Like most of the rest Telfer's been generally disappointing, however, I think we've played our best stuff when he's been on song so I'd go with:

    Mutch

    Doyle, Toshney, Buchanan.

    Miller, Longridge, Gomis, Telfer, Dixon.

    Sammon. McManus.

Durnan, McShane, Tidser, McLean, Connolly, McMillan, Bell.

No idea if Miller can play wing back but this is surely the game to try it?

Not sure there’s a single aspect of miller’s game we need in our 11 Tbh. Can’t shoot, isn’t fast, isn’t creative. Ok maybe he’s a decent presence in midfield but surely tidser is that plus more? Don’t know how he’s suddenly found himself in contention for the starting 11, he’s done literally nothing in any game so far (apart from lose fatty coyne at a corner v lithgae). Bin.

Walk in the park tonight. Got to laugh at these junior fannies claiming Talbot could play at a higher level, they are fucking mince.

Fair play to the sheer amount of Talbot fans that made the journey tonight however, shame their team couldn't put in the same level of performance.

We should be looking to give Falkirk a good game, especially at Gayf.

If we play like we’ve played for 99.7% of this season you’ll win at least 2 zip.

        Doyle Toshney Buchanan Dixon

    Longridge     Gomis      Tidser         Connolly

                     McManus       Sammon

With the full squad available (bearing in mind different formations etc) and playing to 100% potential, I think this is our strongest team on paper. Dixon is shite but will do until January. I think our three main strikers are interchangeable, and as Marshmallo said earlier on the thread, should all be more than good enough for League One. I want to see what Tidser is actually made of with a proper run in the team before I judge him fully. Despite what others have said, I've been impressed with him over the years and you don't just suddenly become shite. Now the entire team are free of Ray, I want to see what their like, hopefully with a bit of fight instilled in them by a coaching staff who know whats expected.

Pretty much agree, but would argue we’ve played our “best” stuff this season with a telfer Connolly gomis longridge midfield. But then also agree we won’t see what tidser can do until he plays a few games in a row and we just cannot have a Tidser gomis Telfer 3, it doesn’t work. So it’s a straight telfer v tidser fight.

There’s basically nothing between the 3 strikers, have no idea what combination is best but any combination is easily good enough for this league. As long as none of them play on the wing ever again I’ll be happy.

But how shite is Connor Salmon though? I mean seriously.

Talk about an overpaid waste of space. The only real damage he’s done this season is to your wage bill.
    Honking.

Scored more than any Raith or East Fife player this season. Given service he’ll be absolutely fine. He has been a diddy the last couple of games mind you

Gutted to see the big man leave us. All the best to him.

What would worry me though, is this attitude of "someone who knows the club". Throwaway nonsense. Do he and McCracken know Falkirk underachieving in L1? No, they don't. Indeed, Lee's last memories of Falkirk when he left weren't good - he took plenty digs at how the club was being run after he joined us, saying that Falkirk was a shambles and he'd never seen anything like it. Now, I don't know if he was referring to things at a managerial level re. Hartley, or things higher up.

Both and he’d be absolutely right. The real problem (boardroom) is still there but this seems like a decent appointment to at least get a small bit of feel good around the team back - we do still have to really try and win the league this year. With a QOS or someone half decent down next year we’ll not get a better chance

Here we go another week of being subjected to ridicule, fantasy and everyone having “ insider information “

    Expect the unexpected 🥳

Spot on, remember when Hartley was sacked every man and their dug knew who was coming in. Don’t think a single person guessed Ray. I weep at how happy we were when it happened

Money been going on Gart McAllister and David McCracken apparently. Would be happy with both for different reasons - Gary Mac will have loads of connections down South, and McCracken strikes me as being very fitness focused with a willingness to try modern methods. He would create a good atmosphere in the dressing room as well.

I would love to have Mcracken in the fold. Madman like Mikey Doyle but absolute fitness freak too. Much needed.

Watching Falkirk's highlights theyre very one sided; it looks like Dumbarton didnt get out their own half for half an hour.

Very soft penalty too, the defender had the ball blasted against him -no attempt to handle the ball.

I don’t like this current team, wanted to lose to get rid of McKinnon, and generally think handballs are given far too often and hate the new handball rule. And yet that is still one of the most blatant pens I’ve seen in the last 3 years

Unfortunatly theirs an element of the Falkirk support mainly middle aged mind you that wont recognise yous have a problem here.Yous got out of jail today. But your club arent listening to yous. Its tough, but yous will have to ride this out.Tough times ahead in Grangemouth methinks.

Tough times ahead? Today might genuinely be our lowest ebb. Hopefully McKinnon sacked the next couple of days, new manager who can then take us up, board replacement. If McKinnon stays we may well lose to Lithgae.

We announced the game was all ticket weeks ago, I assume of the back of information that Falkirk could sell out their end. I'm sure you could have made some sort of collection arrangement with your club or even another fan of your club if you were really arsed.

Tbf the most likely explanation is someone in our club told dumbarton there would be massive demand because they’re out of touch with the reality of our support and thus it was made all ticket

  11. 5 minutes ago, Marshmallo said:

Fair play to Dumbarton FC for making it a near impossibility for anyone who doesn't have an FK postcode to sit in the away end of a ground that will be half full.

Aye, what’s all that about? It was PATG when we were in champ and crowds have only dwindled since. Mental

Bell could be a Championship backup...Buchanan, unlikely...Durnan, has a chance to start in Championship...Toshney, nope...Doyle, yes, probably...Telfer, possibly, but not certainly...Connolly, you've been drinking...Tidser, I just don't know, but it isn't certain he would be...Gomis, certainly a depth player for a Championship team, at least, but never a fulltime player now...Longridge, ok...Sammon, washed up...McManus, yep...McMillan, would be marginal.

All that being said, that gives you a keeper, one or two backs, one to three mids and two or three forwards that should be top level players in League One. So that speaks to either a motivational issue or a managerial issue...and most people here have diagnoised a management issue, which contributes to the motivational issue.

As a thought, what do you figure this team would be doing in the Championship with Ray coaching it?

Are you so obsessed with our team you think you actually know more about it than Falkirk fans? Toshney seems like a better player than Buchanan and durnan combined, so not sure why he wouldn’t get a champ gig. Telfer and Connolly came from a champ team and would definitely had offers to stay. Tidser has flattered to deceive but Morton fans had a hissy fit when he left. Gomis can’t play more than 60 so that may be a barrier to a champ team I’ll give you that. Still maintain there’s a player in sammon, he was banging them at the start of the season before McKinnon shat all over everything we do

I agree in some areas that the players should be ashamed but these players that are here are here for one or two reasons, one money and the other that no one else a league or two above us wanted them.

Mutch is our only sellable asset, the rest are journey men or nearly men, yes some should be too good for this league but the management has built a squad that's the equivalent of wethers originals in being nice and there is the problem

I agree to an extent. Genuinely doubt however that Bell, Buchanan, Durnan, Toshney, Doyle, Telfer (remember him?), Connolly, Tidser, Gomis, Longridge, Sammon, McManus, McMillan would’ve been struggling for a Championship contract at worst. They’re here only because of money - not blaming them for that. It’s up to the manager to get a tune out of a squad that should hold its own in the Championship.

Especially when he is absolutely rubbish.

His interview in The Herald today was a delight. "Results haven't been great but remember we were top going into Saturday". That attitude needs driven out. Never going to succeed importing culture from the Mortons and Queen of the Souths of this world.

This is absolutely bang on btw. Players should be ashamed they’re not 10 points clear, but instead ray’s mentality of oh but we’re in touch so all is well has seeped into them. It’s the reason we went down last year (after being 8th in March) and the reason we won’t go up this year with Ray at the helm
