If he could avoid silly yellow cards and needless injuries there could be a place for McLean in that lineup.

He looked good when he came on at Airdrie

McLean should barely even make our bench now. He’s looked *passable* in around 60 minutes of football for us, first half v ayr in his debut and 30 mins v airdrie.

I respect the post but to say at this stage reinstating the academy would be easy is just not possible. I don’t think we’ll see our academy for a long time, and it’s an absolute disgrace.

It’s a long process to get it back to what it was - trust, infrastructure, personnel etc. But the simple fact is it has to happen, so the longer we delay it, the longer we have to wait. Those in charge still believe we don’t need one

  3. Something finally clicked in my head today as to why the ownership issue is so infuriating outwith the fact that those in charge are so obviously out their depth, icnompotent etc etc etc

Its that the major steps to bring back my love for my club is so easy. So so easy. Reinstate the academy. Have a chairman and board with a clear plan that we are a club that is a great place to play football and start your career. Have clear communication and respect between fans and board, with openness about detailed financials. I think there’s a possibility M and M are a very decent coaching duo, so that could already be that bit sorted.

f**k me, even if the current chairman apologised for what has been years of crazy decision making and disrespect to the fans, he can even stay, if he implemented those changes, I don’t really care who is in charge. Just get us back to being Falkirk FC ffs

Cammy Bell was on Off The Ball on Saturday and, when asked why he wasn't involved up at Peterhead, he said that he had recently had an injection in his knee which meant that travelling long distances was out of the question and that "the rest of the team went up yesterday".

One of your backers feeling generous and ponying up the dough for an overnight?

    Ahhh, this’ll be fun

Just watching it back now. It's clearly a foul and a penalty to start with. The referee then has to judge two things when deciding if it's a clear and obvious goalscoring opportunity: a) is the defender attempting to play the ball and b) if the foul isn't committed then does the attacker have a clear goalscoring opportunity.

The answer to a) is obviously no - it's a blatant push in the back. The answer to b) is, in my opinion, yes - the ball is maybe a foot or so above the forward, but if he hasn't been impeded then I'd say he has a decent chance of being able to get on the end of it, and since he's 6 yards out right in front of goal he's obviously got a great chance to score if he does get there.

In terms of your second point - if the ref genuinely thought that Connolly couldn't get on the end of the ball, then it can't be a red card regardless of whether the foul is deliberate. However, I reckon there was a chance if he had the opportunity to leap unimpeded by the defender.

Fair enough, looks good to me. Non HD camera work definitely doesn’t help the ability to tell whether the ball was reachable or not.

Can you ref our next game?

It's always hypothetical when the player gets fouled before he can make contact with the ball no? I'm not even sure if the referee NEEDS to believe Connolly can get his head to the ball, but regardless of that, how much clearer a goalscoring opportunity do you want than a header about 3 yards from the goal with no defender in a position to make an aerial challenge against you? It's a stonewaller and an act of stupidity from the defender.

Yeah that's his thing. Taking just a wee bit off the gas.

That’s true, it always is hypothetical. So the ref has to make a judgement call on whether it was a clear and obvious goal scoring opportunity? For me a ball going 5 feet over a midget’s head should be deemed not a clear goal scoring opportunity

After the mountains of utter shite posted by various fans of both Falkirk and Morton, it’s nice to see that the biggest heads gone over Ray McKinnon ended up coming from Raymond himself.

Outstanding stuff to say the budget hamstrung him at Dundee United then neglect to mention leaving you fourth in League One. c**t genuinely thinks he’s one of the best managers in the country

Haha, think of all the heads gones and fume he caused when he joined us. And barely a year later the very thing that unites us again is the spineless snake twat himself

  8. People saying things like “Christ can’t believe we are crying about losing payers like McManus and longridge, shows how far we have fallen” are so boring and pointless.

We are where we are and deserve to be. The simple fact is we must get out of the current situation. Losing longridge and McManus would be a total disaster for our league campaign. Fact. Don’t care where we were, what players we used to have, blah blah. Get them signed up or it’s playoffs at best

  9. I’m glad that dumbarton 12 year old crew was there, was an absolute morgue apart from that (no blame on us fans, hard to get excited about that muck). Stewards should just leave these alone, absolutely no harm or damage would come if they just let them be. Think of what the ugly sisters get up to every week without any reprimand

Paul Dixon did not put a foot wrong today. Cross for the second goal was brilliant. My MOM by a mile

Don’t want to be hyperbolic, but that may be the best individual performance I’ve seen this season. Not a foot wrong defensively and clever going forward. The rest were average, apart from McManus, who could be the difference in us winning the league or not

    Yep.

However,  as we go through life we can change our house, we can change our job, our car, our girlfriend / boyfriend, our wife / husband but one thing we never change is the team that we are born to support. Now that vow really is "for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part".

    Onwards and upwards.

    COYB.

And to never ever ever give up

Heard a few rumours about goodwillie signing, johnstone leaving and bell joining rangers as a scout.  No idea how true any of these are.

If M and M think, like McKinnon did, that our strikers are the problem, we may as well pack the whole thing in and accept 4th. Almost every away game they feed off scraps, with zero service and huge gaps to midfield. They are not the fucking problem. Why haven’t we signed DKD? He’s been sitting on his arse for 4 months. I don’t care what his attitude is, he’d have probably won us 6-9 points, exactly the sort of player we need. Feels like any fan who’s watched us this season could do a better job than any management team has done this season

I’m really looking forward to seeing the highlights. I have no idea how Toshney hasn’t been sent off in the first half - there must be something we’re missing.

I’ve watched the Falkirk TV interviews and it’s very amusing to listen to the Falkirk players try imply they’re some sort of silky football team. Their back four hoofed the ball at every opportunity today. They completely and utterly deserve to be where they are.

The acceptance from them that our performance today was at all close to acceptable is so worrying. Thought the new management team would get that out of them but nah it’s the same old same old really. We barely played any football today and yet the interviews suggest we were just unlucky (which must come from the management team). Shite.
