  1. You're blaming "blaming the english" on the english? It's nicely meta, I'll give you that.
  2. There's more detail in the accounts here of them trying to explain it, (page 13, referendum appeal) -> http://search.electoralcommission.org.uk/Api/Accounts/Documents/23205 Basically they've spent it, but kept an IOU of the money involved and will spend that amount eventually, if they get enough donations without their own caveats They've also shifted the goalposts on what it can be used for, not just on the referendum, but "independence related campaigning" and "secure a referendum" Two different things, as I pointed out to baxter a while back e.g. if dundee fundraised specifically for a european campaign, and then said they'd spent all the money trying to qualify for europe, would that be the same thing? Obviously, err, no.
  3. Someone's hanging out Mr Sturgeon's arse to the wind.... https://www.heraldscotland.om/politics/19539187.snp-publishes-salary-nicola-sturgeons-husband-peter-murrell-accounts/ hmmm
  4. The SNP can't afford a referendum right now is another issue, too many elections is bleeding them dry Despite what Baxter argues in the face of long accepted mathematical axioms and accounting principles a few pages ago, 600k ringfenced cash doesn't fit into accounts that have only about 100k cash in hand
  5. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-58272209 "It includes a commitment to hold a referendum on Scottish independence after the Covid pandemic has passed and within the next five years." Five years. Lol. Can stick it on a milk carton as 'missing' pretty much then.
  6. That's why they're building more nuclear and offshore wind and building more interconnectors https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-50345575 In the end, an indy England would have a choice where to buy it's extra energy from - France, Belgium, Holland, Scotland, Ireland, even Germany / Scandinavia Indy scotland really would only have one customer, they wouldn't have any leverage
  7. What isn't always pointed out is that most of England lives closer to France and Holland than Scotland (England's centre of population is just south of the M1/M6 junction). If they need more energy and need to pay another country for it (rather than UK internal as Scotland's energy counts as, which doesn't affect balance of payments) they can more easily pull it in from the channel interconnectors, and that's before new nuclear and offshore wind comes online.
  8. *cough* *cough* https://www.heraldscotland.com/politics/19438528.police-scotland-launch-fraud-probe-snp-fundraising-indyref2/
  9. Here's the Italian national anthem if anyone wants to know the words
  10. The play-acting italians accusing the upstanding, honest english team of diving is a clear case of psychological projection. A thief will always suspect others are trying to steal from him.
  11. So you're claiming a country that didn't exist for 1900 years gave a country that didn't exist for 900 years a good shoeing around 50AD? That's historically accuracy of a kind I'm not familiar with. Still good to trigger you like an landmine (except an italian one would have gave up and ran off)
  12. England didn't exist till 927 AD either Free lines honours hurt Choosey mays till greening
  13. Italy didn't exist as a proper country till the 19th century, and we invaded Sicily in 1943
  14. If the italians try any roughhousing we'll just send Tyrone Mings on to stamp on their heads, their tanks will be in tenth reverse gear with the white flags flying soon after!
  15. Wasn't earmarked it was ringfenced, different things Say Dundee had a fundraiser that said "this money will be spent on a future European campaign" and a year later it had gone even though you hadn't qualified for europe. Would you be happy if the chairman turned round and said "aye, but it was spent in an attempt to qualify for europe so that counts", no, you'd be like "what the f**k pal where's the money"
  16. Ron Manager: Cor, 4-2-4, Brazil 1970, jumpers for goalposts, one's gone home for tea, it's beans on toast! imagine the faces of John Major and Edwina Currie contorted in sexual ecstacy... mmm
  17. And they pay out nearly £5 and a half million a year The link I posted above shows their outgoings exceed their incomings which eats into their reserves. They now have a net worth (assets - liabilities) of about 250k. Their cash in the bank is less than 100k. The ring-fenced 600k isn't in there, it's been unring-fenced and spent. As Dickens wrote: ‘Annual income 20 pounds, annual expenditure 19 [pounds] 19 [shillings] and six [pence], result happiness. Annual income 20 pounds, annual expenditure 20 pounds ought and six, result misery.’
  18. Err... in the SNP's accounts http://search.electoralcommission.org.uk/English/Accounts/ST0022937 Less than 100K cash at hand. - Cash in hand and at bank An interesting item called 'reserves' which has roughly 600k in, but half of that got spent as well - so it can't be the ringfenced money either
  19. Nicky's not arsed about independence, she can already do most of what she wants to do without it.
  20. I've no truck with scottish independence but if he wants some candidates putting up quickly and there's a good chance of trousering 90K a year I'm up for it Putting it that way it explains a lot of the MPs the SNP have
  21. *cough* https://www.newsandstar.co.uk/sport/19115478.carlisle-united-welcome-boost-sam-cosgrove-dean-henderson-cash/ "Nigel Clibbens has confirmed Carlisle United are receiving sell-on cash from Sam Cosgrove’s recent move from Aberdeen to Birmingham - and that it will provide both short and long-term help to the Blues."
  22. No, it's not that, it's a sell-on clause which is being discussed by everyone The solidarity payment is 5% for all the clubs involved in his development between 12 and 24. we had him for 6 months so it wouldn't be worth the hoo-haa - Wigan would be due the bulk of that
  23. Apparently Richard Gordon, a journo who is known in your neck of the woods has confirmed the sell-on too - good bit of business. Other places reporting it too - https://the72.co.uk/218408/carlisle-united-will-benefit-from-birmingham-citys-2-million-swoop/ I think if it wasn't true, something official would have been said by Aberdeen by now as in "no it's all ours hahahaha"
  24. Nah, it's sounding more credible This guy's usually on the ball and is quoting 20% - Lot of bluster from Aberdeen fans about "but he would have joined us anyways", "signed a pre-contract". "uff uff uff", but on the other hand why not just wait to the end of the season if he was already on a pre-contract. Aberdeen obviously wanted him badly and Carlisle got the sell-on clause in return, if a bit low in my opinion.
