So, just to offer a mild distraction from the McKinnon/pitchfork crowd w**k for a wee bit, listening to the complaints on game threads and watching some highlights, exactly who is actually playing well for FFC and who is stealing a wage? For instance, most seem to believe that Gomis and Longridge are solid players, and few rate Dixon as worth a sixpence. How about a rundown of who is actually: Top performer, Worth the wage, On the fence, Stealing the money, Complete waste of a uniform? The reality is once McKinnon gets emptied, someone has to try to sort out the mess he made.
The only ones who I don’t think can be in a falkirk starting 11 that’ll win the league this year are Dixon, Durnan and maybe Tidser. The rest are 100% more than capable to walk this league. So basically new manager - play toshney instead of Durnan and find a replacement for Dixon, done.

Thought Falkirk looked exactly the same as the first time we played them. Had more of the ball and territory, but as mentioned I don't think Hutton made an actual save, all he had to do was just pick up lots of loose balls and punch/catch crosses. Whereas Mutch made a couple of good stops and we missed virtually an open goal.
Falkirk seem to try and play a possession style game to allow the full-backs to get forward and put crosses in. Against teams in this league that is playing in to most teams' hands as heading balls away is about all most defenders in this league can do. Plus when all your width comes from full-backs unless you are Liverpool the quality they are going to produce tends not to be the same as that of more naturally attacking wide players. Energetic ball winners in centre midfield and pace out wide is what is needed at this level, I've been crying out for us to try and get this for years rather than searching for the elusive 'creative midfielder' that actually isn't necessary at this level. Falkirk seem to have signed a few of these guys who are good players (Gomis particularly was class) but they probably aren't what Falkirk need given how every team is going to play against them. Like we did, teams will sit in and just watch them passing it side to side not going anywhere until the full-back hits a cross in.
I still think Falkirk will win the league, but the longer they go being stuck in a quagmire with 3 or 4 other teams and not pulling ahead the more the pressure will build and unease amongst the fans will increase, which is only going to make it even harder for them.
Can you take over from McKinnon please? More actual tactical chat in this message than he’s provided in 13 months

Just witnessed a very enjoyable afternoon at a real game of football with Airdrie winning their first ever game at the stadium, Couple of serious questions guys,,, You have a fantastic setup and stadium well worthy of the Premier League, a fan base to be proud of, How the f***k have you ended up in the seaside league. Is the stadium owned or rented , The Falkirk team on paper should blow away most teams in this league, Twice i have saw Falkirk and they have played the same both games, to me it didn't seem that Falkirk were wi!long to spill blood for the cause, Airdrie for once did and they have given their all for The much maligned Ian Murray, is McKinnon the problem or his scattergun approach to signings. Personally I think Falkirk are still favourites for the title, Morgaro Gomis was all over the park, but most of his good work was always on the fringes and didn't cause too many problems....
Fairly sure Ray is a massive part of the problem but the players should be embarrassed of themselves. A squad that wouldn’t be out of place in the championship bottling it every single time any team stands up to them.
Funnily enough thought today was one of Gomis’s poorest games for us. Gave the ball away countless times. Yet, was still in our top 3 performers. Says it all.

Ooooffftt! Can of worms there as our own support is split on that!
There was a real mix of flags from what I’ve see. Some red and white saltires with Airdrie badges, some Union Flags (maybe 2) and a brilliant Donald Trump one. Looks a bit better than empty seats though!
Fair enough, looked a complete whitewash of Union Jack flags from where I was. I haven’t said a word about it, just didn’t understand if it was a conscious thing your lot did

Alright, I’ll bite.
Airdrie fans were on very good form today. Only thing that could be “incorrectly” associated with that comment
To the tune of Marching Through Georgia
Hello Hello You Are The Airdrie Boys
Hello Hello You’ll know is by our noise
We’re up to our knees in Motherwell Blood
Surrender or you’ll die
We are the mental Airdrie Boys
Lots of clubs sing that. Man U, Killie, Dundee United etc. Rangers sing a very different lyric. That shouldn’t stop anyone else singing it.
I’m sure there was a thread about “we are the steeple” which burnt all of our eyes!Don’t mind the song tbh, dad’s a killie fan so know what the difference in meaning is.
What was with all the Union Jack flags though? Bit weird, was a big display for about 300 fans

If you were referring to me my point was I do not get the excitement involved with the match for reasons I stated.
I don't see how you then make the huge jump to it being "the new norm". It's one match versus non-league, or junior or whatever they are, opposition (I'm sorry I don't actually know).
FYI - I would much rather be at Falkirk v Airdrie
Piss up in a small nearby town with good pubs on a Friday night and a ground not many have visited in a while/ever? Yeah mate sounds terrible. Have a word

The average home gate is around 350. With the capacity restrictions we are giving you around 35pct of what we have available. If we get permission to increase the capacity this will increase again if your club wants more.
That really won't be remotely helpful.
I mean watching, not jumping it, not to worry

Looks like an over the wall job for a lot of us

Anyone having a go at Linlithgow for this is silly. They’ve earned their spot in this round and clearly want as much home advantage as possible. If only our spineless board could’ve done the same in some of our cup games (those Sevco cup games a few years ago for example) we may have performed better than rolling over time and time again.

600 tickets for Linlithgow, eeek

Was just thinking about one f in falkirk there and the total scenes that would’ve occurred throughout the MC debacle on there. I reckon it would’ve had him ousted in about 3 hours. Basket case of a forum mind you

Imagine how easy this league would be if our players got coached actual tactics. Glad we’re top.

That starting 11 gives me the fear. Could be a horrid showing today

Administration 2 beckons. Probably just start up again as falkirk fc and start at the bottom of leauge 2 and be liquidated. The new team will still be called falkirk and will play at the stadium. The press will never mention the liquidation and pretend it really never happened ......Their history will not be broken......and .....it will be everyone else's fault as no one likes them... Scottish football needs a strong falkirk.....
What the f**k is this

Anyone know anything about the supposed meeting between fans groups with MC tonight? Apparently at the inchyra, seen a few things about it on twitter/fb

Going to miss this which is a pain in arse as the only positive i took in relegation was getting to grounds I haven't been to yet.
I think one of the biggest issues for us is workrate/runners. Aside from Gomis and Doyle the rest of the team seems to be waiting for someone else to do the hard work for them. We really need more of a balance. I'd have Connolly in for McManus as the latter isn't a winger and hasn't impressed as a striker lately either.
Not sure who should replace Gomis (and maybe Telfer too). Tidser is the obvious choice but I'd be worried about having nobody making tackles in the midfield. Maybe Tidser and McShane in for Telfer and Gomis.
Up front I think we stick with McMillan and Sammon with McManus off the bench if needed. Probably the same defence as I'd love to drop Dixon but there's no other LB.
Bell
Doyle Durnan (who was actually ok on Saturday) Buchanan Dixon
Longridge McShane Tidser Connolly
Sammon McMillan
Reasonable post until you suggested Gomis to be benched

Falkirk TV is an embarrassment
Why are our highlights so much worse in quality than any other club too? Clarity of picture worse, ability to follow the ball worse, zoom worse. Raith tv for example a couple weeks ago, night and day compared to ours. I don’t care if the commentators are rubbish and the post match questions are soft, just turn the sound off, but the highlights themselves need work. Unbelievable we used to cough up a fiver a month for that

Holy f**k just seen the highlights. I know the lot of them were shite but Paul fucking Dixon. I’m fucking irate. Out of position, then retreats away from the attacker, then turns his back on the shot and jumps out the way like a wet wipe. Guy should be fucking ashamed of himself at that.

Can’t wait to get out of league 1 just so our match threads don’t include constant moaning from fans paying 3 pounds more to watch a game than they usually do

While I agree in principle, I still think that even a competent manager might have a time piecing together a side that both suits the current players strengths and addresses the week to week challengers. There are several weak spots (with only one player him their preferred spot) or even gaps, depending on the formation. To an extent, Ray’s shameful tactical displays are driven by his haphazardly built team.
Even a top chef can only do so much with limited ingredients. That’s why I suspect tossing Ray wouldn’t solve the deeper issue completely, and suggest a change (rather than a rearrangement of the deck chairs) would have to accompany Ray’s firing.
You seem know a lot about our team don’t you. Don’t think I could name more than 4 Raith players

4/1 is a very generous price for anyone looking this weekend. Just as airdrie 5/1 was last weekend. Basically don’t bet on Falkirk, really think the players have packed it in the last 3 weeks and want McKinnon gone. Only saved by a truly terrible forfar team 2 weeks ago
