  1. Yeah got it. I'm pished so will move in morning.......or later when I get home [emoji1787]
  2. Me and Beef @detective jimmy mcnulty have a game on the go for the play off, he has 6 hours to move. I really don't want to go up so Don't want to win on time......anyone able to give him a nudge? Can't seem to tag on this tapatalk app.
  3. Fully agree about Carswell. I reckon he's a big part of the problem, stinking the place out is a good way of putting it. I said it before but he's a piss poor captain and hides when it gets tough!
  4. It's not the name iv heard. The one iv heard is a bit more familiar to sons fans.
  5. I'll send an invite to Beef later. Happy to concede and stay in div B though. I'll get slapped around silly in the top flight
  6. Yes I totally get your point and I applaud the efforts that the club are making to reach out to the wider community. However, I have a feeling (and I'm happy to be corrected) that this is not being driven by the club in any way. As far as I know its a glorified Renton/DU who want an u-17/u-18 side and can't attract the bodies, so using the Dumbarton name will help them with that. Unfortunately there is a reason there isn't much football at that age in the area. As iv mentioned before the boys that are good enough are already snapped up, those that aren't tend to find jobs, cars, beer and girls at that age so football doesn't matter. The Vale and Clydebank both have very good and very successful pathways for youth footballers. We are always going to play 3rd fiddle to those 2 in the area. Unless we do it right we are not going to attract anyone decent and therefore the link with the 1st team is pointless. Throwing 2 random age groups together in the hope of success in the P&D is not going to unearth the next superstar to grace the rock.
  7. So as far as I can tell Ally Love has 19 goals in 4 years.......I await Mr Farrell informing us how that equates to double figures for the last 4 seasons.
  8. It sounds a bit of a farce, it will be Dumbarton FC in name only. Its a way for DU or Renton to attract players for their set ups by using the Dumbarton name and offering the chance to step up (which won't happen) and the club to say "look at us we have a youth set up in the community". I doubt we will be providing anything for them including coaches. If I was an aspiring young footballer in the area I would be going to Clydebank, great set up, great coaches, great pathway. We will have a 2nd rate u-17 & u-18 team playing at tontine or the common. The point in a youth set up is potentially to provide players who can step up, this is not going to happen (unless we continue to plunge the pyramid) Sorry for being negative about it but being involved and seeing grassroots week in week out I can see what it is.
  9. It's glorified Renton/ DU youth sides playing in the P&D set up. The likelihood of any of the players playing in those sides coming through will be zero to none. At u-18 level if u had any sort of footballing ability that meant potentially u were going to be playing for a league 2 side. u would already be on the books of a club or set up with that opportunity. At the very least you would be playing in the u-20 development league. Not sure why we aren't trying to put a team in there!
  10. I think double figures in the last 4 years sums it up better than double figures for the last 4 years.... Happy to be proven wrong tho.
  11. From the Stevie Farrell interview, My understanding is line about the "proven league 1 and league 2 goalscorer hitting double figures for the past 4 years" is a bit misleading.
  12. Pre-season friendly anyone? Chess.com username is pleslie999
  13. Even those on 2 year contracts I'd hope that Faz has said to most of them that they are free to find other clubs. Wilson should be 1st name on the teamsheet for next season and build it around him. Not that I trust Farrell to do anything tbh. Paton away is great news. Carswell can follow. 2 big problems right there.
  14. We have been blessed with some good, sorry brilliant, keepers in recent times so we were undoubtedly going to hit a few diddies eventually. Unfortunatley they seem to have come along at once. Ramsbottom is garbage, 1 decent game against Aberdeen is all i can remember. Wright is a million miles away from being anywhere near a Rangers team and will likely float about the lower leagues for the remainder of his career. Hopefully Sam is not retained and Wright sent back to ibrox never to be seen again. At least Stevie recognised we needed another keeper, just a shame Wright wasnt up to it.
  15. With regards to the part in the most recent statement about having a "proactive pre-season in recruitment and performance". Does this mean we sre not going to treat the league cup group as glorified friendlies now and might have s go? Or will we use the "were a L2 team" excuse now. Do the board think by releasing a few statements the anger of the fans is going to go away? Brilliant letter by the Trust there and will be interesting to see the response (if any)
