Concussion subs cover potential concussions as well.
I for one am reassured that we took no chances with his calf injury. Sorry, head knock

He's much better than Kevin Nisbet in fairness

Presumably there's no limit on concussion subs? Would be good to go 1 up then make 6 head knock subs

There's a balance to be struck
If they're too strict on people going off who should really stay on then they'll end up with people staying on who really should go off.
Of course, maybe they need an independent check. If they don't do anything though we'll see some rise in late concussions I'd think

I understand putting in guys who've established themselves as key players to the squad if they've not been getting much game time.
That shouldn't be the case with squad fillers like Gallagher when they can't even get a game for a terrible Aberdeen team

Yep, he was at it, but if he goes off with a 'cuncussion' and the concussion sub is used, surely it is then automatic that he can't play for 12 days, otherwise it's just another exploitation in the game for players cheating, and getting away with it.
You'd think so yep, they have to know players will exploit it otherwise. Against Sevco Lewis got injured and we'd used all our subs, and went down to 10 men. Of course a player will be 'clever' and con the ref it's a head knock if he's injured and has to go off, and they've already used their subs, so a concussion sub can come on, but there has to be an automatic 12 day lay off period, esp when the concussion sub has been used.
I don't think there is an automatic lay-off though. I'm not against it but you can't do it retrospectively

Halkett went off with concussion and Hearts had used all 3 subs, so a concussion sub was used, surely wont be allowed to play another game untill after the 12 days for protecting concussed players.
I strongly suspect he won't fall any concussion tests

Fair play to Ajeti, embracing the potato with all his might

Tough one as Hearts are going really well but it seems to be the sort of game that this 'Well team is set up for. We haven't been conceding many (I think only Hibs have scored more than once against us in the league and that was before we bought our culturally Scandinavian defence) and have been really clinical at the other end - so I'm hopeful we can make this a close game.
We probably need some Hearts supporters to do a St Johnstone and remind us how shite/what a wage thief Tony Watt really is
Can't see Watt taking much stick, he was quite popular really.
Should be a cracker, actually looking forward to watching us play every week at the minute, which is progress from the last few years

Where exactly did I say he wasn’t injured? I said that St Mirren abused the new concussion law.
So you've diagnosed a non-concussion head injury from the telly?

The difference being that it only benefits St Mirren as they would have gone down to 10 men.
So if he wasn't fit to continue, surely the sub was fine. I suspect he'd have stayed on otherwise

Jenks sold the jerseys there, Aberdeen were cruising.
Hayes' tackle should have been 2 red cards

The best all round performance in some time. Devlin and Mckay have both added a lot

What gets me is the naivety of the tactical nonce. Great win on Sunday with the shock tactic of playing Shinnie in a makeshift loan striker role but then trying almost exactly the same thing again and thinking that Slippy wouldn't cotton on and instruct his defence to keep him double marked at all times; blunting any eventual threat. No shots at goal the entire game says it all really.
The aim was obviously to try and restrict all attacking movement by the rangers to a minimum whilst hoping for a chance to nick a winner; in some sense maybe you could argue that was working in the first half, however no goal threat at all really says it all.
Bit harsh calling Martindale a nonce

I'd try and go something like this. Doig playing in the Tierney role at left centre back, and Banks and Middleton fairly free in the attacking roles.
Slicker
Mayo, Welsh, Doig
Ramsay, Hickey
Fiorini, Kelly
Banks Middleton
Scott
If you were going to do that, I'd swap Hickey and Doig. Hickey has played CH in a 3 before

He's certainly called up a few league 1 standard players

I'd actually have given Claire Emslie player of the match as she was running riot, although the Faroes right back was a bit of a haddy.
Emslie is like the female Ted McMinn. I thought she had a very effective game and scored a really good goal but you're never sure she actually has a clue what she's doing next

I see people saying this a lot, and obviously he does have the potential to play that role in the future, but as of right now he has just turned 19 and is still learning his own position, never mind being asked to play an unfamiliar one which he has barely played in his career.
To be fair, that's what Left back is, he was always a midfielder coming through. His debut for Hearts was at RB

I thought that was a decent crowd given it was a Tuesday night, live on telly and the opposition were cannon fodder.
Decent win but some pretty laboured build up at times. Cuthbert is an absolute class above the rest of the team

Trying a bit of reverse psychology here, following the Dundee Derby, but every game we've played v Livvy at Tynecastle has been absolute water-boarding for the eyes, so fully expect an under 2.5 goals banker.

Still not sure that Griffiths is going to be the huge success many think.
He's definitely a danger imo

So many missed chances by Griff today. Two missed from six yards out and one cleared off the line.
Adam looks a bit daft now!
overall that was a quality game. If you want to watch football the quality of Bayern or whatever that isn’t for you, but it was end to end stuff, some proper challenges and a great atmosphere. Really enjoyed that. That Mulgrew tackle at the end was amazing. United’s defending was great
This is the worst take ever on this site. That game was awful.

Heart of Midlothian v Motherwell - 2 October 2021

Thought we were superb for an hour. Gritted it out last half hour but as said further up, bringing on Halliday was a really odd decision that made us far more unbalanced than Haring would have.
The two in the middle of the park are class and McKay has both started well and just as importantly, brought Smith on a huge amount as an attacking threat.
Just need the **** to let me into Ibrox now
