  1. A Yes vote would have taken us out of the Eu anyway.
  2. She didn’t believe the plan but still voted Yes hoping it would all come good. No doubt would have been heavily involved campaigning and encouraging others to do likewise
  3. http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/16142178.Mhairi_Black__I_hated_SNP_s_White_Paper_and_told_people_to_ignore_it/ Happy to ride on the Westminster gravy train and gamble on Scotland’s future knowing the plan was a crock of shit. As a politician she will go far
  4. The post I commented on was linking Brexit to the Scottish independence referendum. Similar to the old age point it would appear that on both occasions the educated voted to keep things as they were and the uneducated voted to go their own way
  5. Perhaps this also explains why the SNP are lowering educational standards
  6. It’s called democracy my man and the 52-48 outcome suggests quite a mix of different people voted for it and not just diehard unionists. Considering a lot of the hardcore SNP voters want nothing to do with europe do they now count as unionists? Happy or not please explain how I could have helped Scotland avoid this outcome? Had I voted yes in 2014 Scotland would have been pulled out of the Eu anyway. If It wasn’t for Sturgeon using this as a lever to demand another vote the Eu would be low down the list of Scottish priorities.
  7. Typical of the hive mentality. If your not with us you must be a britnat. I certainly didn’t vote for brext and think it was a poor choice. Can’t say I’m happy at Scotland losing money through this. Still it could be worse as if with a yes vote we could be losing twice over through being out and Uk and Eu at same time.
  8. So the success of either is based on an emotional hunch from yourself.
  9. A bit like Sturgeon here sniping at another view without having proper solutions themselves. No doubt the Uk will lose business with Brexit just like the same would have happened in the event of Indy ref. Perhaps you could explain where the instant growth would have came from to balance the losses and make scottish independence profitable from the outset?
  10. With any separation there will be one off costs to pay, loss of business plus a period of uncertainty and time needed to build for the future. Specifically to 2014 movement in the oil price would have put a rather large hole in Salmonds plans.
  11. You were willing to accept being worse off if Yes had won in 2014 so a short memory calling it out now
  12. The halo effect from Sturgeon and Black becoming the Uks two most influential biddies makes independence a certainty next time
  13. Spoilsport. Can you not just let people dream instead of bringing reality to the echochamber.
  14. Let’s hope the SFA don’t put profit first here and forget about the importance of Queen’s Park to scottish football. Their setup means they always have high numbers of youngsters playing with many ending up playing at a high level. One of the few teams who will give kids a chance to progress. Whatever happens a fair deal should be reached that allows QP to continue as before.
  15. Significantly enhanced? The general public has witnessed the lies coming from both sides from day one and had some insight into the complexity involved in divorcing from a Union for little benefit. Got to wonder what appetite will now remain for any more happening in the foreseeable future.
  16. Should minimum pricing happen along with proposed income tax rises the SNP will be in danger of alienating two key sections of their support. Struggling to see how the voters will continue to back them.
  17. Fortunately the Scottish people were more canny and didn't put themselves in a similar position. Lesson learned for next time also.
  18. I wonder if Sturgeon had initially took heed of the listening exercise conducted then today's back-pedalling could have been avoided. Independence is now sunk for a long while and main priority for Sturgeon is managing break up of the hive back towards Labour.
  19. Nor was it on the brexit ballot paper but that didn't stop Sturgeon guessing that I and many others still wanted to remain in the eu if Scotland were an independent nation.
  20. That wasn't the sole reason. Five people I know voted Tory who normally despise them because they wanted anybody bar the SNP over their handling of education. Pre election the only serious challengers seemed to be the tories but if more people were aware Labour would take seats then a lot more votes would have went that way.
  21. Although that seems the sensible option would she not lose a decent chunk of her supporters through this? The SNP have attracted most of the rabble who make the most noise and want everything done tomorrow. With Labour getting its act together they could steal a lot of that vote.
  22. Misinformation. Are you referring to the brexit process now being respected? Wasn't so long ago indy ref was being pencilled in for 2018.
  23. With Sturgeon now backtracking slightly on Europe it might yet end up being swept under the carpet.
  24. I wonder how many of the 62% actually voted no in both referendums and wish to see democracy respected instead of Sturgeon using it as an means to create more division.
