  1. There was a young boy who came on for Jamie Walker, the chance came to try and win a header against Kipre, he didn't want to know about it and ran away from him lol, he's everything I love in a centre half, big physical and most importantly very composed with ball at feet. I'd say he's got a big future in the game.
  2. We will be fine this season, I firmly believe that in my mind anyway. 5 of the next 6 games coming up for us are at Fir Park so now is the perfect time to put a run of results together, once we get the likes of Moult firing goals in again that will give the whole squad a lift. We've badly missed Elliot Frear in the last couple games since he went off against Rangers, we've had no outball on the left since he's been out.
  3. Oh well I don't agree with the Carson decision but not a lot we can do, Griffiths deserves a chance, didn't let us down in the few games he played last season, so its up to him to give Carson a hard time to get back in the team.
  4. Best that McManus retired, his performance at Edinburgh City showed he was finished as a player at our level, will be good to have around to help out the young defenders looking to break into the first team.
  5. I felt very strongly it wasn't a red card and still standby that as well, I applaud the club for appealing the decision, Robinson said he can see why its a penalty but is never a red card offence. Referee put it down as denying a goal scoring opportunity, well as the county player was never getting to the ball anyway then I think Dunne has a chance of getting this overturned.
  6. Dunne will be our first pick at left back especially against the teams with pace in the wide areas, very few wingers will beat Dunne for pace this season.
  7. One thing I noticed last night is that we are the only premiership side so far that's won 3 games out of 3 in the group stages of betfred cup, not bad going when you consider how bad we used to be in cups. Hopefully sign off on Saturday with a bit more of a ruthless edge in front of goal against Berwick.
  8. That's going to accies who will hopefully disappear this season as well.
  9. Newell has been in for a couple weeks training with 20s and 1st team, scored in a friendly against clydes 1st team a couple weeks ago when our under 20s beat them 2-0, certainly seems to be rated at fir park from what they've seen of him so far.
  10. Our home game with Aberdeen in September now moved for BT coverage with a 12.15pm kick off
  11. There was an article a few weeks ago in the evening times which showed that Dom Thomas has started up his own soccer school business, that for me told he was planning for life after Motherwell and he might play lower down or something I'm not sure but starting up his own business at the age of 20 suggests he knows he doesn't have a future at Motherwell.
  12. Don't forget the mighty Bobby Donnelly, cutting about the amateur game with Lee Hollis lol
  13. I see, I missed that then, I'm guessing perhaps Clay and Thomas may have played as well?
  14. Yeah Campbell, Gordon the main guys with 1st team experience available to Craigan today, Luke Watt also played today. Interesting we appeared to have no senior players at somerset park which makes you wonder are McManus, Clay and Thomas on their way out as they weren't in the squad at Gateshead either today.
  15. They've been on a tour of the highland clubs, played against the mighty Nairn County tonight, hardly special opposition lol
  16. Yeah Cadden played right back first half before Tait came on at half time.
  17. Dembele has offers down south on a lot more money than we can pay but we are hopeful that the few weeks he's been with us and the platform we can provide players may be enough to sway it in our favour signing him. Kipre I reckon we wont have any issues with signing, Is only 20 so scope to develop him further and potentially move on for money in the future.
  18. I see Robinson saying in his interview tonight he wants to sign both Dembele and Kipre and one might be done tomorrow afternoon.
  19. Craig Clay was honking second half, don't recall him passing the ball to a team mate, similar to McManus horror show in the first half, I personally felt all the new lads did ok, some will take longer than others to adjust to the game, but certainly the second half team we put out had a bigger improvement in midfield with Carl McHugh there. Looking forward to seeing Bigiramana is like on Tuesday night at Livingston.
  20. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/hearts-make-improved-offer-300000-10689632.amp 300k offered by Hearts for Cadden now!
  21. I remember making a comment that in my view we should refuse to sell any player to any Scottish club, as it would make them stronger and us weaker. We should in my opinion only be selling our players down south so there's no risk of coming up against them and likely doing well against us. Accept that's easier said than done but the only Scottish club of any significance to move to in Scotland is Celtic. apart from that the rest are nothing special and wouldn't deal with.
  22. In terms of the opinions regarding Robinson, I see a real trend developing now within Scotland at the moment with clubs who struggle, it seems like they are going away from the old experienced managers who were once viewed as a safe pair of hands and instead going for young enthusiastic coaches who have their own ideas and freshness about how they want the game to be played. Few examples of this are Lee McCulloch at Kilmarnock, Neil McCann at Dundee, us with Steve Robinson. Also outside the top flight St Mirren with Jack Ross who performed miracles with them being 15 points adrift at the bottom when he took over. Usually In a relegation fight clubs like the ones I've mentioned would go for a Jimmy Calderwood or Jim Jefferies type manager to keep them up, I think clubs are going away from this trend now, could be wrong but that's just the opinion I've got now.
  23. Yeah I get that as well but Robinson was pretty critical that we had a few guys over the age of 35 on two year contracts as well when the season finished. However I reckon McHugh and Bigirimana will be our first choice next season and with Allan Campbell well thought of by Robinson then I really don't see Lasley playing regularly next season. He might be registered as a player but I honestly don't see him featuring much next season.
