  1. I'm sure I heard somewhere that Confidence is a preference for the habitual voyeur?
  2. A well thought out and measured response. Were you on the planning team for lesser hampden refurb? You called him a lamb. He managed to do a lamb impression, take the sting out of your insult and get your goat. All with just 3 letters. Measured indeed!
  3. Brownside Road? Even if there are queues you might still best with this route as you are going away from the city.
  4. If you live near Newton or Kirkhill stations get the train from kings park. No point walking to Croftfoot it's the same train
  5. I don't think 'attitude problems' are generally dealt with by releasing players from their contract obligations. That would start other players thinking. I also don't think homesick 21 year old's parents advise them to wait until the transfer window to mention how they are feeling to those leading them at the club. Especially if the salesman that sold you the dream has left the country. Looks now like some planning has been in place
  6. Denis Law won the Balloon d'Or and is still Scotland's joint top scorer
  7. To be fair I only used Murray as an example as bait for you sir/madam. I am with Zanetti however in that I believe money talks. Another however, however is that I'm not sure if we have any.
  8. All the candidates mentioned on here are currently out of work. We put in an interim solution before while we waited for Owen Coyle. I wonder if we might go that way again. Maybe just take someone with a bit of nous to give us a fighting chance of staying in the division on a short term basis with a view to throwing some of the money that everyone is convinced we have at someone who's contract is due to end in the summer. Someone like Ian Murray perhaps?
  9. You will be of course referring to the 90s rave classic 'A Trip to Trumpton' by Urban Hype. (Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble, Grub, I feel the heat) Glow sticks at the ready.... No one is actually old enough to remember actually watching Trumpton'.
  10. After the previous Raith game and our current run of results I get the added frustration but I observe winning teams in tight games making last minute substitutions week in week out. Often just to waste time or break up rhythm. I think in these days of squads and 5 subs that the starting eleven is unlikely to be (should not be) the strongest eleven by the time you get to 80 minutes. If must blame something, blame the vision, blame the DOF. Blame our benefactor, blame the committee, blame the budget, blame the bench, blame our 'experienced players' blame the youth of today. Veldman did what coaches usually do.
  11. This is 100% the case. I am going to suggest that our 2nd half game plan was to concentrate on our right and for McPherson and Thomas to work their socks off to create opportunities with the understanding that they would not necessarily need to stay on the park for the full 95 minutes. 75 minutes so far so good. Murray sees where this gives him an opportunity and sticks on Dylan Eason - a very good player to be able to bring on - and tells him to stay out on the left wing (first time I have seen Eason play so wide) Now Raith are getting traction on our left so Veldman puts on the guys that have been training all week to do this job. Mauchin gives it his best shot - and does OK. Healy is not up to Eason and gets done and Fox let's his man get too much space. The coach can only work with the tools that he has.
  12. Sorry for late reply. Some other posters have further and better reinforced my position I was indeed asking, so I appreciate the answer which is that you would not have made any subs from that bench. I can see why you said that but Thomas - whom I feel sometimes looks like our only real creative force -was out on his feet and Veldman only really had Healy who regularly came on as a sub last season as a like for like replacement. Healy had a poor game. That is primarily Healy's fault. Unless we sign different players a different manager might need to make the same decisions.
  13. I don't think Veldman signed any of these players. His job is to coach and develop them in to better players as part of a cohesive team playing a contemporary style of football. He also needs to be mindful of the commitments made to players when they signed for us. And looking at the subs list below who would you have put on that you would be happy not to call children? 7Hepburn 14Healy 15Tizzard 16Bruce 22Reid 27Jarrett 28McCormick 31Kane 33Mauchin
  14. Yes indeed you are spot on. I was telling everyone around me he was going to Panenka it. The bigger the pressure, the greater the glory the more likely Ross will go for the Panenka
  15. Having watched the highlights I have a couple of observations. 1. Our 2nd goal came from passing out from the back with Spong taking the ball under pressure from Ferrie on the 18 yard line. Once he had turned his opponent the game opened out in front of him. This is what we were working towards and I believe it's the way to go. 2. Several posters have questioned Robson for their second but it looks like the main culprit was Thomas. He is the guy bombing forward on their kick off and Robson just stands up to the guy on the ball who passes it wide to the player Thomas should have been watching. Watch who Thomson berates and Spong looks at. It's not Robson. The players know.
  16. Absolutely agree. Also Alex refused treatment when the physio was waiting at the side of the pitch. He was also asked - I think by Robson - if the subs waiting should come on and he confirmed all was good so Robson communicated that to the bench.
  17. Where better to learn than P&B? I've made no comment on this subject, just asked questions. I'm grateful for the responses.
  18. Are you saying that we should be using some of our playing budget to set up a full time professional women's team?
