  1. You know it's serious when they bring the big guns out.
  2. Quite fascinating this, the next fortnight or so will be bonkers.
  3. Rolling news is the pits. 7 hours of absolutely nothing. She's comfortable. She's at Balmoral, where she goes in the summer. It's 45 minutes from Aberdeen airport.
  4. What's with the constant steam of cars coming in and out of Balmoral for the last hour or so, staff getting a half day?
  5. Royal correspondents are fucking hilarious. They know absolutely nothing and are just saying random words to fill time. That basically.
  6. Not sure if you've picked it up from an aggregator site or whatever, but the quote you posted wasn't the headline. The actual headline was bad enough but that version is stretching it a bit. All fairly meaningless semantics of course but interesting how a few words can make an interview - where he mostly talks about being taught a lesson by better players - seem like he's doing the 'awk aye but the atmosphere eh' thing.
  7. Not like PnB regulars to take an already editorialised headline even further out of context!
  8. Christ. The comparisons with Klopp's last season at Dortmund will continue. They're fucking rubbish.
  9. 'waiting until the 56th minute before capitulating after a half decent effort' you'll never sing that.
  10. It would be incredibly funny if Boehly turns out to be a typical minted yank nutter owner who storms in and starts making mental decisions without knowing a single thing about football. Like the boy at Chester in the 90s who basically made himself the manager without even understanding the basic rules. There doesn't seem to have been an awful lot of strategic thinking behind spunking quarter of a billion on Tuchel's players before punting him a week later, so we might be in for something pretty special.
  11. The result is about what you'd expect. The way the game panned out is a wee bit harder to take. McGregor hitting the post, Abada's chance, Maeda's chance and a couple of other minor chances. We should've done more and really should've taken the lead in the first half. You can get away with fucking yourself into the ground if you take the chances that come from it, but being 0-0 against much better players when you're starting to tire is only going to end with one outcome. Acting as if it's a massive embarrassment is a bit weird mind. So aye it's a bit of a sore one but not a travesty, they're really fucking good, which is why the swept aside sides ten times better than us a few months ago and have players who've won the fucker about 8 times. It's given me a bit of confidence for the rest of the group, we've shown we can create chances at this level and you'd imagine we'll get a few more against sides who aren't Real Madrid. Lot of folk talking about the learning experience side of it which for this campaign is right enough, but we turn over our squad too quickly for it to be something to build on in years to come.
  12. Crichton has that thing where even when she's agreeing with someone, it can come across as if she's arguing with them and having a go which, when combined with Willie Miller (who does the same thing) can lead to some mind numbingly dull, occasionally heated debates about absolutely nothing with two/three people who are all arguing the same point.
  13. This is why i find the online wrestling community's reaction to this a bit baffling. Folk on Reddit are absolutely panning CM Punk as if he's hurt them personally. Isn't this type of thing everyone's been crying out for? It makes it exciting and makes you want to watch it. The era everyone desperately romanticises and harks back to was full of backstage, blurred lines personal drama amongst massive egotistical arseholes. There is the chance that i've maybe just misunderstood a lot of the situation though. I dip in and out of current wrestling, and am a lapsed fan for the most part so only really see the odd story that crosses over - but the very fact that that i've heard a fair bit about this online without looking for it surely tells it's own story. I do however understand the view that Khan has lost the dressing room, and that AEW is a bawhair away from falling to pieces, so it'll be interesting to see how this pans out in that respect.
  14. A lad i knew at Uni had a stalker for a couple of years. Like others the police didn't really pay it much notice until it escalated and the lassie ended up going to prison for a short time. All sounded quite terrifying from his perspective. Think a lot of it is born out of an extreme form of limerence. The person doing it probably doesn't even realise how consumed they are by it/how weird it is until they're pulled up on it and then it slaps them in the face. The Maitlis case is bizarre, the guy seems fully aware of what he is doing but has no real desire to stop.
  15. This the same one that was on a year or two ago? I seem to remember it being ridiculously over sensationalised at times, and as if there was absolutely no reason for anyone to think he was responsible. It was discussed on here at the time IIRC, and a few folk who knew more about it than me seemed to suggest that loads of key points had been conveniently left out the documentary.
  16. Very much 'half arse it to get the manager punted' defending from Dundee United there. Brilliant stuff from us, but it was like some of them weren't even trying to get near the ball there.
  17. Do the Dundee United fans behind Hart's goal think he took a blade to his forehead like Ric Flair?
  18. Alex Neil leaving Sunderland to take over at Stoke. A strange, somewhat baffling one. Says he hasn't been backed in the transfer market although they have made a few decent signings and seem in talks to make a few more. Perhaps they are better equipped to fight for promotion, but i wouldn't have thought Stoke would be the type of job you'd leave a project like that for, especially with how popular he is with the fans.
  19. Conference League is great for Hearts, but they've made an absolute c**t of this. Not having the 'ah well you can't really expect them to beat such quality opposition' patter.
  20. Hearts have absolutely fucked this. Made an arse of every chance they've had and a stupid sending off.
  21. Why would they not just stick the radio feed on?
  22. Sure yer man from the Dundee United vs AZ game the other week will be along to have a go at anyone for slagging BBC Scotland's football coverage. Amateur stuff, as always. The sound coverage during the game was off too.
