  1. Quantity and quality are two completely different things. Williamson, jakubiak, Sheridan have all made positive impacts on the occasions we’ve played each other and would walk into our squad. Whilst the latter two aren’t particularly amazing, they’re very much competent enough at this level to still contribute. When our first eleven aren’t performing, we’ve generally not had the personnel to counter that issue, especially against the teams around us unfortunately
  2. Can’t stay I’m raging. Incredibly underwhelmed by the performance but we’re top of the league and picked up numerous results where I didn’t think we’d get anything from. You’ll naturally get the Gretna narrative but it’s been an incredible season so far from a squad nobody predicted to be up at the very top. Dundee are clearly very good when it clicks and there’s no shame losing to them away from home. The manner was very disappointing admittedly, we just didn’t lay a glove on youse. Think Dundee will have enough to win the league but it’s been proven in the last month that anyone can pick up a daft and unexpected result so you never know
  3. Again what’s quite evident when playing Dundee is how subs impact games. Today none of our attack clicked whatsoever yet we had nobody on the bench that could change the game. Longridge is past it, Healy has just came in from arthurlie and Williamson is still finding his way since coming from cambuslang. You could only turn to Henderson to potentially help and he only joined this week. In every league encounter this season, at least one of Dundee’s substitutes have scored a goal against us. That tells its own story on how crucial squad depth is if you want to win this league. I’d obviously adore to win the league but we’d get absolutely hounded with this squad in the premiership.
  4. Right back desperately needed. Davidson was awful for the opener. He’s promising going forward but he’s still very naive defensively
  5. God awful performance. Fair play to Dundee, they were miles better. Reality check for sure but doesn’t define our season. A couple signings before Tuesday please We’re still right in the mix and every team is capable of dropping results so let’s just make sure it’s a blip. Thank goodness we don’t play Dundee until the end of the season. They’ve had our number all season and just look generally better than us. Surprised they’ve dropped as many points as they have. They looked far more up for it We’re still top so we shouldn’t be too downhearted at this stage. Massive game next Friday now Let’s just make sure we make the playoffs comfortably first and take it from there
  6. He might just need a run of game in all honesty. For as slow as he was, it’s hard enough for any footballer to gain any sort of momentum if you’re just playing 1 or 2 games every couple of months. Whether cove can afford to have a player that might need several games to get up to speed is another question
  7. I think one league start and a handful of cup appearances tells its own story for Naismith. There’s no doubts he was a fine player 4 years ago but his legs are totally gone. I’m shocked that he’s only 28, you’d think he was about 35 the way he sprints. It didn’t seem like he had enough positional intelligence off the ball to compromise for his lack of pace either All the best to him, I can’t give you a full rundown on him as he barely played enough but I’d imagine he was one of the higher earners in the squad so hopefully leaves room for a signing before the transfer deadline
  8. I can fully accept him leaving at the end of the season tbh. I honestly expected him to leave last summer but maybe didn’t get as much exposure playing in league 1. He’s the full package; Pace, power, leadership, dribbling, passing and has a got a goal in him also. I have no doubts that he could go into a team like hearts right now and be a regular fixture in that side. I’d imagine the money is down in England and if he has a strong season at either Wycombe or Fleetwood, it could potentially lead to a move even further up the chain. Like you said, best defender in the league and at 24 years old, there’s no chance I think we keep him beyond this season. Just don’t lose him in January please
  9. Ahh you’re right in fact How could I forget your new man up top Thomas and his staggering 19 career goals Sounds a proper player mate
  10. Have you considered the weird concept that Murray may have just improved as a footballer now? He’s matured from admittedly a fairly headless chicken to a really effective striker and I think the difference nowadays has been the dramatic development in his hold up and link up play. Even his record in the top flight isn’t horrendous - 57 games and 16 goals. Not that it’s amazing by any means but it hardly justifies the statement of “he’s pish” when he’s quite clearly not. There’s been diddies playing in the top flight for years that barely hit 5 goals
  11. I think McPake has improved considerably since the start of the season and I’d like to see him stay for the season but I can’t say I’d be going above and beyond to pay money for him permanently. He’s got a really good strike on him but I’m still to be convinced in a number of areas for him to be deemed a top player at this level
  12. Generally not feeling too nervous going into this. Had it been the other way about and we were chasing Dundee at the top, I’d feel like we’d have to take something if were to make any genuine title charge. We’ve created a wee tiny gap which allows for a couple of poor results if they arise. For as tough as the next two league fixture look, it presents an incredible opportunity to be in pole position for the title. Worst case scenario we lose both games, we’re still going to be right in the mix. What’s clear and somewhat reassuring is that the teams around us are all capable of producing a daft result every now and again. Dundee losing to Arbroath at home, Morton losing to Hamilton, Ayr dropping points at home to Arbroath etc. We seem to have a level of consistency just now but we need to start beating the teams around us. I don’t think we’ll win the league if we go through the season without beating either Ayr and Dundee. I still think Dundee are the best team I’ve seen this season so I’d be more than satisfied with a draw followed by a win against Ayr.
  13. I noticed a couple of Dundee players subbed in the first half yesterday. Are they Likely to be out for the game ?
  14. Convenient that 2nd handball shout was deemed as no penalty at 4-0 once the game is done. Looked more of a pen than the first
  15. Trying too hard Don’t think a lineup defines whether or not it’s points dropped. Even still, You’re on form, at home and had a lineup on the pitch which could compete with almost everyone in the league still and that cannot be denied. Saying that lineup is a reserve side is entirely inaccurate. A point away from home to a resurgent Inverness side is absolutely fine. We had chances but equally it took a save of the season from ferrie to stop us losing. Don’t understand where the term ‘points dropped’ comes into that bracket If anything it’s points dropped for yourselves considering the wild talk prior to the game of going for the title
  16. Aww aye looking at the lineup against us, I forgot Ridgers, Billy McKay, Devine, Welsh, Carson, Henderson and Daniel McKay make up the backbone of the Inverness reserve side.
  17. The same Inverness that put a statement out that they’d play their reserves against Hamilton in the cup cause they were too scared to get another injury cause league was deemed as priority ?
  18. What a terrible reschedule date that is for us. Play on a Tuesday night followed by a huge Friday night game against Ayr. Got to imagine all the fringe players will play Inverness now ?
  19. Was just coming on here as I heard about the links with Connor shields a couple days back. From what I heard, he is apparently off to qp but could ultimately just be nonsense and end up elsewhere
  20. Seen on Twitter that we’ve enquired about Connor shields from Motherwell. Dundee and Doncaster also in for him. Apparently looking to sign for a team that’ll play him up top instead of out wide like he has been at Motherwell Watched a few Motherwell games over the last couple seasons when my pals had a spare ticket and he’s a very powerful runner but seems to lack a bit technically. Probably a similar narrative people would give to Simon Murray a few years back
  21. Absolute state of Dodds with those comments. Totally misinterpreted as it’s abundantly clear that Coyle isn’t disrespecting Inverness whatsoever. Coyle is correct in what he says. Billy McKay in 2023 is indeed a very decent championship striker, you can’t say he’s a top premiership player anymore and there’s no shame in that. Inverness did play counter attacking football for large spells also which again there’s no shame as we’re an excellent team going forward. Coyle is generally incredibly respectful of any opposition in his post match interviews. Surprised Dodds is in tears over this
