  1. Probably because it was a real weakness in the case for Brexit so the pro brexit papers ignored it and the telly takes their agenda from the tabloids.
  2. Common theme amongst even the sentient brexiters that i spoke to was that there was something they disliked about the EU but they hadn't considered how leaving would actually affect it. I didn't speak to any fishermen (as per the map above, they're rare in these parts) but i spoke to a few who thought the EU was undemocratic and thought we shouldn't be bound by laws passed by an unelected commission. Leaving aside the misunderstanding of the facts, they seemed to think that a customs union or Norway/Switzerland type arrangement would remedy that. "The implications of the paperwork." really is a cracking phrase.
  3. Calling cards of morons thread for this pish. Limited by the phrase "on Wednesday"
  4. Point of principle. I didn't want the responsibility for a cat. We got him on the understanding that she'd do everything. Obviously i have to pay the vet and clean up shite, puke etc.
  5. "I'm going to book the cat into the vets on Wednesday. What time are you free?" "i'm free after 9.30" 10 mins later "he's booked in for 11.30 on Thursday" "I can't do 11.30on Thursday i have a meeting" "Why did you not say anything before i called?" "ffs"
  6. 1. Kettlewell 2= Robinson 2= Davidson 4= Goodwin 4= McInnes 4= Gerrard 7= Mellon 7= Lennon 9= Ross 9= Dyer 9= Rice Previous efforts haven't suitably adjusted for the budgets (B) the position of the club when the manager arrived (P- expressed as 1/3 season average league placing), ability to replace players (R-proportion of players out of contract in first year) and time in the job (T). Current league placing is L. Using the formula ((1/L)/B)*((P+R)/T), I've created a ranking system and have ranked the managers by the length of their name.
  7. From what both Dempster and the league have said, it looks like someone at Hibs was told but it wasn't Dempster. Sounds like some internal politics at Hibs alongside the league's standard Celtic fellatio.
  8. It's about number 79 on the list of behaviour that needs addressed.
  9. Some old greek lad that got nailed to a cross for something? Seems relevant
  10. Kids are watching some American youtube twats who are making a lego thing. They keep calling the bricks "legos".
  11. Ha. Lovely stuff. Enjoy, staggies, enjoy.
  12. Gorky Park is magic. Dennis Potter's only big screen effort if I remember rightly. Leonard Rossiter in 2001 is always a surprise. Tony Robinson has a bit part in the John Wayne vehicle Brannigan. Keith Chegwin in MacBeth
  13. To the extent that America first is a coherent policy rather than a dog whistle slogan, it is about creating barriers to international trade. Tarrifs create winners and losers but have a net overall cost to the economy. US Tarrifs on Chinese steel are great for Us steelmakers but shit for US construction, carmakers etc. Similarly it looks as if Brexit will be good for Stilton makers who export to Japan and terrible for the rest of the economy. Which is quite like waking up in your wifes curry skitters.
  14. Genuinely not sure which one is which here. 2 peas from a privileged pod. Plenty other right wing populists about. Some (Bolsonaro, Duterte) are even worse than those two. I think there's a positive feedback loop between political culture and the media. Countries tend to have both institutions being grown up or a sensationalist media and infantile politics. I don't think you can disentangle cause and effect.
  15. We are currently third in the league though. Last time we rolled the dice we got McGhee. If that's not enough to give anyone the fear then i don't know what is. We beat Motherwell with a makeshift team last year with Leigh and some boy from brisl city in midfield. If that's the benchmark then we're ok. We played shite. It happens. Slightly more than it should but we haven't been playing like shite much.
  16. This isvwhy St Johnston are so far above us in the table. When we've played well this season we've been a joy to watch. It was actually painful to watch tonight. Our second string should at least be competetive against St Mirren but we only managed about four decent attacking moves. I do remember the stick or twist dilemma with JC though. We're on about 16 now.
  17. Well played st Mirren. First to everything and should have won by a couple. Abject shite from Dons. Utter pish. Worst performance under McInnes. p***ks
