  1. Will keep saying it until blue in the face but we need to get Jagzone so far to f**k, asking folk to stump up for highlights [among everything else, it's not just the highlights that should be free to air, btw] is a massive riddy. Folk like me can't make every game and can just about stump up to pay for my ST are in the dark because the club want to squeeze every drop out of us, it's a total joke.
  2. The Yemen-Saudi Arabia game was particularly tasty for political reasons and Yemenis were unfortunate not to stun the Saudis as they missed a great chance in added time
  3. Small bit of trivia, the wins in this round for Europa and St. Joseph's are the first evervictories in a two-legged tie for a Gibraltarian side. Lincoln Red Imps did progress a round in the prelimary Champions League qualifiers last season but that was a one off tie - they lost the final in the next game.
  4. Full Time in the Serie B relegation playout between Salernitana and Venezia in Salerno. It finished 2-1 to the hosts with goals coming from Milan Djuric and Lamin Jallow before Gianmarco Zigoni pulled a goal back for the Venetians - what a fall from grace after the highs of last season's promotion push.
  5. The point Canizares was making was more criticising him for driving so fast and being dangerous in doing so, Canizares lost his 5-year-old son last year to cancer so I imagine things like family tragedies are quite a sore point for him.
  6. How has Milan Nitriansky been for Pribram this season? I cannot recall a player more astonishingly shite at Thistle. Amazed that he got a move upward with them after returning to the Czech Republic after leaving Firhill.
  7. Ups and downs for the top 3 tiers in France: Relegated from Ligue 1 to Ligue 2: Caen and Guingamp Promoted from Ligue 2 to Ligue 1: Metz and Brest Relegated from Ligue 2 to National 1: Beziers and Red Star Promoted from National 1 to Ligue 2: Rodez-Aveyron and Chambly Relegated from National 1 to National 2: Tours, Marignane-Gignac, L'Entente Sannois-St. Gratien and Jeanne d'Arc de Drancy Promoted to National 1 from National 2: Toulon, Le Puy, Bastia-Borgo* and Creteil *Bastia-Borgo finished second in their group but the champions, Nantes' reserves are ineligible for promotion beyond the fourth tier, Lens play Dijon and Gazelec Ajaccio play Le Mans in the two playoffs for the final places in the second and third tiers. SC Bastia who garnered some infamy for some racist behaviour as well as rioting amid their last season in Ligue 1 before demotion due to financial reasons have been promoted to the fourth tier at the second time of asking.

  9. Work is progressing rather well at the new ground which York City will share with the local Rugby League team, York City Knights. It is due to open in the mid-2019. It's about 3 miles from Bootham Crescent so not a drastic change of scenery so to speak.

  11. We're not obliged to call it by the new name over Firhill, we're making a bit of extra cash and on that note, I'm pretty content. A few hundred grand is the most that many teams in Scotland would be realistically selling the naming rights for - apart from Celtic and Rangers, maybe Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen at a push. Don't see the fuss myself.
  12. A cut and paste from what I just put down in the group thread in the cup forum: Our fans overreacting to a penalty defeat is hardly a shock given c***s actually booed at half time on Tuesday when we were trailing to Dumbarton. Felt we had the chances to kill the game off in the first half, disallowed goal aside. Great goal from Squiddy. That second half performance, however, was absolute torture - Livi were growing into the game towards the end of the first half, forcing Cerny into a good save before Jacobs scored right at the start of what the PA announcer called "the brand new half" () Livi look a decent side though, and I fancy them to have a good season off the back of that. Not much for us to be concerned about, we strolled the group stage of this last season and were pish until about December, it's not that much of a barometer for how things go.
  13. Anyone looking for a Scottish update - be it from me or elsewhere on the internet, will have some wait on because the Scottish League Cup doesn't co-operate when you change the European qualifiers over to this seasons. No matter what I try it doesn't work, and tried someone else's update and got the same result - it's either a huge bug or needs more trial and error. Shame really because if I could fix this one issue, it'd be fine to release for download etc.
  14. Hearty congratulations to the witches of Benevento on their promotion, two of the four sides who came into Serie B from Lega Pro have gone on to get promoted once again in SPAL and them. Cittadella were knocked out in the playoffs but spare a thought for poor Pisa - relegated back to the third tier. Promoted for the 2017-18 season are Venezia [who are well backed financially and could follow in the footsteps of SPAL and Benevento], Foggia and Cremonese with the fourth berth to be filled with the playoffs winner, which will be one of Alessandria, Parma, Pordenone or Reggiana. The playoff ties kick off this weekend with Alessandria facing Reggiana and Parma meeting Pordenone. Usual rules apply with the higher placed team advancing if the scores are level on aggregate.
  15. I'd be wary of him going to Bolton in honesty, they're denying they are subject to another winding up order having previously got one extended and seem to be in a crisis at boardroom level too. Ideally I'd want>= £1m for him but if he's not going to sign past his current deal [2018] £750k would be alright I guess, a wrench of course. Unless of course we offer him a deal 'til 2020 or something with a release clause in it.
  16. The finish line is in sight in Ligue 2 and only one side has a clear path to promotion to the top flight. That team is Strasbourg, financial problems caused them no end of strife and seen them relegated in 2010 to the third tier and then removed from that due to insolvency a year later, despite a 4th placed finish. They've battled back and are bidding for a second consecutive promotion, which will be acheived if they defeat third placed Lens on Monday and results go their way. Outwith Strasbourg it's fairly bunched up with 4 points seperating Brest in 2nd place and Reims in 7th. The promotion/relegation system has changed in France this season for the three national divisions, two automatically promoted and one playoff place - changing from the usual three up and three down system. At the bottom, Laval are 4 adrift of the playoff place, second bottom Red Star [new haunt of Dundee United legend Guy Demel] - are 2nd bottom on goal difference and the playoff place is occupied by Orleans although they have Auxerre in 17th in their sights. League table here - http://uk.soccerway.com/national/france/ligue-2/20162017/regular-season/r35875/
  17. World Football by the BBC World Service is usually very good.
  18. I'd say so, lost count of the amount of times I've shouted at him for not taking his man on. Still a pretty good player but think we could risk getting shot of him tbh. A more calculated risk if you will.
  19. 10 games to go in the Segunda Division and the gaps at both the top and the playoff pack as well as the bottom side and safety are both considerable ones. Levante have been dominant throughout the season and are very much returning to La Liga at a canter, sitting top of the table on 72 points from 32 games - a mere 20 points clear of the team in third place, Tenerife. Girona in second have 58 points and have a 6 point lead over Tenerife so they're looking good for promotion at long last, two years after they spectacularly fluffed it in the playoffs against Zaragoza when they won the first leg away 3-0 before losing 4-1 at home and going out. The other sides in the playoffs right now are Cadiz, who are bidding for a second consecutive promotion, Real Oviedo who are aiming for that long-awaited return to the top flight and Getafe, relegated from the top flight last season along with Levante and Rayo. The playoff picture, however, is a very tight one with Huesca, Lugo and Valladolid within 5 points of the last playoff place - with Numancia and Reus 8 points back, Sevilla Atletico are in between them but as we know, Reserve sides can't be promoted to La Liga. At the bottom Mirandes are seven points from safety and it's looking pretty bleak for them. Mallorca are second bottom and sit five adrift - they were fortunate to escape on the final day last season but they might not be so lucky this year. Also in the bottom four are Almeria and Alcorcon, another one of the clubs owned by that Belgian chap doing a terrible job at Charlton. Alcorcon are only in the bottom four below Gimnastic Tarragona on goal difference with Rayo Vallecano not far behind, although realistically all the way up to Real Zaragoza and Elche need to look over their shoulder nervously, and they're only a point behind Numancia and Reus. So in all the second tier is set up for an entertaining conclusion, with the exception of the title itself.
  20. Been to a couple Falkirk games this season and he has been absolute mince. No better than Amoo tbh.
  21. I've suffered from depressive episodes and anxiety, on occasion severe, relating to my late diagnosis of High Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder, or something to that effect. As a result I've never been able to hold down a job for very long and constantly find myself shuffling about at home, I have other disadvantages too such a poor hand/eye co-ordination which affects things like being able to properly use a knife and fork [something which I've only just started getting better at in recent years] and still being unable to tie my own shoelaces. I get assistance financially from both ESA and PIP, but in honestly my outlook is pretty grim and constantly feeling like i'm being left behind by my pals leaves me feeling like i'm wasting my time. I take 40mg of Citalopram daily and i'm much more tolerable when I've had it but still come across pitfalls. Especially socially as I can't read social cues such as body language a lot or can't control my own tone of voice even though I don't realise when i'm being loud until i'm told I am, it's normal to me. So yeah...that.
  22. It'd be easy to jump two-footed into him and berate the guy but he has an upside, he just cannae fucking finish. An upgrade on Pogba but not by much, out of contract this summer and I wouldn't expect him to get an extension.
  23. The legendary Claude's piece is now up on Youtube.
