"No nonsense" Nigel Owens really pinning his colours to the mast here as well.

They talked about it being fractious towards the end - that was quite simply down to his total inconsistency at the breakdown.
Even the last try there, you aren't actually allowed to jump into a tackle like that. Then they come steaming in and take a couple of sucker punches. They guy stands there and does f**k all, doesn't even look at the video! Pathetic.

Ireland should have ended that with 3 in the bin. How the feck was it not a yellow when not one but two Scotland players were taken out without the ball?
There seems to be a huge difference with what is a yellow card for a Scottish or Italian player compared to a Welsh, Irish or English.
Ireland deserved the win, but the ref was a disgrace there to be honest, he completely lost control at the end.

Well played ref. Yellow card finally comes at game over when you've already completely lost control. Two tiers of refereeing in the six nations, no doubt.

A Scotland player would have absolutely been yellow carded for that.

So stupid from Dunbar. That's game

Weir is having a nightmare.

Warriors beat Leinster 12-6, some superb defence throughout the match. Lifts them up to 6th, and importantly in regards to European qualification they go above Edinburgh.
It also gives them a great chance to make the playoffs and win the title again! Game in hand, three games against the Italian teams still to go and Ulster still to play at home. Should have a full team back next weekend (although so will everybody else I suppose). It's definitely on, which didn't look likely at the turn of the year.

I'd had doubts about the inclusion of Horne as cover for stand off, especially as Weir had been In great form recently for Glasgow. He was fantastic today! Russell needs a bit of a rest, lots of expectation on his shoulders and maybe a break from Scotland duty and more focus on playing well in the Pro 12 will do him some good.
Would you drop Russell for next week? That would be a big call, but Cotter isn't afraid to make changes.

sitting in line with it in the North stand so not sure why he went to the TMO
It was the TMO who actually referred himself to the ref about a small tug Laidlaw had on a French jersey as Taylor was running away. Ref took one look at it and basically told him to stop being ridiculous. I thought the ref was good to be honest. Probably could have been a bit stricter round the scrum and penalised earlier, but to be honest at the end that was suiting us just fine.

It's a shame we didn't last like this against England and Wales - we could have had quite a different look to the table.
Yeah, absolutely. The no show against England is especially disappointing, especially since even then we've really been the only team to make life particularly difficult for them. The Wales game, meh, we weren't great but the ref had a major impact.
We are getting better though. Great to see the potential we all knew was there starting to come to fruition. Would love to beat the Irish now.

5 mins. Please don't shite it.

And just as I post that France give away a daft one.
And we score! What a player Hogg is.

We haven't got into this second half. Too many errors and France will score a try soon.

Anybodies game at the moment, great to watch. Horne has been excellent since he came on and Hogg is a superstar. Disappointing to lose the try at the end though. Need a big second half, we really need to win this.

Only saw a bit of the England Wales game before turning over to watch Falkirk Dumbarton.
The pundits were raving about it, was it that good or just the usual hyperbole? Was a pumping the bit I saw.
It went a bit mental in the last 10 mins, where England got a guy sin binned and Wales actually decided to try playing some rugby, scored two quick tries, and from miles behind very nearly won the game.
It was pretty exciting to be fair.

I thought we played well. I also thought the ref was fine to be honest. Russell maybe a bit unlucky with his yellow, but Nel can really have no complaints. I have to say though, there is a marked difference to the way teams like Scotland, France and Italy are reffed when compared to the other three teams.

I thought it was a great episode. Really enjoyed it.
As for Carl being shot in the eye, believe it or not this happened to my great grandad fighting in WW1. Bullet caught him on the eye socket just above his cheekbone. He died when I was six, but I remember his eyepatch.

Rugby.
Do you not support Hearts? The union flag waving "staunch" club from No City?

Fantastic performance by Glasgow tonight - 1 very well worked try, and kicking the penalties when required.
Russell and Hogg definitely back on form, and Tommy Seymour with an impressive return from injury.
Dunbar going off injured though. Seriously bad news if that's him done again.

Really good performance from Edinburgh there. Hardie was absolutely superb I thought.

Piss off Morgan you boring, self-righteous p***k. I wish he had died so he couldn't speak anymore.

No sign of Dunbar since that game against Connacht.
Was wondering about that myself. Is he injured again? Possibly they are trying to manage his time to try and get him fully ready for the 6n.

Right thing to do... far more important things going on
Yeah, definitely.

I enjoyed the absolute f**k out of that. Well deserved win. Ref was a p***k, but I thought he realised the error of his ways late second half and gave us everything towards the end. Hogg didn't have his best game, but his try is why I love rugby. To be honest, I think if the ref had gone back a bit further he may have seen a forward pass.
