  1. Happy to see a draw and play offs secured. Don't really care if it's third or fourth.
  2. Much the better team today and but for some good saves, and Todororov being a bit slow to shoot, we could have relaxed much earlier. Great shot by Dean and what a birthday present. Thought McGill was excellent the whole game and although they equalised I always felt the better football from us would win out. But I was so relieved to come back so quickly and also thanks to Hemfrey for that last minute save. Convinced it was a foul and penalty on McGregor but it was a good game to watch despite a pretty duff referee. On to the Maryhill luvvies. Although a draw guarantees both of us the playoffs wouldn't it just be nice to win there!
  3. Can The Diamonds and the Magyars do an Austria/Germany arrangement and share the points please? Or for Sporting integrity can we just win at Firhill for the first time in ages? Surely we can't be caught, and don't call me Shirley.
  4. Felt we dominated the first half and deserved to get ahead. In some ways the corner kick being windy affected ,changed to a different yet successful chance It was well rattled home by Dean McMaster for , I think, his first senior goal and birthday delight. We'd loads of chances but I was relieved at going ahead. Felt that Chalmers did little in that half and was not surprised to see those changes. I'll credit the wind as well for that equaliser, rather than blame anyone. It might have been a concern but getting ahead again so quickly , let me relax a wee bit. Be interesting to see the Benedictus challenge on highlights and I was howling for a penalty. Maybe the view from behind the goal was clearer but did any Pars fan think it was a foul or a wonderful Tom Forsyth type recovery? It could have been a draw but for our goalie making a good save, but being nine points clear should surely seal the play off spot. Now for a wee trip to Maryhill
  5. I agree about a side view being better but I can't remember the last time that happened for us at Dunfermline. It's rainy and windy now but at least it's not Cappielow open " terrace" behind the goal.
  6. Happy to consolidate in the Championship but it would be exciting to be in play offs again as with last season . The odds are very much in favour of the Premiership club but Thistle should have done it last season.
  7. Closing in on the title and 21 of us get the correct result but no three points.( I hope) Liked the 10-2 prediction, or was it misprint?
  8. As a Gartlea boy now Chapelhall resident, Gartlea beats Clarkston all day.
  9. Another close encounter of the recent spell between Airdrie and Dunfermline. Two form teams although I think having the better goal difference leads me to being optimistic. Think I've predicted a narrow home win but I'd not be fazed with a draw. Just glad we've done well given all the natural concerns at the start of the season.
  10. After last night's delight for me at least, here goes: Greenock Morton 1 Dundee United 2 Airdrieonians 2 Dunfermline Athletic 1 Ayr United 2 Arbroath 1 Queens Park 0 Inverness Caledonian Thistle 2 Raith Rovers 2 Partick Thistle 2
  11. Will take time to catch up on earlier posts but this late arrival home sees me relaxed at essentially being safe in the Championship, and delighted at the result tonight. We pressed really well in the first half, scored two excellent goals and stood mainly firm in that dominant Raith spell in second half. I was of course relieved to be helped by the post and by McGregor's goal. Now to keep it going against the lesser Fife team.
  12. I'll be happy with a good performance and not losing. It's been a hard shift recently with all these catching up games but apart from Ayr we've played well. Todororov to score again in a 1-1 . On the subject of resources I'd favour the view that Raith have been able to access more money from the start of this season , and have given DU a real challenge, so well done. I'd prefer them to go ahead of DU , but that's mainly because I cant abide Goodwin, whilst Murray did a good job for us.
  13. I'm getting carried away so let's go for it on Tuesday and pressurise Thistle whilst ( Sorry TX) weakening Ian Murray's pursuit of the title. Nurse please.
  14. Marvelous result and performance over a team who seemed to just want to exact some revenge for a wrongly perceived incident at Cappielow, and were Completely outshone.
  15. Posting before catching up on previous pages. In the end I think we deserved the win and edged most of the game. Certainly the hesitance of Morton's two centre backs was so bad in that opening but Todorovs shot was so fierce. Hard to tell if Mullen might have got to it. Airdrie dominated that opening spell and Telfers shot was a thing of beauty. Morton did come back into it and a great couple of saves and saving tackles kept the lead. There was a minor chance for Muirhead but I relaxed at half time. The third goal from a corner looked like ending it but the subs by us and by Morton let the nerves return. It was a great run by Quitongo to get the goal but I don't think our defence was under pressure. I don't really know what happened in the stramash but the experiences Referee dealt with it well. Obviously a great three points for us and surely 45 points will be safety! Third and fourth still on edge for several sides, and nerves over 9th place. Mental league
  16. I think it's the first time I got all the results correct so thank TX for the good news.
  17. Enjoyed the Jamie Stevenson feature and he was an excellent player with Airdrieonians. Gogic was very entertaining.
  18. Gone for a one goal win for the Diamond lads. It's bound to be as close as the previous games and I'd be happy even to see another boring draw. We've been a lot more pragmatic in how we've played for several months . Just want to see Dougie and Millen reenacting the Chewing the Fat touchline duo. Could be windy so hoofball might win it.
  19. Eventually relaxed last night at the game when the superb Dycey got that so important goal. Clearly we dominated the game but a fairly rubbish referee almost tilted it for Arbroath in so many ways. Credit to the subs who did the final job of finishing the game after the young team had established a hold on it. In some ways I thought Gal and Gabbie were a better front two than our first half set up. It was also good to see Ballantyne slot in so well in that back three. Arbroath were fairly duff and the constant drizzle must have been a challenge but it's a great win, especially as we'd lost 6 in a row there recently ( I think!) Now for the Morton moaners.
  20. At the game last night I had trouble recognising many of the Arbroath side assembled by McIntyre. It was also clear that they lacked much energy/tactics before the penalty award, to threaten Airdrie. The better chances were from Airdrie but maybe that's because I was in the wee stand. Had the penalty been scored I would have been concerned but credit to our goalie for taking advantage of the "I'm taking it" chat Once we got ahead it was more comfortable and a relaxing trip to Gayfield at last: I think we'd lost 6 in a row recently. Please take something off Inverness so I can relax a wee bit as I'm still looking down.
  21. Airdrieonians 1 Morton 0 Dunfermline Athletic 1 Partick Thistle 1 Inverness Caledonian Thistle 2 Arbroath 1 Queens Park 1 Dundee United 2 Raith Rovers 1 Ayr United 0
  22. I presume you mean for Arbroath to avoid 10th place but it's a funny old game? Realistically however, you're right.
  23. Just realised how I can see how often I've posted so did it twice.
