  1. Shame for Morrison. Looked promising at qp when fit but he was awfully injury prone. Seems like he’s had no luck here also
  2. Liverpool missed a trick 2 or 3 years ago by not evolving the squad. Slowly but surely that team has got older and players like Firmino, Fabinho and even Van Dijk aren’t at the elite level they once were. Doesn’t help when Gomez and Trent are consistent liabilities also. The loss of Mane was severely underestimated. For me, he was the key to Liverpool’s fluency and fear factor to their attack If you’re trying to win the biggest prizes in football in 2022 and you are bringing Henderson and Milner on as subs. You’re in trouble
  3. In the summer period, yes I would not of been against a new keeper being signed based on the performances Ferrie shown last season. He cost us games and looked very jittery in key moments…However, he’s been fantastic this season and he’s bailed out a lot of the defensive lapses we’ve shown on countless occasions. I’m convinced we don’t win away at Accies had he not pulled off a unbelievable last ditch save in the first half. Moments like that people will forget easily but naturally last night’s howler will be talked about for ages. Mental some of the abuse he takes during the games on a weekly basis Has Eze been dropped after some of his howlers? Robson was at direct fault away at Arbroath for their goal, was he dropped ? Was Bannon dropped after the Arbroath home game for his mistake? Davidson’s fresh air kick away at Inverness? There’s more to it when it comes to dropping players rather than simply howler = dropped.
  4. Wild. Aye he was really poor tonight and his mistake was dreadful but to drop him ? Couple winnable games coming to pick up some big points and we try an untested Heraghty? No thanks. Unless there’s a consistent trend in howlers in the near future, Ferrie stays in the team Wouldn’t be against playing Heraghty against Peterhead if I had to play him at some point
  5. Played in a front two against Raith and was still hoaching in fairness I desperately want him to do well but it’s just not happened for him. He might go and do well at another club but for one reason or another, it’s badly went wrong here
  6. Wouldn’t surprise if someone like Jason Naismith ends up there soon. Can’t see him lasting the season with us tbh
  7. I’m more raging with Dom Thomas tbh. Crucial in everything we do this season and gets the most stupid second yellow. Offside or not, he needed to keep his mouth shut in that moment Obviously gutted we didn’t win but to take 4 points from 6 against thistle and Dundee the last 2 games, I would of absolutely took. We got exposed a bit out wide towards the latter stages of the game but my goodness we do love giving teams a gift of a goal. You can’t help but say that was an utter calamity from Ferrie but I won’t be too harsh on him. He’s been excellent this season and that was his first real howler of the season. Mistakes happen for any keeper It was a fairly entertaining game overall and both teams gave it a good go. Dundee’s subs seem to make them stronger whilst we looked considerably weaker. Kenny and David Boateng especially looking poor. Cove next week followed by an Inverness team who look absolutely done through injuries. Real opportunity for points here. Hopefully in the coming weeks, some sort of bigger gap between 5th can appear. Any playoff spot would be lovely Also never play Johnny Kenny again please. He’s been absolutely atrocious for us I’m afraid. I was hoping he was just adapting to the team at first but he’s shown nothing to suggest he’s championship level. Would be looking to get him punted in January for someone else. Williamson must think what on earth has happened for him to get 0 minutes again
  8. Jeezo stop crying about Coyle I’ve never seen a set of fans so wound up about a manager that’s literally had no impact on Dundee. Even if you win tonight, we all know that several will foaming out the mouth from Coyle’s interview. Weird behaviour At least you’re not totally rattled about us in the slightest then going by this. You’re only the 387th person on here to mention how we’ll financially combust in the future based on nothing other than a blind assumption of “throwing every penny” Pleasing
  9. On to the game tonight, I’m really looking forward to it. We’ve not laid a glove on Dundee in our previous meetings this season but after that Thistle result last week, we should be going into this game full of confidence. Think you’d be daft to make any changes to the lineup, everyone was terrific last week. Any type of winning run in this league and you can start to pull away, hopefully it’s us
  10. Overall, I’ve been very pleased with our season as it stands. Going into the summer, we had released a large portion of our squad that finished 4th in league 1 the season before, so a wee bit of rebuild was needed. The brand of football is certainly a hell of a lot more entertaining than last season and although we’ve had a couple horror shows, most notably against Ayr on two occasions, we’ve settled into the championship without much fuss Recruitment has been decent on the whole. Mal Boateng, Grant Savoury and Dom Thomas have been the outstanding additions and have really added that extra bit of quality that’s needed to bridge the gap from league 1 to championship. Still some massive questions marks over Jason Naismith and Johnny Kenny but at this level, not every signing will turn out to be perfect. What’s really evident this season is the vast improvement in players that have been here for the last year or two. Guys like Robson, Kilday and Murray are all arguably playing their best football for QP now and that’s despite them being around since the league 2 season. The development in Jack Thomson has been incredible also. He was ropey for large parts of last season but now he looks one of the best centre mids in the championship. Just shows you what a legitimately decent manager in Coyle and installing confidence does to players Ayr are definitely the best team to play us this season, particularly Akinyemi who has looked a cheat code against us. However, I can’t say there’s anyone else that’s actually looked that great. I guess that’s the beauty of the championship that anyone can beat anyone on any given day
  11. Notoriously been a tough venue for us but Peterhead are utterly woeful this season. Would be shocked if we don’t win tbh
  12. Confused as to why some Dundee fans have a total dislike for Coyle? Even when we’ve been convincingly beaten on the previous two occasions, there seemed to be more tears on here regarding Coyle’s interviews
  13. An unbelievable result against what I’d consider the favourites to win the league. We had to weather a bit of pressure first half and there’s no doubt it would’ve been a different game had thistle scored the penalty, however we defended our box brilliantly which was pleasantly surprising. Eze was fantastic yesterday and I just hope he can become consistent with those performances because we’ve seen against Arbroath, Raith and Thistle that he can be effective. You couldn’t really fault anyone in their performance yesterday but I can’t speak highly enough of Jack Thomson nowadays. He could genuinely be a contender for our player of the year so far. He’s got everything. Pace, power, energy, strong in the tackle and he’s a threat going forward. He’s on 3 year deal for good reason now and at 22 years old, I wouldn’t bet against a team paying money for him if keeps these performances up for the rest of the season. Night and day from last season, he’s kicked on so much Dom Thomas is also a sheer joy to watch. Ripped apart a very decent left back in Milne inside and out. One of the most entertaining players I’ve seen at QP
  14. Brian graham is a detestable footballer. Falls like a fairy and then swipes at Thomas out of frustration once his dive didn’t work
  15. The only tactical switch I’ve ever disagreed with from Coyle so far is not sticking with Williamson and Murray up top. Even if Williamson doesn’t score, he makes the players around him (Savoury and Murray especially) play so much more fluid and threatening. The guy has made an incredible step up from Cambuslang and looks more than competent at championship level. He plays ahead of Kenny every time for me until Kenny shows something notable at all
  16. Aye surprisingly for number 27 (Jarrett) that was only his very first start in the league. He’s barely even had minutes off the bench either, definitely earned his spot for next week after last night Was expecting Scott Allan to be involved at some point, especially when it became 1-1. Unfit ? Or just been generally rubbish ? Think Hamilton look most in trouble for the drop this season. Arbroath at least have some character throughout the squad, whereas Hamilton look woeful in all aspects on and off the park
  17. Derek Gaston is still an unbelievable keeper at this level. Still mind when he was at Albion Rovers years ago and he pulled off the best save I’ve ever seen live from a goal bound header from Paul Quinn I’m sure? Probably what Gaston was referring to in his tweet after last nights save
  18. You think? I thought he was excellent last night and was one of our better players. Constantly involved in our attacks and set up the opening goal and nearly got a second assist with a lovely ball to Murray which Gaston provided an unbelievable save. He’s been terrific for us this season overall Arbroath certainly looked a lot better than the fixture in august. There just seemed to be a lot more fight about youse this time but whether the quality up top is there to get you away from the bottom 2 I’m unsure still. Linn looked decent and Gaston was brilliant. The huge guy in midfield looked all over the place though
  19. I’m trying hard to not fully rule him out but he was utterly dreadful when he came on. Didn’t look interested and his touch was all over the place Don’t even think we should of subbed Murray in the first place tbh
  20. Frustrating result. Thought there was enough to get the 3 points but a world class save from Gaston and a goal that wouldn’t look out of place at Sunday league level cost us. Feel for Bannon, he’s a huge talent for 18 years old and he still absolutely starts for me next week but it was a horrible goal to lose. He’ll learn from that Pat Jarrett and jack thomson were excellent but Mal Boateng was a class above in midfield. Get him signed up in January please ASAP. It’s hard to not feel deflated after that because we weren’t actually that bad at all. We were more aggressive than usual and we tried to do the right things. We just didn’t get the breaks. We’re still in a really positive place regarding the league table but there’s no denying how difficult the upcoming fixtures are
  21. Fair enough. Changes are definitely needed but I just wouldn’t want to mess the team up so much to the point where we look entirely disjointed. Honestly I think the only changes we need are getting Eze and Naismith out for Davidson and Bannon. Davidson has obvious flaws defensively but he was exposed so badly against Morton due to having a complete nothing player in McPake in front of him who provided zero cover for him. Savoury is excellent defensively for majority of the time and his last ditch header against raith exemplified that. Kilday over the piece has been decent this season and he’s covered a lot for Eze’s poor positional sense. Mid table championship is Kilday’s ceiling. He’ll have really good games and then the odd time, he’ll have a howler.
  22. Savoury may of been rubbish last couple games but I’m definitely not at the stage where he should be dropped. For me, you could argue that he’s been our best player this season. Need our best players out for this particular game, especially when you look at who we’ve got afterwards. Who would you play out wide instead? McPake, Moore or longridge? Moore probably the best candidate to replace him at the moment but this game is massive in terms of stopping our poor form. Defensively, yes massive changes are needed
  23. What an incredibly odd signing Naismith has been. Really decent pedigree across his career and aye maybe had a bad spell at Killie but I was going into the season thinking he was gonna be a nailed on starter. I do think he’ll be one of the better paid players also. I get the impression that the management have seen him in training and realised that his legs look gone at full back, especially for the type of football we are trying to play Unlike Eze who’s played a decent number of games now to bed in, I’m willing to give Naismith the benefit of the doubt at this stage considering it’s the guys first ever start for us. However I would consider playing him centre half in future
  24. Maybe an opportunity for Pat Jarrett to play soon? I actually thought he looked very impressive in the league cup but he’s barely featured in the league which is surprising. I’d even be tempted to use Louis longridge in an advanced midfield role centrally for particular away games. He’s not got enough pace to play out wide anymore but he’s silky enough on the ball and gives that wee bit more experience, particularly in away games
  25. I wish him all the best at Morton as I do with any other player that leaves and he’ll always be a part of the double promotion winning squad but he was so poor last season. Gave the ball away an incredible amount and put us under severe and unnecessary pressure throughout games. He was great in league 2 which you’d expect but the standards dropped significantly in league 1
