To put that in context as a graphic.

    Injured:

    • Blaney
    • Koutroumbis
    • Slattery
    • Paton
    • Callachan
    • Stamatelopolous
    • Nicholson

As @Stevie Kirk mentioned it leaves us with a squad of 28 (assuming Ferrie, Wells etc are being loaned out) of which 7 are long term injured.

Which if not ideal still feels...fine given we know we're not going to be seeing Slattery until December at the earliest and reading between the lines the likes of Paton, Callachan and Nicholson are going to be out for longer than that.

I mean, generally you'd expect a normal squad to be around 24 - we're carrying 4 over that.

I'd echo @Handsome_Devil in saying that I'd have liked to have added a centre mid but tbh I'd be entirely fine with us holding off and looking at free agency in that respect. Like, if Ryan Jack finds someone willing to pay the money he's looking for then I, for one, would happily have Ally Gorrin back.

Do we know if Maswanhise or Tavares can switch wings? Pace on both sides can be a huge asset.

I was 11 in first year and I know because "je m'appelle Stephen, j'ai onze ans" is burned into my brain.

I was 12 and the next line (for me) was "j'habite a Hamilton en Ecosse". La Famille Garnier by any chance? Bof!

Anyway, I'd be quite happy with Vale as he was good at linking up with Bair last season but we'd need to have someone actually capable of putting the ball in the net. Hopefully Stama is that guy when he's eventually fit.

  3. One of the main difficulties is that the concrete doesn't bond as well to the reinforcement. Water ingress can lead to corrosion of reinforcement (which can spall the concrete) easier than normal.

The whole building doesn't need to fail, a lump of concrete falling on someone's head can do a fair bit of a damage. As damage is likely to be hidden, it's very difficult for an engineer to say it's safe (their insurers would probably have kittens and advise against it). The council are even less likely to have anyone willing to sign anything saying it's safe.

Couple of interesting RAAC council house stories today.

Up in Aberdeen it's going to take 3-4yrs and cost £70,000 per house to demolish 366 properties (another 138 are private), then upto 15yrs to rebuild at £360,000 each:

Hundreds of Aberdeen RAAC homes to be demolished and rebuilt - BBC News
Hundreds of homes in Aberdeen affected by potentially dangerous concrete are to be demolished and rebuilt at an expected cost of more than £150m.

Meanwhile in bonny Tillicoultry - evacuated at 3hr notice and 1yr on still unable to retrieve all their possessions - the council still hasn't decided what to do:

RAAC Tillicoultry residents angered after evacuation - BBC News
Homeowners in Clackmannanshire whose flats were evacuated almost a year ago have told BBC Scotland News of their anger at the way have been treated.

Have they come up with any explanation as to why it would cost £360k to rebuild each home, never mind £70k for demolition? These are mental figures that don't bear any resemblance to costs in real life.

Most have safeguarding guidelines if you have the time to look online but Rangers for instance have set their age limit at 13.

Think it would be a good idea for all the clubs to get together and set a consistent age so everyone knows where they stand.

SPL guidelines say 12 I believe.

14 does seem a bit old seeing as a lot of kids make their way to high school on their own and 12 year olds can go to the cinema unaccompanied.

Regarding the banning of those being charged, I get that there are rules in place which we have to follow but am very uneasy about these rules. Whatever happened about being innocent until proven guilty?

It’s a stick on that Cinnamon will support Oasis at the Murrayfield date. It’ll be Gerry Cinnamon in Edinburgh, Courteeners in Manchester, Catfish and the Bottlemen in Cardiff and Fontaines DC in Dublin. And probably one of the above for London.

Surely a call to Birmingham/Cheshire’s finest, The Charlatans. Or Paul Weller. Has to be.

My money would be on Johnny Marr for the Manchester gigs, if not all of them.

Charlatans and/or Weller would be great as well. I've seen all three in the past year and all were superb.
