  1. What's the deal with having a carry out on the bus? Would it be frowned upon?
  2. What's everyone's plans for getting to the semi final? Is the club running a bus? I fancy a few drinks so don't want to drive down, getting the train would mean staying over and I dunno how the Mrs would take that lol
  3. Really don't want Sutton tbh. Sounds like he doesn't want to come and thinks he is too good for us. If SO8 theory is correct he would only sign because he got paid off and our wages are better than no wages. I'd rather we went for someone with something to prove, Ryan Hardie etc. On another note, is Jordan Kirkpatrick getting a game for st mirren? Wouldn't mind him coming in on loan.
  4. Iv not submitted a score this week but my Mrs just got home with our new arrival today so once things have settled I will take them. Also as no-one set the final for the cup I will sort this for Kincardine and alang1993. My apologies gents but some things take priority lol
  5. Well new year started well. Our wee girl was born today. Over the moon doesn't even describe it.
  6. If you were on the park and can say that for sure then fair enough. I assume you are going by pictures that don't tell the full story. I'm sure both clubs were happier that it was called off early and allowed both teams to train or make other plans. Inconvenient to some fans it may be but whenever a park is called off everyone jumps on the bandwagon 'should've been given a chance' oh look we gave it a chance and it's off 'should've been called off ages ago'. Give the groundsman a break and the referee that called it off some credit.
  7. Well the semi finals are completed. The P&B Cedric Kipre's Xmas quiz has it's finalists. Alang1993 (7+9) v Cowden0 (6+6) This was always going to be a high scoring tight affair. Alang1993 Mr consistency in league and cup, up against Cowden0 the highest scorer in each round so far and the odds on favourite with the bookies. Alang1993 took a slender lead into half time. Cowden0 came out fighting in the 2nd half but left the back door wide open for Alang1993 to smash home an impressive 9 in the 2nd half to be the 1st man into the final. SlipperyP (2+5) v Kincardine (5+7) The 2nd semi final was a 1 sided affair. SlipperyP not celebrating Christmas put him at a massive disadvantage against the ever reliable and solid Kincardine. A valiant effort none the less from SlipperyP but the semis proved a step too far as kincardine goes through to the final. So the final is between Alang1993 and Kincardine. Now becomes a problem. My wife is going in to be induced on Saturday (hence the lack of quizzing action from me this week) which puts a bit of a hole in my plans for the final. I was going to set 20 non multiple choice questions but I don't think I'm going to have time this weekend to do such things. Would @cardinal Richelieu or@tynieness maybe step up and set the final for me?
  8. Just answer the questions and post your score here. Your not allowed to win the league in your 1st 3 seasons, if your scores are too good then you'll get kicked out! Enjoy buddy and welcome
  9. As iv previously stated, amateur and youth football don't urgently need any more facilities, there is plenty. Are they being enticed by the promise of being able to play in a 'big' stadium that the boys won't get to do normally. Is it just the youth teams that are being canvassed or have they looked for support from the accies, st pats etc? Dumbarton football club don't care about the youth football in the area (Any more) so I'm surprised that the club's are getting on board with this.
  10. I don't really see this as a major selling point. There isn't exactly a shortage of facilities for youth teams in the area. We have argyle, Dumbarton east, OLSP, vale academy, the new bellsmyre complex, merkins, even hermitage and numerous in clydebank if you wish to go further afield. The 3g parks are frequently lying empty, it's not glasgow where teams are fighting over them. Dumbarton United is a very strange one as they now 'run' Dumbarton East and all their age groups are given a slot when they require it. So not a big selling point to them. I reckon they have been promised more than is let on. I will endeavour to find out, I assume it may be empty promises mind you.
  11. I'm not sure where this support came from. How did they lobby the teams? Being involved with one I heard nothing of the sort until it was on the website. Then a few tweets saying "we were supporting the move" etc etc. Have sent an email to my clubs committee questioning this and who made the decision. Anyway merry Christmas to all sons fans
  12. Sorry for the late post guys. Semi final draw is below as are links to both halves. As it's Christmas the quizzes have a very Christmassy feel. PM me your answers by 11pm on boxing day. If not in the semi feel free to have a go and post your score. Just don't give anything away. I compiled this in a hurry so there may be some typos! Alang1993 v Cowden0 SlipperyP v Kincardine 1st half: http://www.quizyourfriends.com/take-quiz.php?id=1712230551542762&lnk& 2nd half: http://www.quizyourfriends.com/take-quiz.php?id=1712230612015461&lnk&
  13. The whole show has gone downhill for years. The 1st few years was excellent when they seemed genuine and were fighting to get a job. The 1st winner the guy from the London underground seemed like a decent down to earth guy. Now it's all about who makes good tv. Attractive blonde, check, foreigner, check, loud aggressive bully, check. Watching them beg to be saved in the boardroom in cringworthy. If I was on it is just tell them how it is, f**k trying to beg a millionaire to invest in me. Would I f**k be calling the guy 'Lord' sugar, is name is Alan! Just massaging his ego, he doesn't allow Karen Brady to be called 'lady' on the show!
  14. 7/10 for Tuesday. And....... extra time in the quarter final of the cup between kincardine and tynieness is over. I asked: How many shops are there in Oxford Street, also known as Europe's busiest shopping street? Tynieness plumped for 400 and stated he hated shopping. Kincardine plumped for 500. If the answer was 450 then we would be going to penalties. Unfortunately for tynieness the answer is 548 so kincardine will be in the semi final to be played over Xmas weekend. He joins Cowden0, SlipperyP and Alang1993 as the final 4.
  15. My wife is due in less than 3 weeks. Can't wait, she's at the stage where she's fed up and just wants it out. Everything is sore and can't sleep. Us guys do get it easy lol
  16. Well the quarter finals of the P&B Cedric Kipre's Xmas quiz are complete. Congratulations to all for getting this far. It's the business end of the tournament and it was always going to be fiercly competitive. Alang1993 (4+10) v Helpma (7+4) In the early kick off Alang 'shangalang' 1993 struggled to get going in the 1st half. Stumbling into the dressing room 3 behind at the break. Whatever was said at half time certainly worked as he fired in a perfect 10 to leave Helpma wondering where it all went wrong. SlipperyP (5+6) v LiviLion (5+4) The biggest tactical battle of the quarters came in this match. Goals weren't flying in like in the other matches but watching both managers try to outfox the other was a thing of beauty. Nothing could split the 2 at half time both cancelling each other out with 5 a piece. SlipperyP made a late tactical change which brought 2 goals in added time to win 11-9. The Captain (3+7) v Cowden0 (7+7) The Captain knew things weren't going to be easy in this one. Cowden0, outscoring everyone so far in previous rounds, didn't hold back in the 1st half and raced into a 4 goal lead at half time. The Captain rallied in the 2nd half and his troops done him proud but it was too little too late, a valiant draw in the 2nd half sees Cowden0 sail into the semi-final. Kincardine (7+7) v Tynieness (6+ The most highly anticipated match of the quarter finals didn't disappoint. Moved to an evening kick off for tv both sides had plenty preparation time. As expected it was to and fro for the full match. Kincardine edged the 1st half 7-6 but Tynieness dug deep and scored an impressive 8 in the 2nd half to force extra time. So the extra time question for Kincardine and Tynieness: As its an Xmas quiz it had to be loosely based on Xmas so, with 6 shopping days to go. How many shops are there in Oxford Street, also known as Europe's busiest shopping street? Answers PM'd to me by Tuesday at 5pm.
