  1. the table is looking very tight indeed so anything could happen i guess but if it does it would be so much better than our current position of doom of glum recently on this forum. any chance of a wee sneeky signing on the free, Julen? wheres he now another centre back option would add competion to Dunlop and Watson? or i noticed Alex harris has left falkirk recently, player is on the fall of grace in terms of his carrer since his days with Dundee/Hibs but would be useful wide midfield to add to the squad perhaps? if hes not yet found another club since i saw his release.
  2. Promoted Montrose or not. We’ve been desprate for a win but with FIVE games into the new season we’ve done it hopefully next week isn’t back to our pattern of last season. We didn’t conced from corner today, didn’t give away a penalty which is encouraging to note. Long looked solid all game stopping shots left, right and centre and even Davidson scored his first east fife goal in the black and gold all postives to take from the game today and hopefully we’ve turned the corner because now the bottom of the table looks interesting if we do intend to kick on from here and up the table.
  3. So will Jim Duffy both are Ex championship managers of 2018 era, both poses experience in managing at full time level.
  4. well we have four days in this transfer window to go if we have anything left that is to approve the squad.
  5. rather he was out their player than step into management, just yet.
  6. That’s four games in and we have took one point in kirkcaldy and no wins!! i think its all desprate stuff now and people will mention the full time to part time case and their league position. DY was given a two years contract fair enough but at the end of the day footballs are all about result business and if you cant keep enough clean sheets aswell as get wins as we aint doing it’ll be difficult to stay in this league as its appearing to some and they do have their case as the league table wont lie to some surely if this carries on the bod will have one mind unless they are accepting these results due to how we are playing but not winning many games which i dont think they will, Its a case DY tried his best and times is nearing the end i guess but lets see what next week in store for us eh? faith is there? but we need wins when bottom!! Well friday’s is when the transfer window closes and i think one or two loan players in would help this squad certainly a tall CH and a midfielder/winger type hopefully we aint finished in terms of squad completion, fingers cross.
  7. Yeah, he was much the better goalie we had last year among Ryan Goodfellow and Cordery(sold to juniors in january) we had he was a raw, very young goalkeeper we got from st johnstone on a loan he made one clean sheet after that he was giving the number one goalie jersey until the end of the season. nothing spectualar nothing bad probably average goalie for this level and still very young and upcoming talent think if we had re-signed he would be pretty much 2nd choice likewise McDowall and Couser weve got.
  8. when Lee came in and saw his team was in the same league as east fife he saw flashing lights but as soon as some of the current directors were leaving and against the idea of him as our chairman it turned out to be a sour experience and with us relegated and giving us Gary Naysmith in the process as manager was not going be a match made in heaven job only experience one tbh and therefore found out and now his bussiness are starting to crumble in the current climate. Im happy with the current directors we have they have stablizes the club over these years but we all like new people on board to take the club in the next direction, ideas and put money into the bussiness but it has to people in it for the club/bussiness not thereselfs really and i guess Lee was found out to be in that category sadly. wonder if we have any room for either a CH or a midfielder before fridays deadline in scottish transfer window?
  9. Easton always wind us up i doubt he’ll be heading to methil, it seems to me he has something against East Fife since his days from league two but he has that passion and aggresion if he loved us he would be a better option to the one you mention and certainly replace wilkie from last season.
  10. he came to us onloan in january and tbh he was our best goalie we had last season, thought we could of re-signed him but we have three goalies he did ok at this level his memorable game was his first game when he kept a clean sheet something thats not been archieve since at EAST FIFE!!! and is still young goalie that was released by st johnstone. since i quoted this was just wondering if we are still active in the transfer market? loans? would still add a defender noticed celtic kid Calvin Miller would like a loan move!! mostly a CH, one or two midfielders if anything.
  11. second that, the ex scotland internationalist caused all sorts of problems last season at rangers and its probably followed him over at Almondvale i would still have the boy Dowds and Smith ahead of him anyways
  12. yeah i heard docherty is out until september but i wouldnt have him anywhere near our defence after that peterhead game last season would use him as a defensive centre midfield where he scored most of our goals and penalties from, only one i would like to see is Linton back in at left back if any of Dunlop nor watson got injured and playing chris kane gives me the total fear” but he willdo just a player for the bench in my eyes, though we could do with another CH loanee to improve not losing any set pieces and have a options once injuries get tough going it seems to have lost the ever present of Johnny Page as edge in our own six yard box when defending through the middle!!!. seen yesterday we had no back up keeper listed on the bench either last night if anyone took note though we appear to have three keepers same like last season and another midfield i would add too, hopefully theres budget left or clubs start sending out their kids now most of the colts were put out bar Hamilton, St Mirren and Motherwell colts so who knows who DY sets up on saturday...
  13. what a relief last night was, coming from a goal down to win 3-1 but most of last night goals via all from corners which still is a worry to us all. Currie not playing for hearts under 21s seems a strange one from hearts if thats part of his loan that he must feature for their development squad but hey ho we looked a much better team in the second half with dunsmore and court replacing mcbride and kane!! result has pretty much redeem DY for saturday going over to Starks park with that morale boasting victory at central park hopefully we pick up league points fingers crossed.
  14. that would be some coup, see also Jai Quitago from Morton (think hes a winger not sure?) been aloud to find another club aswell, im sure doncaster rovers wanted him two seasons ago if my memory serves me right until his injuries kept him out. two players that would be up for grabs from the championship, surely but your right only if we have enough budget to therefore sign anyone at this stage.
  15. with dowds, smith, macdowall, sparky and Linton all injured. court runoured to berwick for a loan spell? i wonder if theres any more signings at least, just praying the injuries come back and where the win is coming from but early days mind you.
  16. this maybe a random question to ask but when was the last time we won the first game of the season? was it not at home to east stirling in 2007-08 season? it’ll be a tough game on saturday and with Currie arrival i feel on paper the strikers currently is better hand to have than last season and hopefully we can push on from last season rollcoaster.
  17. just had another quick look at only Our five fixtures in including the challenge cup looks pretty tasty encounters from that screenshot to be honest. Signs to be encouraged about as we approach the start of the season !!!
  18. many loans can we use? 5 including development ones or has that rule change? wouldnt mind adding another CB aswell as a striker and that would booster the team and we wouldn’t have to see Kano get another stupidly carded throughout the season as a back up until Linton is back as for YMPC quote we did have a plan when LM tookover the club and LOOK how well that planned out meaning becareful what you wish for - did we not get relegated then left the club that same season but more to the fact we do have a dark cloud over the shareholders in the dark surrounding the club as a whole but since were still in L1 we are just part of the remaining p/t clubs challenging to be that next brechin when that time comes unless something major happens in the near distant years regarding the club then the club will just go on like many p/t teams we see and the only way is faith and hope but at the same time waiting on that hope at the right time. Young 1st season i would give him by benefit the doubt to get the second term just like Gary got, some patience to build his team and win over the fans before they move on. sometimes not sacking a manager is good too as we survived in a poor season last year but like to see manager earn the two year contract given to him last July. So keep the faith....
  19. maybe that type we lack to last season campaign but most of the squad can play in various positions you have Watson, Kane, Linton (Still to see play CB like at Cowdenbeath/I’m sure Clyde), Meggart, Watt and Slattery/Sparky so yeah makes good when the injuries kick in to have many signed up but we need to see it could all come down to quality within the squad or we may well gel and get to the team that was challenging 5th and 4th place in this league but all earlier days this pre season stuff.
  20. Hopefully he doesn’t choose a ridiculous squad number hopefully Julen’s number 22 is back time the loanee’s are added to the squad. Bridey can play whereas Willis was missing on numerous games like the last spell and when you need players at our level there’s nobody.
  21. Just seen who we’ve signed there, these three I reckon will be a “Chris Kane” type squad players at best but I hear Agnew is a type that isn’t a wide player so having McBride is worth a option. McDowall will be challenging Long likewise he was doing the same at recreation park few seasons back and Dowds is almost like a like replaced Mutch of last seasons squad. I feel we do need attacking midfield type player alomost a Robinson type, Ross brown would be useful in different positions and a experience striker with one or two loanees used would do that squad for me. Even Linton can play CB as Meggart feels LB his so the squad is there....hopefully another forward comes in that’s being around. ** Well that leaves us with many tactics KK tactics will be used in so many ways right now to get the winning formula going.... Long Dunsmore Dunlop Watson/Linton Meggart thomson Davidson Slattery Watt Court Agnew
  22. I like the new squad lay-out image you’ve used, clearly we need one or two more strikers, a back-up keeper and attacking midfielder and we have a squad to go. The days are counting fast on the competitive stuff which is the bookies cup and it’s been quiet on news front hopefully some news picks up soon.
  23. I Thought McWatters/McWilliams whoever his name was had pace on the wing. Watson had a solid game i like the look of Finn when he came on and the lad Dowds, it was good to see us back playing again and 1st game in of pre-season.
  24. Bit disappointed that he never got much game time from January to end of the season there with us but Adam seems a real prospect for the Well's U20s system though, he plays on the left side of the defence.
