  1. I suspect for both games this weekend we will split the squad so there are some experienced players along with younger players. Means everyone will get some game time this weekend.
  2. I agree, I think Campbell can be a good player ive no doubt on that but Turnbull is certainly a promising talent as well and somone i will be watching carefully for the 20s next season as well. I actually think as we get towards christmas time again we could see McGhee bring in another 2-3 of the youngsters in and give them an opportunity in much the same way we saw with Cadden and Hall.
  3. I think while yeah its a step up for him, he at times wasnt a regular starter within the 20s team himself, made a lot of appearances off the bench. It is a good move but you cant help but think he has got the move from his performance in the youth cup final which was pretty good. We still have some very good young prospects under contract in young Campbell for the next 3 years and i wouldnt be surprised if we do the same with the lad Turnbull in the near future as well.
  4. I spoke to Robbie directly a couple weeks ago, we did offer him an extension but said he was in his words being messed about by the club so when the decision came to go to Burnley he felt he had to go. It is a shame we havent kept him but in grand scheme of things its a big step up for the lad so good luck to him.
  5. McGhee has said in one of the papers that an attacking midfielder to replace Pearo is priority, but id imagine he will sign 2 midfielders and probably a striker if McDonald goes.
  6. McGhee confirming today that Pearson is definitely off to play in the Indian Super League where he has an offer he cant refuse. He went on to say he has 2-3 new players currently in the pipeline which i find promising.
  7. Stevie Hammell is also to sign a new one year deal in the next 24 hours apparently.
  8. Yeah now confirmed by us on twitter, welcome aboard to Dean Brill
  9. Yeah I thought he might have been asked about players that have left/leaving and what areas he was looking to strengthen. Still need a good 2-3 I reckon.
  10. No McDonald at training today I noticed, thats a blow if he isnt coming back.
  11. Stevie Hammell was in training with Motherwell this morning so i suspect that shows he will be back for next season. Might disappoint a few fans to be fair but if he can stay fit then we are a better team with him but certainly we need to be sure he can stay fit before we offer him anything thats how i would do it anyway.
  12. I think when this story had been mentioned a couple weeks back for Pearo the figure quoted then was about 100k which for a guy at 33 isnt too bad i reckon.
  13. Thank god for that then lol, who would some of you fancy to come in and replace Pearo?
  14. I was chatting to someone earlier and whats the odds we try and go for a punt on Nicky Law again, i hope we dont personally but wouldnt be surprised if he gets looked at by us. If we could sign Bannigan who was at Partick Thistle in midfield then thats a good start for me.
  15. We do have Dom Thomas and Allan Campbell for midfield as well but i suspect they possibly dont have the experience we require so far but in time i could see them becoming first picks for the team as well.
  16. Pretty pleased with these signings, certainly homework has been done on them, the fact Tait is naturally a right back and signed for 3 years suggests to me that Josh Law is no longer required either. The big striker is a target man type and i feel we have lacked a target man since higdon left.
  17. Well if it's true that English Championship sides have been looking at this lad from Chester then he must have something about him and its route we have been successful with before so why not do it again. Also pleased Lasley signed an extension, i think he still has a part to play on and off the pitch but i do feel we should also be getting his long term replacement ready with a view to perhaps replacing him before the season is out and allow Lasley to join Craigan on the coaching staff.
  18. They usually say those who cant play teach, Woods was an abomination of a keeper but is one of the best keeper coaches in Scotland, hence why he is main keeper coach at Celtic. Samson personally i have never rated and said when we first signed i thought he was mince but that said, it looks as if we will start with him but we will bring in another keeper who i hope is far better and ends up being first choice.
  19. There was a rumour about a month or so ago that Plymouth wanted Ainsworth and with their manager being Derek Adams, id imagine he will be looking at players from up here to take to his team. Could possibly see Ainsworth there.
  20. You can have him if you give us Jackson Irvine in exchange haha.
  21. Yeah I think your right, I understand the club were going to be asking him to take a pay cut from his current wage anyway so it probably makes sense for them to offload him if that is the case.
  22. I reckon guys like Ryan Christie and Scot Allan will go out on loan but initially will be part of their pre season stuff. Id take either of them on loan at Fir Park.
  23. I'm not actually sure, was it not Pearson to Celtic thats the only one i can of think, others were out of contract i think. I know guys like Derek Adams left us for Aberdeen but im sure he was out of contract.
  24. I see the sun newspaper, a worthless rag i wouldnt give the time of day to at the best of times is reporting Ainsworth is to leave us and Killie and Ross County are favourites to sign him. The funny thing is i dont think we would sell him to another scottish club anyway.
  25. If you take anything seriously off Steelmen online, they tell us apparently on twitter we are strongly to a striker name Jacob Blyth who has been at Leicester but been loaned out a few times.
