  1. So it's OK to without consent? Seriously? No way would I want him at my club not what you call a roll model for younger players and fans.
  2. Each to their own but I could not think of a worse holiday. I like my space. I work at sea we employ catering from the cruse ships. They are paid next to nothing for 5 to 6 month trips so go out their way to get tips. When you go to port there are 50 plus coaches waiting to take you to town , you can't jump on any bus. When you go back to the ship you are searched in the name of security. If you bought a bottle of alcohol it will be taken off you. So if it's a pay bar it's expensive. You more often than not have to share a dinning table with strangers. There are obviously people who love it just not me.
  3. Main source is vinyl buy from Juno records and Amazon. Last couple of years has been brilliant because most stuff is available on vinyl not so long ago it was very limited.
  4. Went to the first Bute Fest last year one of the best wee festivals I have been to. Great music, top notch food, chilli out garden, large camp fire at night, 6 of us got tickets for this year's looking forward to it. Was up In Skye few weeks ago for Sky Live another good wee festival though not as organised as well as Bute Fest.
  5. Looked like school boys against men Killie were too strong. Still good season for Falkirk
  6. If none of you have watched Empire then its worth streaming. Its a brilliant TV drama Empire being a Hip Hop label a lot of guest appearances by famous ones. This show has everything. gangland shootings , drugs , sex , the music scene and more. Would put it down as one of the best TV shows yet. Another great TV show made by 50cent is Power - drugs and clubs mafia. Both are none documentary absolutely omissible.
  7. Seen a band called King Lot at Bute Fest they are playing the Voodoo room Edinburgh 24th Sep with 2 other rock bands. King Lot are a Lothian band and very good.
  8. Was thinking the same , or someone who thinks Pink Floyd don't exist without Waters
  9. Here is the first review I found on the new album. Culled from some 20 hours of old Division Bell session outtakes edited and revised to form one long, continuous flow, The Endless River is depressingly symptomatic of the stasis that a certain kind of ponderous prog-rock had reached by the late '70s - and in this case, there's not even the engagingly sour lyrical personality of Roger Waters to spike the somnolent progress. A mostly instrumental album featuring just one vocal amongst its 18 largely indistinguishable "tracks", The Endless River's character is epitomised by the title "On Noodle Street": it's just aimless jamming, one long thread of Dave Gilmour's guitar against Rick Wright's pastel keyboards and Nick Mason's tentative percussion, with nary a melody of any distinction alighted upon for the duration. The title is fraudulent: like living things, rivers pass through stages as they proceed from source to sea, from the frothing cascades of youth, through the majestic flow of maturity, to the meandering ruminations of old age and eventual accession into oceanic oneness; but Pink Floyd here have jumped straight to the late stage, which may be hardly surprising for such elder statesmen of rock, but doesn't make for a narratively gripping exercise. It just trickles on and on and on, and when it's over, it's as if it never happened. It just evaporates away. What's particularly irritating is the way the album apes previous Floyd tropes in ersatz manner, with the spoken-word intro mumblings of "Things Left Unsaid" simply reminding one that the comparable mutterings on Dark Side Of The Moon actually served a thematic purpose: here they're just window-dressing, luring fans into a desperately disappointing experience. It would take a Barrett-load of drugs to make this sound remotely interesting, though I wouldn't advise that. But what's blindingly clear is that, without the sparking creativity of a Syd or Roger, all that's left is ghastly faux-psychedelic dinner-party muzak. Which is fine, if you're thinking of throwing a ghastly faux-psychedelic dinner-party.
  10. Colin you wrote what I wrote in a round about way - Simplicity - There is a market for that the younger generation or the older generation who like a MOR sound. Not for one second do I think synth music is dead I like synth music myself but give us something new to listen to not the same old beats , chords ,sequencers. Sorry I am just putting my own opinion down on the album ( I bought mind ) so think I am aloud to do that even if you don't like what I write. I get people like it but nothing new or great has been brought to the table, Hear nothing to suggest this band will be around for a while. The hardest thing in the music is to write pop hits. One , two three , four can be done by the majority. Years of writing catchy sound bites for the masses is another story. Only the extremely talented can do that. Unfortunately this is not one of these bands.
  11. Got this on vinyl also , different ! In the early 90's there were remixed versions of all the popular Pink Floyd albums done by some DJ , they were not a patch on this reggae version however and were only available on CD.
  12. Same same but different ! Such a sucker for Floyd have every album on vinyl have seen them live , absolutely nothing comes close to a live Floyd gig you just can't imagine how big it is, no doubt will purchase this new one. Here is a Floyd album that took me by surprise , turn up the volume and get blown away it's a cracker , still available on CD but vinyl sold out. http://www.amazon.co.uk/London-1966-1967-Pink-Floyd-VINYL/dp/B004RDTLBA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1415538824&sr=8-1&keywords=pink+floyd+London+1966%2F1967+vinyl
  13. Ok Chvrches are the best thing since sliced bread. What I have been saying is the synth sound has been done to death especially pop synth for children who can only hear the basic chords that make up popular sound. This band might go three albums and then they will disappear. Then the wee lassie will start writing pop hits magazine or something.. Edit to add I like to see Scottish bands do well and bought this album when it first came out , played it around three times then field. I get young people will like it and anything that gets children listening to music is a good thing. Just stating for me I hear nothing new it's pop music played on basic common chords.
  14. First two albums I get the music scene was needing an Oasis. Then on it was down hill pretensions of I want to be a Beatle and I'm as hard as nails attitude. They lost it and it never returned after the second album
  15. Not quite as repetitive as Status Quo but not far off it. Black In Black the best. Own that you don't need to hear another AC/DC album unless of course you like the same music turned inside out , spun around then moved from back to front then you will like the rest of their albums
  16. Music for a children's play pen. However if you are under 19 years of age this is probably new and sounds great. If you grow up with 80's synth music you have heard it a thousand times since then. Give us something new ffs. Edit Disclosure is more mature , laid back dance music still each to their own
  17. Obviously it's well known the club is for sale. We also know that ( someone) has been purchasing shares on the open market. It's mostly speculation but word is the potential buyer wants 75% or more holding in the club. This is the first time I for one have heard the name Hugh Clarke mentioned as will most other Saints fans. All we know to date is that talks are going on and not went any further than that. As a supporter you have to ask - Why would anyone want to buy a club such as St Mirren for 2 million. Whoever it is not going to pump in money for no return. The only way you get a return from Saints is back from the club. A club the size of Saints can ill afford such a cost without it affecting the player budget. Certainly there are void spaces in the main stand that could be used to generate money but not enough to cover 2 million , this is my opinion. I'm worried no matter who the buyer is simply because we have diehards running the club for a long time now as such the club is run the right way. If a penny does not come in a penny does not go out. Could you elaborate on Hugh Clarke a wee bit more. Take you have heard he is interested in purchasing St Mirren.
  18. Have had a Bella boat for 7 years now with a Honda 90 Hp outboard which is good for 30 knots and a 6 HP back up outboard. Keep it in the Clyde which is great for visiting so many places and fishing would say it's the best thing we have ever bought
  19. Genially like Morton Like Saints they live in the shadow of the old firm if not quite as close as the buddies. That must have been hellish to watch. But f**k me you have got to laugh what is going on down in Greenock ?
  20. Tickets for the Fouls today though March is a long way off
