalties cost us. Cost us possession. Even though we had a lead at half time, it was very much against the run and we honestly never really had a spell in the game when we were dominant. This ruined any kind of platform to play our own fast expansive game. The only positive is that it shows the levels of consistent accuracy and discipline that will be required if we are to challenge the best. A valuable lesson for our very talented squad.
  14. Just came across this on YouTube. Check the wee nyaff sitting next to the king

  17. No one is forced to pay for the Guardian or National.
  18. This whole cringeworthy exchange is interesting in that it would appear that the NZ side emphasis is clearly on the exchange of people perspective. New Zealand would clearly like our young and brightest. From an ageing UK dynamic, we need to push for the reverse to be the case.
  19. Why would American and Russian billionaires want to collaborate to hinder a steady income stream for them both?
  20. Starting to look like he has the key ingredient that most of our last umpteen managers have lacked. And long may it continue
