  1. That's local data for a shortish period. Here is some less local data for a slightly longer period. Climate models can account for the variation in the medieval warm period and the little ice age through solar variation and volcanic activity. These can't account for recent changes. That rise after 1700 looks like a return to the mean following the little ice age, plus the overshoot that results from feedback mechanisms in a dynamic system.
  2. Oakie's in a ragey, Put him in a cagey. Nananana na na
  3. Ok, bollocks within a 99.9% confidence interval. Happy?
  4. They don't look like eminent climate scientists. Is it a Sun Ra tribute act?
  5. This is much better than mine. Good job. He'll be along with his general purpose dismissal of averages and why they should be ignored any second.
  6. The press release from 3 days ago when the warning was released included the 50%. You guys are just making shit up
  7. I can't do proof because it's science and not maths. Here is some evidence in support of my contention. https://ec.europa.eu/clima/climate-change/causes-climate-change_en https://royalsociety.org/topics-policy/projects/climate-change-evidence-causes/basics-of-climate-change/ Now over to you for support for your absolutely bollocks 5% anthropogenic claim. James Dellingpole's twitter is not allowed.
  8. Absolutely bollocks mate. Maybe ~5% of CO2 emissions being man made would be right. Virtually all of the observed temperature increases can be attributed to man made CO2 emissions.
  9. It's 34 where I am and we've only got amber. How can this be allowed to happen?
  10. You're in the Philippines right? My work has recently started employing in the Philippines on recommendation from an Australian firm that employs several people over there. These are qualified professionals doing jobs that we have shortages of in the UK and are paid well by local standards (so they tell us). This isn't outsourcing, routine admin or telesales. It's not ideal for domestic life, working UK hours, but it's not as bad as going to the Gulf to be mistreated. It's only the last five years or so that tech has made this a feasible arrangement. Are you hearing much about this sort of thing increasing? What's the view from the other side?
  11. I can imagine the English fans doing similar if there was a combined GB or UK team. I wonder if they're all on board or whether the Utrecht boys are fuming. As an aside (because this isn't enough of a digression already) I can never make out the words in chants unless i already know what they are. All away fans just go "wulllgh aaaagh mmmp" as far as I can tell.
  12. Still nobody else annoyed at them putting noodles in the washing machine then
  13. They've quite clearly said that there's a 50% chance according to their models. That means there's also a 50% chance that temperatures won't reach 40. There's a reason they call it a forecast and not a prediction. There's a standard pattern. Boffin gives dry factual information about output of model heavily caveated. Journalist picks up extreme scenario for good copy. Sub editor picks extremes out of extreme scenario for sensationalist headline. Public reads headline. When extreme scenario fails to materialise, public blames boffin. People have enough of experts.
  14. "Some models are now producing a 50% chance of maximum temperatures in excess of 40°C in isolated parts of the UK for the start of next week. Mid, to high, 30s Celsius will be seen more widely with an 80% chance we will exceed the current record." Egg everywhere.
  15. "If people see us talking they'll realise we're a bunch of stupid arseholes."
  16. I do this exclusively for people or things off of the telly usually for a mildly comedic effect. I admire your commitment to pedantry that it was a superfluous word that irritated you about that tweet, and not the attention seeking cuntery behind the content.
  17. This seems improbable. Standard protocol is for a maximum of two working at any given time while the other six stand around doing nothing. That's including the man who's watching the hole as working.
  18. I wouldn’t be surprised if the NHS 50 years hence takes that decision out of our hands. Once you've exhausted your assets you'll be released into the wild or offered a surfeit of diamorphine.
  19. If that had a bit more ivy it would be the spitting image of the place you could win a murder mystery weekend at on wheel of fortune (might have been family fortunes). The useless p***k wouldn't have contributed anything worthwhile anyway.
  20. Last year the Record was reporting Scotland's draw with Holland. Seems it's not just stupid disrespectful foreigners that get this sort of thing wrong.
