He also couldn't get a game in front of Lee Miller before the season stopped. Sammon is a lazy b*****d. Dowds sounds like he likes to hold the ball up, run the channels, battle against defences and actually tries a leg. I personally hope Sammon never gets off the bench unless it's an absolute necessity.

Aye cos the gulf from us to your lot is huge right enough. I'd be careful what you wish for.

Mark Durnan, Ben Hall, Paul Dixon, Charlie Telfer and Aiden Connolly sign 1year deals at Falkirk.

There's absolutely no pace at all in our midfield with the exception of Connolly, it remains to be seen what Leitch and Laverty bring. Hopefully Dowds is a huge upgrade on Sammon.

He's been pretty much injured since he signed for Thistle. If they can get him fit, with Graham and Lyons they will score plenty in this league which doesn't bode well for us.

I just hope we get a couple of forwards with pace to burn, and someone who can hold the ball up and is decent in the air. Hopefully Miller registers himself as a player to push Sammon further out the picture.

Rumour was we were in for O'Hara aswell, and Ricky Foster.

Dundee fans seem to be saying it's Hemmings who wouldn't take a wage cut. I'd say injury problems and cost cutting are the reasons they have punted Nelson.

You can't knock the fact that Buchanan was a fan, captain and loved playing for the club. Sadly he just didn't have the ability to go with it. We might have had the best defence in the league but that was also partly down to the level of opposition we faced each week. He was all over the place at times and it's no coincidence Durnan's ( who incidentally was made the scapegoat at times for us conceding goals ) form improved markedly without Buchanan beside him. If he'd walk into your team your defence must be rank rotten.

I actually can't believe we are in talks to re sign Telfer. I hope he knocks us back to concentrate on his law career. We already have one passenger in Sammon, don't need another.

I doubt Houston would want to come back given the way things went at the end and let's not forget his recruitment was in the main poor. Jefferies at least could spot a player so he would have been ideal in that sense.

I don't think yogi would be interested in anything other than a managerial post.

Surely if they need any help they could pick Totten's brains for advice. I don't get this director of football thing, Alex Smith was here long enough but apart from offering a few pearls of wisdom and reminiscing of days gone by like his cup final win at St. Mirren what did he actually do?
