  1. I cycled past lochinch a few months ago with my brother and stopped to see what was going on. There was a youth game on and I noticed a sign for coffee. We nipped in to the coffee shop (passing Charlie Fox and Grant Savoury who were just leaving) and got some bacon rolls and tea and watched a bit of the football though the large windows. The girls running the place were delighted with the extra custom. I would recommend it.
  2. Jeez even Ramsdens will give you a better exchange rate than that!
  3. I rarely attend preseason friendlies but I have bought a ticket for this one. I wonder if one or two of the lads turning out for Celtic may appear in our first team this season? We always seem to have a Celtic loanee. I like the Pollok suggestion tbf. As for Friday night football - not keen.
  4. Edinburgh to Stansted this morning then on to Salzburg and a train to Rosenheim in Bavaria.. nice town, great pubs. 45 minutes to Munich tomorrow. Still buzzin'
  5. I remember being at what I think was John McGregor's QP debut. It was away at Clydebank -league cup I think. He was 16 maybe. We were 3 nil down at half time and came back to draw 3 each. I had gone to the game instead of doing my English homework but when I got home I was so excited I decided to write a poem about the game and to submit that the next day. I expected to get hammered by the teacher for it as I was off the brief. To my surprise I got quite a good mark. Unknown to me my English teacher was a QP fan. His name was Adam McNaughton (wrote the jelly piece song) I did meet John McGregor a few years ago when buying my son's first car at Arnold Clark on Hamilton road. When the salesman heard we were QP fans he went and got John out of a meeting to see us as he worked there.
  6. Alan Irvine was one of my all time favourite QP players along with Dougie Wilkie and Davie Anderson. I lived in Nottingham in 1986 and Forest played Palace in the cup. I went along to the City ground to watch just to see Alan Irvine play again (I usually watched Notts County across the Trent) Alan didn't see much of the ball unfortunately. Forest were in the first division and Palace were the division below but it was good to see him play again.
  7. Took the ball inside his own half close to the north terracing. Beat a handful of thistle players and scored past Alan Rough?
  8. The season started with us losing goals to the opposition's press and ended with us scoring goals from our own press. By my reckoning we will now spend (at least) three consecutive seasons in a division that's not the bottom division for the first time since before the second world war. Happy days
  9. 'Queen's Park v Airdrie - the season's climax' I sincerely hope that it will be the climax HD, and you are not a bit premature
  10. Reading through this thread I realised that we have only won 3 tournament games in the last 40 years. I also realised that I was at all of them. I'm fully booked with tickets to be at all the games in Germany and when we win one of them (just one mind you) I will immediately be on here to take the credit. In the meantime I hope I can get over this injury in time to go.
  11. I'm sure I heard somewhere that Confidence is a preference for the habitual voyeur?
  12. A well thought out and measured response. Were you on the planning team for lesser hampden refurb? You called him a lamb. He managed to do a lamb impression, take the sting out of your insult and get your goat. All with just 3 letters. Measured indeed!
  13. Brownside Road? Even if there are queues you might still best with this route as you are going away from the city.
