Right. If everyone from the welly-howking, jute-reminiscing backwater up yonder is quite finished gloating about us having an incredible season 36 years ago, as though it was some kind of victory, then we can get down to the real business.

Adam being back improves Dundee tenfold. He’s very good.

No idea if the wee kiddy-botherer is injured, but he rarely does much against us anyway.

Cummings isn’t particularly good, but he does have an annoying habit of raising his game v us.

We are a much much better side than when we last played Dundee though. I think it will be hard game, but we will win it.

    3-1

Griffiths scores against us all the fucking time.

Big fan of this new-look, 'absolutely fucking shite' Aberdeen side.

Second half more than made up for how turgid the first half was, tremendous experience to get the first win of the season. Feel like we've paid a hefty price for it, hoping Byrne's injury wasn't as bad as it looked and Griffiths hobbling at the end of the game. A real togetherness in the squad at the end though, love to see it.

In any case, first league win over the mob from the northeast since I was 5 wasn't too bad.

I'm glad you won, cause an unbeaten Hearts against a winless bottom of the table Dundee was only ever ending one way

It looked a mile off. If it's not then that usually means a defender has went to sleep when the strikers made a great run.

Hardly a red card offence though.

Looks on to me. Griffiths is very good at that run.  But now he's not got the pace to get away from people I don't get why you'd try and step up with your back turned to the striker rather than track him.

  4. If the players wanted to boycott it I'd support them.  If the SFA chose to after appointing Malky Mackay I'd still support them.

But the last 2 world cups have been in Russia and Brazil, both countries with appalling human rights records.  The Euros hosted games in Russia, Azerbaijan and Hungary.   I don't think football is growing any conscience if we choose to boycott

Not nearly as weird as people saying they will stop going to support their clubs because every so often there might be a short delay as the ref looks at a replay or gets confirmation a goal is legit.

Its inevitably going to happen, so I'm not going to get too stressed out or overly annoyed about it when it does happen (partly cause Thistle are unlikely to be effected in the short term to be fair). Loads of people on here sound like they will though, so should at least be a bit of a laugh.

It won't stop anyone going.  It will just be another in the long line of things that make going to a game a worse experience but you have to lean to live with.  Like getting charged more for slightly different parts of the same stand, having to sit in a designated seat, after goal music...

Having a look at leagues which currently use VAR, pretty much every other semi-decent league in Europe uses VAR. Its not a case of if it'll get introduced here, its when.

Of course it is, doesn't mean anyone sane shouldn't think it's a bad idea.

95% of fans who attended matches in England said it made the game experience worse.

As with a lot of things, just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Yep, his lack of a defensive skillset has a negative effect on our team. I have a few examples from last night - want me to share them with you?

He's got 8 caps, we've won 5, lost 1 and kept 5 clean sheets.  2 of the 5 goals conceded in the 8 games were direct free kicks.

Doesn't seem that negative an impact to me.

Are we the weakest team in contention for the play offs?  Is the seeding all about a home tie rather than the chance of getting a diddy country?

I don't think many teams will be scared of us, but then we shouldn't be scared of most of them.

There's unlikely to be any giants (though Spain have plenty work to do) and a lot of Tier 2 teams at a similar level.
